    I 100% agree... The prices are getting ridiculous. I have been in this hobby for over 45 years and watched the RC hobby go through these high and low periods. "Burnout" from extremely over-pricing will eventually hurt the RC hobby, as in the past. I love all the new innovations. But I loved my mechanical speed controller in the 1980s as well.

    Pass for me, I think having an upgraded transmitter like the flysky gt5 really elevates your experience using a furitek esc. Your steering and Throttle feel better and are more controlled. And if your going to spend that kind of money I would just get a python pro and a separate receiver. Amazing video as always 🤟

      Yeah man I love what all of these companies are offering for the 1/24s but when chassis are running the same price as 1/10 chassis and escs are more expensive than 1/10 escs I just don’t understand it. It’s because the micros have taken off like crazy imo

  • @matthewcopeland4441
    @matthewcopeland4441 8 месяцев назад +2

    100% agreed about the price issues: $140 is more than several of the mini crawlers start off at, and that's just for an ESC/receiver.
    I know others will chime in "pay to play" but I'll play with more rigs rather than sink it all into one.
    Contrary to your experience I have loved the Rockwolf ESC, honestly more than competitors. Installed and running two with glowing reviews.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  8 месяцев назад

      I wish mine would’ve worked! I mentioned it several times in a group chat with the mofo guys and no one ever offered any advise. Basically ignored the fact that it never worked. Just figured it was money lost. I hate am32 based escs though. They constantly have connection issues and just never seem to work well for me. I got the rhino 1/10 esc and it’s terrible as well 😆 got it programmed but it’s just so weak compared to others. I’m just not a fan

      @@2fmrcVery interesting-sorry to hear that! I have had only great experience with AM32 ESCs.
      I downloaded the software, unzipped the file, checked the right box, and ran no problem. Hopefully they get you squared away! Be a shame to see a prominent voice not get an answer to let people know what's up.

    At that price point I want an extra drop down with protocols for other brands, and the current v5 drift gyro stuff, with turbo, boost, foc, and sbus with all the goodies.
    Even better would be multiple drop downs, and add the options above individually.

  • @trucksimfan2687

    I’m building a 24th scale semi truck, and was considering this esc/receiver/tx combo. The foot print of this would have limited my mounting options. A separate receiver and smaller esc allowed more flexibility on where I could mount everything. And it allows me to use one transmitter for everything.

  • @wingnutbert9685
    @wingnutbert9685 8 месяцев назад +1

    It's nice. Like you said, would be good for specific builds. While it's total size (cubic inches) maybe a bit smaller than having separate esc and receiver, as you showed it's hefty. But also, the separate esc and receiver lets you split the volume which would make them easier to move around to fit or for weight distribution.
    ???: Any thoughts or plans to crack it open and de-case it? Be nice to see how many grams that case is costing and how much extra volume it's taking up.

    I'm also struggling to understand how we need a 40/70A in a 24th or even 18th scale crawler. The stock ESC's are typically 10-15A and even with a bigger motor we probably don't need more than 25A. 25A at 7.4V is 185W!

    Working in retail, I'm very familiar with the raising costs to consumers. I've always been curious about the margins they make and really how many hands actually touch these products before they get in our hands. those import taxes are getting higher and shipping costs are getting higher. However, why is there no competition? HH is finally getting in there, but not on the micro scale, so what's left? What's worse though is even if there was competition, there still isn't a lower price - that's dictated by us because we'll buy it anyways; in fact, ppl buy because its simply 'different' and 'feels different' and therefore, no supply/demand that increases or decreases prices.

    Hi late question, I have a Smasher due TOMORROW! with the speed motor in a bag. I plan to spend a couple batteries to get to know, then blow it up with the new motor and grease everywhere.
    My question is this: oil shocks and speed motor..
    Is there any other pressing upgrade I haven't heard of?
    I have not heard the plastic trand gears giving out with brushed systems, I'd rather keep it light.
    Maybe get some other wheel tire combo with foams, but that's it. Not looking to speed run, I just wsnt to do indoor monster truck stuff.
    Also thinking of the spiral cut diff ring and input, just for smoothness.
    Any words on this would be appreciated!

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  8 месяцев назад

      Honestly I’m not sure. I sold my g7p cause I hated the menu on it & I didn’t like the fact that it used a totally different protocol than the gt5 and noble which I already had. Needing 3 different types of receivers was just too much. Especially when the radio was just ok to me.

    • @matthewcopeland4441

      It is ANT protocol, so far no other multi model transmitter works with them. Possible the new MT12 with 4 in 1 protocol may be able to work.

    Cost's of business and shyte is going up and as popularity for products grow prices will increase alas. Then add the cost of R&D to bring products to market along with manufacturing, packaging etc....... In the 50 states of the world it's still cheap One day the world will reset the cost's of the $$$ to euro not US and make stuff out of the states far more affordable for us that don't live their.

    So I gotta dumb question, if you have a 6 channel radio/transmitter does that mean you can bind 6 different rigs to it? I’m trying to find a radio to hook up all my small crawls instead of having 6 different radios. Thanks

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  8 месяцев назад

      No 6 channel means you have 6 things you can control on the one truck. Servo,winch,lights etc. You’ll need multiple receivers for one transmitter to have several trucks on one radio. I prefer the flysky gt5 for the micros. You can run up to 20 different trucks on it. Plus the micro receivers are tiny! Great transmitter also.
