You asked how my run was, so here it is! I started running last April and I was overweight. I could barely run a 5 km and that's pushing my heart rate to 200 bpm, almost passing out. Today I run my farthest (7.6 km) faster than my old 5 km pace, on a sub-ideal condition (just started my period, low blood pressure, and dehydrated) with moderate effort and I feel I could keep going! This stretch is lovely to close my small accomplishment today, thanks Ash!

This was a great stretching routine! I found a lot of guided stretch videos that are just music and they don’t explain how to do the stretch or why. I appreciate the fact that you explain it as you go. If you’ve ever watched me try to take a dance class you’ll understand why I can’t just copy what the person is doing if they don’t explain it well 😂

I've been a runner for over 10 years but was never great at fitting in a serious post-run stretch. You blew my mind pointing out the mental health benefits! I've realized that I can get better at running not only with training but also being more conscientious about how running fits into my day. I enjoyed this. I had never paid attention to post run stretches even after 4 months of running consistently. But it was telling on me, so I decided to search post run stretch on RUclips and found you. I just did a 5km run and this is cherry on top.
Love that the class started with pigeon and included lizard and wide legged straddle fold. Ended with some side stretches in that last position. Now to the rest of the day!
Been running for three years but haven’t really ever taken the time to stretch like this. Found myself giggling at some of the stretches as I start to realize that the mind is really connected to the body. Thanks Ash!

Update from a month ago: I started the Couch to 5k program almost 2 months ago & this is my staple stretch after my run and here's what I've noticed: On the days I've skipped out on it, my body has definitely let me know & the days i do stretch after, i feel so sooooo relaxed & limber the day after and recover so much quicker. Why are you good at explaining how to safely get in these deep stretches? I wasn't able to bend my back leg up...yet...but I was pretty deep. Seeing you do it with a band with narration might have helped. You are fantastic. I feel safe going into these poses as opposed to thinking I'll hurt myself.

I can’t thank you enough. These focused sequences have helped my recovery, flexibility and consistency of practice so much. It’s hard to find 30-90 minutes for a a full yoga practice and it feels great to move through your routine and come away feeling more flexible and centered. Thanks again.

Update from a month ago:
I started the Couch to 5k program almost 2 months ago & this is my staple stretch after my run and here's what I've noticed:
On the days I've skipped out on it, my body has definitely let me know & the days i do stretch after, i feel so sooooo relaxed & limber the day after and recover so much quicker.

Right at 5:31 when I brought my leg up it cramped instantly I don't think that's a good thing
Thats probably from tightness or lack of hydration. You can alter by having the foot on a sofa.
Great for a quick post run stretch! Not much thinking and talking, just simple and guided work.

Hi Ash! I wanted to tell you. I had my best day running, period today. My best 10k 52:30 , 5k at 25:24.a ll the way down the line. I'm 53 years young, and loving it. I did your pre bed stretches last night, and I think that made all the difference. Those plus your morning stretches put me in the right place. Thank you so much, my friend. I didn't start running until last Dec 15th. Your videos are life changing.

Why are you good at explaining how to safely get in these deep stretches? I wasn't able to bend my back leg up...yet...but I was pretty deep. Seeing you do it with a band with narration might have helped. You are fantastic. I feel safe going into these poses as opposed to thinking I'll hurt myself.

I’m coming here after my every run even tho I know all the stretches, just having you as a company feels nice. I even memorized nearly everything you say in the video 😂 I started running 5 months ago and I wouldnt believe I was gonna be able to run 4k today if they said so. I’m now realising the benefits of post run stretching and this was my first time doing your post run stretching video after my first 30K run!! It was unreal I feel so so good now. Thank you sir. I started training for a half marathon and encountered 2 injuries in a month. I’ve started using one of your pre and post-run stretch routines and it has (so far) helped so much, not just with injuries, but also with how I feel during runs. I feel more ready to take on the run than I did before. More prepared.

I can’t thank you enough. These focused sequences have helped my recovery, flexibility and consistency of practice so much. It’s hard to find 30-90 minutes for a a full yoga practice and it feels great to move through your routine and come away feeling more flexible and centered. Thanks again.
