While I wanted to get across the stark correlations between Hartman's behaviour/actions and your average cult, I don't feel the amount of times I returned to that topic unbidden was appropriate. I apologize if this annoys you, it was not my intention. I hope you can understand my points regardless, however. I really do find cults extremely fascinating and have done quite a lot of research on them, but bringing it up so many times was not acceptable. Hope you guys understand, and thanks for listening!

It got a bit tiring after a while, but if cults are something you like studying, I don’t mind you saying what you can about the topic. At least you’re making people more aware of their emotional decisions, which is something that needs to be well-informed in our modern era. My only problem is that you attribute these tactics to Butch, which fair enough if even this isn’t enough to burst his bubble, but it seems like he’s being used as a puppet at this point.
This is really random but I really appreciate the comment you made about people in cults and having compassion towards them instead of condemnation. It's actually very similar to people in abusive relationships. I'm also interested in the pyschology of abusive situations like cults and it does annoy me that people don't realize 1.) it's a matter of heavily pyschological manipulation and playing hard on someone's weaknesses (not stupidity), which anyone could potentially fall for (and has at some point fallen for in smaller, more benign ways) and 2.) being condemning and mocking of people in those situations doesn't make it easier for them to leave them. I'd hate to say this.... I really sodding do since I loved some of Hartman's toons (especially when they were at their prime) but after all this, after all these scummy shenanigans I'm saying it... Butch Hartman is a scummy, down-talking hack. And I'm not seeing OAXIS as this huge streaming hit. Pablo Delgado what I found funny is that while Butch sees himself like he’s the Stan Lee of cartoons, his shows wouldn’t have been as great as they are if it wasn’t for the help of his crew. For example, someone told me that in the first 2 seasons of Danny Phantom, it was mostly written by a guy name Steve Marmel but, in the third season, that is when Butch Hartman took control of the story telling and cause the show to drop in quality.

It's just you. It was a really funny show with charming characters, hilarious writing and dialogue, and even some cool worldbuilding. I still enjoy it today, honestly. At least the earlier seasons. Fuck Butch, though.
Early episodes were decent (especially the crossover episodes with Jimmy Neutron under the exception of the third one) but it wasn't my favorite as a kid. The few episodes i've seen of Danny Phantom were good despite so cheesy humor at times (i grew up without cable and relied on Nick Picks dvds to see some of the early 2000's Nick Cartoons.)

he was funny ten years ago when i was in high school. The fact that he's still doing the same shtick now is embarrassing. His loud voice is obnoxious, his skits aren't funny, he's a really awkward person when he does crossovers on James and mike mondays. He's also not nearly as smart or eloquent as he thinks he is, and the NotSoAwesome revelations make him seem really sketchy.
He used to be funny back in the day. However, as of late, he's become the guy who just kind of reviews recent movies with skits guy (seemingly because Channel Awesome is now a sinking ship and Demo Reel failed).
In a simple way to put it: if you wanted to put something out for the public to see, then you should be prepared for a public opinion. And that's a lot of different opinions, but at the end of the day criticism comes with everything you do. Whether you're a historian, mathematician, or in this case - an animator. As a illustrator and writer myself, I know that criticism comes on a daily basis and not just positive criticism. My worst problem with creative writing is that I get so compelled with my words, that sometimes it doesn't make sense with all the synonyms I use. I appreciate when people tell me they don't understand a sentence because I then go back and read it and change it into a more simpler form. The feedback helps me develop my skill as a creative writer and I appreciate criticism. Beyond this, I also stand up for myself if I know someone's being just an arsehole without any actual beneficial feedback. Butch needs to realise that criticism is feedback, and as an animator - criticism is vital for improvement. It's sad to know that he's accomplished as much as graduating from CalArts. He can't even take criticism for his own work. What a shame. That's the one thing you need to understand as an illustrator and writer - you'll always get criticism. And since he can't take criticism, and he's stupid enough to expect not to get any after announcing a stupid idea on the internet - he never should've became an animator. He puts shame on the industry for his behaviour to the public opinion. An opinion that wasn't even that bad. It makes him look ignorant. There. That's my input and I haven't done anything spectacular. Tho I AM an animator and storyteller. Does that mean my opinion actually counts? Jks, I don't give a fuck if it does or doesn't. :p

The introduction to Vlad was the highlight and after that episode it never regained that level of excitement for me.

i agree, its a total cult of personality. Not Joseph Stalin level, but still noticeable and off-putting. Soo this shit has been going on since the early 2000s tbh, at least in terms of homophobia. Back when danny phantom was still on the air, butch had this like forum where fans of danny phantom would gather to write fanfiction and basically be a fan club. But people started posted gay ships and headcanons, as well as less than wholesome ships (I don't agree with Danny/vlad obviously but that was also apart of it.) So butch started deleting their stories. There was this whole divide between "true phans" (people who treated Butch's word as law and did not post things that butch disagreed with. People who take what he says as canon) and "antiphans" (people who wanted to play with Danny phantom as a concept and ship gay ships and headcanons LGBT characters.) To this day, there are many LGBT fans of danny phantom, myself included, that basically say "fuck bitch fartman, this concept is cool and I'm allowed to play with it. And danny is trans." Also side note: butch does have a tendency to use boys wearing girl clothes or being effeminate as lazy comedy, so there are many many times where he accidentally writes a gay character or a character that is accidentally very relatable to LGBT teens. He's so homophobic that he's an ally lmao. Butch has also canonically had mpreg in fairly odd parents and tucker from Danny phantom is canonically a furry. So....like I don't think he actually knows what he wants lol
0:37 - If people can upload their own content, will videos with any mention of LGBT relationships be rejected? What if someone uploads their kids birthday party, but this kid just happens to have two dads? Will those videos be rejected? Or would Butch consider it to not be family friendly? He has to be more transparent about this, people have been asking him what counts as family friendly for ages now.
i be the first on to say as some with a bfa in sculpting and have practice ceramics here and there, butch as an artist is not even good. seems like de doesn't grasp basic color theory or the concept of shadows when considering the frequent offputting highlights one finds in his drawings, seems he doesn't show any understanding of lighting at all. not to mention lack of life in his drawing make as though he can only draw a hand full of human emotions.

Honestly, my point is just that you guys are smart people, and you're smart enough to figure out exactly what Butch Hartman believes. We're all grown adults here, not kids anymore, we know who Donald Trump and Shapiro and Peterson are, we know what Breitbart is, who Steve Bannon is, and what he believes. Whether you agree with it or not. Kids don't understand why parents may or may not make moral decisions, boycots certain things, or strike. But as adults, or even minors who have reached the age of reason, we're required to make these decisions. The people who donated to Butch are responsible for the moral weight, positive or negative, of their actions.

If you can't figure out the difference between Butch Hartman's definition of "family friendly" and your's after 15 seconds looking at who Butch "follows" on Twitter then it's entirely your problem. If you support gay marriage, or if you oppose it, you have an ethical duty to ensure that you are not complicit in whichever you think is wrong. And I say this as a conservative Trump lover, but even I have an ethical problem with supporting blatant homophobia. That doesn't make me not complicit in homophobia, I still eat at Chik-fil-a and such. So if even I can acknowledge my current moral failing in remaining complicit, lets stop hemming and hawing. Someone linked a video of Hartman talking to what I assume is a church group: ruclips.net/video/YnA8K58gxyo/видео.html In this video, Hartman talks about how Hollywood is a God forsaken wasteland, how depression wasn't thing for kids back in the day because they just got through it, and how Oxias is going to change the culture and make kids, families. and America better. Based on this video and the information you provided, Family Friendly does mean anti LGBT+ and he is a fraud for not making that clear.

he was funny ten years ago when i was in high school. The fact that he's still doing the same shtick now is embarrassing. His loud voice is obnoxious, his skits aren't funny, he's a really awkward person when he does crossovers on James and mike mondays. He's also not nearly as smart or eloquent as he thinks he is, and the NotSoAwesome revelations make him seem really sketchy.

He used to be funny back in the day. However, as of late, he's become the guy who just kind of reviews recent movies with skits guy (seemingly because Channel Awesome is now a sinking ship and Demo Reel failed).
In a simple way to put it: if you wanted to put something out for the public to see, then you should be prepared for a public opinion. And that's a lot of different opinions, but at the end of the day criticism comes with everything you do. Whether you're a historian, mathematician, or in this case - an animator.
As a illustrator and writer myself, I know that criticism comes on a daily basis and not just positive criticism. My worst problem with creative writing is that I get so compelled with my words, that sometimes it doesn't make sense with all the synonyms I use. I appreciate when people tell me they don't understand a sentence because I then go back and read it and change it into a more simpler form. The feedback helps me develop my skill as a creative writer and I appreciate criticism. Beyond this, I also stand up for myself if I know someone's being just an arsehole without any actual beneficial feedback.
Butch needs to realise that criticism is feedback, and as an animator - criticism is vital for improvement. It's sad to know that he's accomplished as much as graduating from CalArts. He can't even take criticism for his own work. What a shame. That's the one thing you need to understand as an illustrator and writer - you'll always get criticism. And since he can't take criticism, and he's stupid enough to expect not to get any after announcing a stupid idea on the internet - he never should've became an animator. He puts shame on the industry for his behaviour to the public opinion. An opinion that wasn't even that bad. It makes him look ignorant.
There. That's my input and I haven't done anything spectacular. Tho I AM an animator and storyteller. Does that mean my opinion actually counts? Jks, I don't give a fuck if it does or doesn't. :p

I never watched any of Hartman's shows, just never interested me, so...I'm not hurt in the same way people who respected him are, but at the same time, it's still rather appalling what he's done.

Butch Hartman could gix a lot of problems with his reputation if he came out against ephebophilia, hebephilia or *pedophilia* specifying that he's not anti-gay. He hasn't said "sugar-cookies!" & that's the problem.
Sol was kinda annoying in this, tho i do totally understand the sentiment. Not saying that first part to be mean, but it felt like the cult thing was getting pretty forced and emotional vocal tone was a bit grating. I understand being upset about this situation, but just offering constructive criticism.
As for Butch, it especially disgusts me that not only does he hate lgbt people but he doesn't even have the guts to admit it. That response to an honest question from a fan was really terrible too. Ive never been the biggest Hartman fan. Fairly Oddparents was admittedly my fave show for awhile as a kid but I quickly grew out of it. Danny Phantom was cool in the first few episodes. The introduction to Vlad was the highlight and after that episode it never regained that level of excitement for me.
I think she has a point about the cult thing, it does seem like a cult mentality to me too. Not saying Butch is some awful mastermind, but it does feel a bit too cultish the way he wants everyone to put their faith in him.
i agree, its a total cult of personality. Not Joseph Stalin level, but still noticeable and off-putting. I just mean, the way she kept forcing that idea throughout the hour long stream was really annoying after awhile. You could kinda hear Pieguy getting irritated by it as well. At least, it felt that way to me.

Soo this shit has been going on since the early 2000s tbh, at least in terms of homophobia. Back when danny phantom was still on the air, butch had this like forum where fans of danny phantom would gather to write fanfiction and basically be a fan club. But people started posted gay ships and headcanons, as well as less than wholesome ships (I don't agree with Danny/vlad obviously but that was also apart of it.) So butch started deleting their stories. There was this whole divide between "true phans" (people who treated Butch's word as law and did not post things that butch disagreed with. People who take what he says as canon) and "antiphans" (people who wanted to play with Danny phantom as a concept and ship gay ships and headcanons LGBT characters.) To this day, there are many LGBT fans of danny phantom, myself included, that basically say "fuck bitch fartman, this concept is cool and I'm allowed to play with it. And danny is trans." Also side note: butch does have a tendency to use boys wearing girl clothes or being effeminate as lazy comedy, so there are many many times where he accidentally writes a gay character or a character that is accidentally very relatable to LGBT teens. He's so homophobic that he's an ally lmao.
Butch has also canonically had mpreg in fairly odd parents and tucker from Danny phantom is canonically a furry. So....like I don't think he actually knows what he wants lol

i be the first on to say as some with a bfa in sculpting and have practice ceramics here and there, butch as an artist is not even good. seems like de doesn't grasp basic color theory or the concept of shadows when considering the frequent offputting highlights one finds in his drawings, seems he doesn't show any understanding of lighting at all. not to mention lack of life in his drawing make as though he can only draw a hand full of human emotions.
I disagree with you guys when you say things like "he's running a cult-like business." I understand that his kickstarter idea was shit, but let's not turn to Alex Jones level of conspiracy theories. The guy probably is just misinformed about how the modern age of television works. Butch is definitely out of touch with the modern day tv audience, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he's cult-like. The man manipulated and played his fans and just turned out to be a gross human being in general. It is deeply saddening, and I feel sincerely sorry for those who donated to this kickstarter; to those who were duped by his hidden true intentions. They, as fans, did not deserve this treatment from a creator they thought they could trust. It is deeply unacceptable.

We're all grown adults here, not kids anymore, we know who Donald Trump and Shapiro and Peterson are, we know what Breitbart is, who Steve Bannon is, and what he believes. Whether you agree with it or not. Kids don't understand why parents may or may not make moral decisions, boycots certain things, or strike. If you can't figure out the difference between Butch Hartman's definition of "family friendly" and your's after 15 seconds looking at who Butch "follows" on Twitter then it's entirely your problem. If you support gay marriage, or if you oppose it, you have an ethical duty to ensure that you are not complicit in whichever you think is wrong. And I say this as a conservative Trump lover, but even I have an ethical problem with supporting blatant homophobia. That doesn't make me not complicit in homophobia, I still eat at Chik-fil-a and such. So if even I can acknowledge my current moral failing in remaining complicit, lets stop hemming and hawing. Just say: "I think wanting to have a place free of LGBTQ+ people is wrong". Its okay, no one should be offended by that, its an entirely defendable and reasonable position.

Based on this video and the information you provided, Family Friendly does mean anti LGBT+ and he is a fraud for not making that clear.
