I am there too David. I'm 74 and in the 50s was driving farm equipment at 7 years old . Now I watch with envy and applaud Andrews work ethic. Why , even his videos are well produced....
From memory the pedal on the left acts as a clutch so you can disconnect drive as you tip, there should be a button on the floor (not always obvious) to the left of the steering column that engages 6 wheel drive and all differential locks, this needs to be done when the drive axle is not spinning on mud, and a good braking system is as you know needed on steep ground, good luck with your new purchases 👍🏻🏴

Another outstanding production, and enjoyed seeing Sam joining in. Her help with the videography, not to mention getting greasy and operating equipment is a wonderful addition. Note at about 1:17 that Andrew demonstrates his skill by picking a rag out of the rubble with the excavator. Yes, getting old is challenging . Just turned 72 last week. I still do my own yard work but now- at a slower pace. What I could do in a day- takes two. It’s a bummer walking to the tool shed going inside- trying to remember why I went there . The exercise I do with weights is now lighter weights - more reps. It is good to know I am not alone in old age and that others have the same issues. Watching Andrew brings me back in time and is enjoyable to watch. Stay vertical as long as you can. Ahhh Isn’t that like a little piece of heaven, being young and enjoying those experiences building and using , maintaining all kinds of equipment. Good for both of you, building lifetime memories !
I love how this video started, digging a small side area with a mini tracked excavator and tracked dump truck, and then graduates to a CAT 973 and Andrew purchasing and repairing a full on rock dump truck and working at a gigantic rock quarry
Tractor Supply has an inline filter assembly with housing and screw on filter for log splitters for like $20 on clearance that will fit in place of your Yammar filter assembly. I had to do it too with a hard to find filter. Log splitter filters are common size, works perfect.
I'd go one step further and just remove the entire base and swap it with the most common type filter assembly meant for filter relocation on a truck or utility vehicle.
From what I remember about those LMTVs, they are full time 4 wheel drive. If you press the down arrow on your transmission mode console until it says 1 1, that puts it in 4 wheel low range and sends more power to the front axel to stop the 1 wheel spin. If your CTIS is working, press the XC button to let some air out of the tires and that improves traction. Those particular tires are the LMTV radials and they are not good for much off road. Good luck and stay safe.
Thank you for writing this comment. It makes sense. I was actually looking for someone's explanation in comments, knowing Andrew is missing something crucial in his overview of this 4WD system, besides the type of tires on the vehicle here. Army, as a general rule, wouldn't buy truck like this if there was such a flagrant issue - equipment typically undergoes rigorous long-term testing before procurement is started.
My favorite part about Andrew's videos still continues to be how all projects are finished in about an hour. Seriously, though, how many days did that take? That was a LOT of stone that was moved.
The most impressive part of these videos is the span of time the footage is taken and saved over before getting edited into a more watchable hour and a half than pretty much anything Hollywood produces! I miss the good old days when Andrew used to paint the equipment as part of the tune ups! Looking forward to that rock processor in action!

Great video, the new camera style really helps to immerse you into the video and the work being done, Sam is doing a hell of a job. I especially liked the downhill escapades on Mr. Camarata's Wild Ride!
The young lady reminds me of an old neighbor of mine. Amanda rode motorcycles, PWC's, sailed boats, restored boats, fixed cars and Jeeps (she painted one Jeep in the back yard), remodeled houses, built a wood canoe and the building she made the canoe in, grew her own vegetables, and I'm sure I've forgotten a whole lot else, all while looking a lot like Linda Hamilton!
Great road project, and nice acquisition of equipment for your road project. The two of you make a nice crew, and it's nice to see more of her in the vedio. "Thanks", for sharing your lives with us all!
The left pedal in that Volvo A25 is for the so called "retarder". It's a hydralic brake located in the gearbox and should be your main method of keeping the speed down as the normal brakes wear out very fast if you use them while going down a hill fully loaded. It can be a bit finicky as it takes some seconds to build up pressure and works best at a certain RPM-interval, also takes some time getting used to the feeling. Try holding the pedal down while going downhill and see if it actuates. Also, there should be a switch that activates an exhaust brake which comes on as soon as you let of the throttle. Not as effective as the retarder but if you combine both you should only need the regular brakes when you want to come to a complete stop (as the retarder and exhaust brake doesnt work in those low RPMs). Try to maintain a set, safe, speed downhill as the retarder will lose pressure for a moment if the gearbox shifts up or down.

Andrew!! So good to see another video of you getting it done, and so glad that THIS dump truck actually works for you, as you build a new road surface for your newer property! been watching you form the beginning of any of your videos and since you had mostly pictures of the first roads you built and some video for your castle property, to see you doing this again, thrills this old woman's heart. I hear form a little Maine Birdy, that you are thinking of building another Castle?? up here?? I can see it being done, BUT that is a lot of winding not too wide roads up to this property, to get cement trucks and shipping containers... But if there is a way to get it done, you will be the one to do it! Hope your ankle is healing well. Your videos are always top quality, and Samantha's skill in operating the track dump and getting it all turned around for dumping the shale, is amazing.. Great Job! always nice to see Cody and blue as well. Look forward to more from you! Really think you NEED to take out a lot more of those trees, along some of your road, cause they are far too close to the width of road you need..??
Great team. Good vibes. Just plain fun. I know nothing about tractors and trucks and motors but I very much enjoy his videos. Andrew has an artist point of view of things and life. His videography is perfect. Bravo.

The projects that you have showed me and all of your views are just amazing. As your other views that commented on your video's i totally agree with the positive ones. Looking forward to many more video's. Bless to you your family and friends.
you should look into the 5 tons 4x4 system. it is probably just an o ring as the air goes into the diff, or something similar. being able to switch diff lock on and off at the touch of a button from the cab is very handy.
I was thinking the same thing not to second guess Andrew’s massive knowledge of vehicles but I can’t see that army truck not being able to get up that hill… even crappy 4x4 suvs gives you 2 wheel drive on diagonals that surplus truck should do better then one wheel. I figured you should be able to lock all 4 wheels for real 4x4 drive.
@@AndrewAMG_ i used several countries 4x4 in aus army, and they all had a type of diff lock. the air lockers were the best as you could switch on the fly. he's right on the other side 4x4 without limited slip or lockers is 1 wheel drive.
It’s nice to see that Sam is now fully integrated in Andrew’s videos , 4 hands is definitely better than 2 when getting work done . My wife isn’t scared of getting her hands dirty when needs must .

Hey Andy another great vid, love seeing raw resources straight from the earth being put to good and clean use. Also i noticed that the Volvo trucks front grille/rad appears quite clogged, could be something to look at for overheating, cleaning out the rads quite good could be the easy trick
Thank you Andrew, this is a great episode of your continuing journey. Wishing you, Sam and your furry kids a blessed week, gentle autumn weather and restful evenings. Peace brother

I am very curious how much this road work would have cost if someone just called a company to do this job? I have basically no knowledge in this area but I am guessing over $20,000. What do you think? I can see that many of the viewers of Andrew's channel probably know this like the back of their hand. Thanks and Much respect to Camarata as he kills it again in his video! And yes absolutly I agree that Sam adds another huge element to the work Andrew does and to the channel! Thanks Andrew. Unconditional love, Namaste. CH
Judging from what I spent to have 510 feet of road pushed through some woods, and then (13) tandem axles dump truck loads of rock put down, I would say his road work would have cost WELL over $20,000.00 , like maybe in the $40,000.00 range once it is rocked?

Great job! I know you're not finished but what the two of you have accomplished is substantial. Having the right equipment certainly does cut down on the time factor. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished roadway up to your mountain retreat!
Based on the noises Sam makes when cruising down that hill, you should think about naming the truck “The Chiropractor.”
I think her seat would have been more uncomfortable than Andrews too lol. Even though his air seat is disconnected I imagine it was better than some cushions bolted onto the frame basically.
🤣
@@ESPSJ Oh by far, she's basically riding on a Military Humvee seat. Most. Uncomfortable. Seat. Ever.
@@DonOblivious True hahahaha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good to see you back again, realize that putting a video together is a lot of work, but I really enjoy them
Wow! A rock crusher/ spreader! You are almost ready for the winter and wet weather, come spring!Great job Andrew! Terrific videoing/ cameria work!
Super glad to have ya back!
I agree with several of the other comments on your addition of your helper (Full view, instead of partial shots here and there: on previous videos). It seems you work very well together. Keep including her in more of your videos please. :)
Missed you Andrew , glad everything is going well.
I figured it out. I like Andrew's videos 'cos they are real. No bs anywhere.
Hei
Thanks Andrew, recent content has lifted 10 fold, camera angles, drone footage and action shots certainly makes for enjoyable viewing, looking forward to seeing the crusher in action and the quality crushed stone sheeting layed out
Agree, but then again in such a beautiful location to begin with. 👍
Andrew Camarata has just laid out the roadbase rock onto the dirt road.
holy shit Andrew is so much better than my local DOT they've taken years to accomplish what he has done in a mere hour and a half
😂🤣 true !
Andrew is saving a ton of money here while making a ton of money and entertaining folks like me with wholesome fare. Thank you Andrew.
He living the dream... great show
The rock crushing is my favorite. Something just so satisfying about it.
Is theere no end/ Andrew's going to have every big boy tool in the book pretty soon!
Great video.
Samantha is quickly gaining her own fan base.
Any young woman with her ability is an encouraging sight.
Y'all make a good team.
She is one in a million!
I genuinely thought thats his son
Have you done all the repairs on the Volvo dump truck???
So great to see Andrew using his machines to make the road to the mountain property REALLY better. It's time!
Blue is really growing! Soon, he’ll be class to Cody’s size!
Agreed. But he'll still be Cody's little brother/Stepson! Lol
I wonder if Blue will be able to keep with Cody on a full run.. Cody is FAST!!!!
I love those old Yanmars. In my opinion, some of the best equipment ever made.
Definiely.
Doing the gravel driveway was the first video that got me hooked up with Andrews Channel. Awesome to see how he's stepping up the game over time.
Anyone knows, how many of heavy machinery he got meanwhile. Would be time again for a fleet tour

That little tracker dumper is a GEM!
Really think you NEED to take out a lot more of those trees, along some of your road, cause they are far too close to the width of road you need..??
the 973 is an awesome beast - mighty powerful - love the progression of the whole project - a very entertaining vid AC!
DIRT PERFECT just did the brakes on his truck as well as fixing the lockers in each axle . Good job as usual Andrew on this project.
Glad to see Andrew finally brought out the big guns for this job!
This channel is therapy
Great team. Good vibes. Just plain fun. I know nothing about tractors and trucks and motors but I very much enjoy his videos. Andrew has an artist point of view of things and life. His videography is perfect. Bravo.
Blue is learning from the best! As always, most excellent videos and instruction for those of us who only wish we could have your talents!
I was going to make a comment. But instead i am glad that i read many comments before doing so. Andrew you are the GOAT of working on other properties and projects. The projects that you have showed me and all of your views are just amazing. As your other views that commented on your video's i totally agree with the positive ones. Looking forward to many more video's. Bless to you your family and friends.
Fantastic work as always. I love seeing all the new camera angles, drone footage and the extra pair of hands helping you out. 🙂
you should look into the 5 tons 4x4 system. it is probably just an o ring as the air goes into the diff, or something similar. being able to switch diff lock on and off at the touch of a button from the cab is very handy.
I love that you have your girlfriend or your wife working with you need to get her more Camera time
I have been waiting, in Switzerland, to see you do just this! Well done Sir! Another enormous project!
Andrew, Samantha a great helper, nice seeing you guys working together keep it up and stay safe
It’s nice to see that Sam is now fully integrated in Andrew’s videos , 4 hands is definitely better than 2 when getting work done . My wife isn’t scared of getting her hands dirty when needs must .
Who is Sam?
@@666peanutbutter Sam is the mysterious tomboy that we see in a lot of Andrew's videos. We know nothing about them.
@@666peanutbutter , his lady friend .
iS sAM A DAUGHTER ? g/f ?, wife ? I don't need to know if it makes someone in peril.
@@johnstarnes4289 , Andrew’s girl friend .
I usually put a video on RUclips for background noise while I get stuff done. When Andrew does stuff, no matter what it is, is interesting. I didnt get much done in the last hour and a half but i sure did enjoy it. Thanks Andrew. And your helper is right in there and cares about your stuff.
Excellent content Andrew! I'd love to see more. I know you will sort out the overheating and brakes on the rock truck. Hope the weather holds for you. Looking forward to the rock/concrete crusher fix up and use.
I took my pushbutton 4X4, pulled the electronic actuator and put in a manual pull T-handel. That was around 1997, still worked perfectly when sold in 2018.
72 years old today, treat for me to watch you with all the great man toys you play with, little pieces of heaven,I built high rises for a living, now I build sand castles ha, heading to the beach to morrow! Take care, question for you: is the girl a different girl friend?
Great seeing new content Andrew. Love watching you two bust out projects. Got a great partner in crime there.
Hey Andy another great vid, love seeing raw resources straight from the earth being put to good and clean use. Also i noticed that the Volvo trucks front grille/rad appears quite clogged, could be something to look at for overheating, cleaning out the rads quite good could be the easy trick
My best friend, Amazing video. I enjoyed watch your video. Thanks!
Thank you Andrew, this is a great episode of your continuing journey. Wishing you, Sam and your furry kids a blessed week, gentle autumn weather and restful evenings. Peace brother
Such determination and operating skills you use with the equipment is amazing!
It’s fun to see Andrew doing a job with a partner. It was cool solo, but seeing a good team is awesome
Yeah
but the child in me still has a smart ass comment

You inspired many people in Europe too, to buy excavator!!!!
I love your channel Andrew. Love seeing Cody and Blue run around following you and your companion. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. 👍
The whole time I was watching this, I kept saying to myself in my head: "Andrew needs a rock crusher to make consistent gravel out of all that free rock he has sitting around"....and I'll be danged if one didn't show up at the end of the video! Hahaha! Love your videos!
Thanks for the spoiler!
Anytime! LOL
I like your Girl, She's not afraid to get her hands dirty and appears to be an asset. She compliments you Andrew.
" We are approaching sauna temperatures in this cab. " Killed me. Nice content.
Yea, don't forget Codi and blue the supervisors lol
