    One thing about Honky he doesn't seem to change as much as other wrestlers. He was one of my favorite heels of the 80s. The only dude that could compete with him as far as wearing the belt is Mr. Perfect. Both looked great wearing the title and both did great in the ring. I have come to appreciate Honky more as I have gotten older. I see now how truly great, he was.

    It was actually the the fault of Pat Patterson's long-time partner or husband Louie (sort of) that went and bought the extremely solidly built guitar having no idea what they were going to be using it for. They just told him to go out and buy a guitar for The Honky Tonk man and that's all they told him.
    On top of that, nobody thought to check it to make sure the inner skeleton or structural pieces had been removed.
    Honky is the one that hit him with it but you can't blame him for Jake's injury.

      Wrong. You're so wrong. Jake said HTM had done the guitar spot numerous times with others. HTM *knew* what a gimmick guitar felt like (guts removed so it'd break easy) a gimmick guitar is lighter than a regular guitar. HTM knew what he was doing. At 6:20 he describes the guitar he hit Jake with and even says it was *heavy* ! Why would he say that? Hmm is it because the gimmick guitars were lighter? He absolutely knew what he was doing. HTM doing this to Jake is what started Jake on his addiction to pain pills because the impact and the pieces of fiberglass in his skin. I didn't hear about this in a video, I heard it in person firsthand from Jake himself.

    • @RobwLPOC
      @RobwLPOC 22 дня назад +1

      @@redeastwood4850 I agree it started Jake's pain pill problem and If you are saying it is at least in part his fault because he knew "it felt heavy" and didn't check it, that is fair. I should have said "You can't put most of the blame on him"
      To suggest he is 100% to blame or mostly to blame for not double-checking because "it felt heavy" it is not fair because different guitars WITH the guts removed will be still be different weights. A cheap-ass one with the guts still in can easily be far lighter than a high quality one made of better quality/a different type of wood with the guts removed.
      He wasn't using the same type of guitar or same quality every time.
      The same size guitar with the wood being the same thickness made of pine wood and one made from oak wood would not weigh the same or have the same strength.
      He may have just figured it was better quality guitar than usual and that was why it was heavier, not even thinking to check it.
      To suggest he "absolutely knew what he was doing" and either knew the guts were still in it because he HAD looked and didn't care, or just knew "by the weight" that this particular one still had the guts in, and purposely with malicious intent he hit Jake with a guitar he KNEW would cause Jake injury because he wanted to injure Jake is absurd!
