@@IamAW ... resolution gets higher the bigger the screen is, and when the resolution doesn't match you will see borders qnd the image will get smaller/bigger. Smaller in this case
@@alongal407 First of all, that's not true. I have a 40 something inch TV that is 1080p, and a monitor that is 27 inch, but 1440p and there are big monitors that are not higher res. The reason his recording and text is small is because of the resolution, and you can get 24 inch monitors that are at least 2k (1440p). Secondly, it's not at all relevant to the conversation we were having.
@@IamAW I hope I'm not too late but I found this video again and this argument and we are both wrong, it's not size and it's not resolution, it's the aspect ratio, which is the ratio for how wide the screen is and how tall it is, and it doesn't have anything to do with the resolution, but it does have something to do with the size, if you scale a monitor along both it's width and height the aspect ration stays the same, but if you scale a monitor only along it's width or height the aspect ration changes. he had a very wide aspect ratio, since he had a wide monitor, and youtube needed to scale the whole image down so it can fit in our screen, and because of that we get borders at the top and bottom

Do you think sticking the Leap to the front of the Rift S at a lower position and a downward angle would help it track your hands without having to hold them up?
Why exactly do you need additional equipment like leap motion. If depth information is required, can't it be done using the duel camera setup which is the norm in phones nowadays?
Can you confirm that this is still working for you? I have tried recently, and although my Leap works, and I see Index Icons in the SteamVR window, I do not see my hands in SteamVR
@@adrinsko2368 Can u help me plz I did everything in the video and I don't see index icons still see the oculus touch ones and see oculus touch controllers in vr.
Can you do a video on how to get psvr working on your pc. I have seen some videos on it but I don’t have the PlayStation eye controllers and I don’t have the money to buy them
It's because they're not sold by Leap Motion on Amazon now. You can find the places they're available here: www.ultraleap.com/product/leap-motion-controller/
Thanks for the updated video! I was wondering about Leap and VR headsets. One question though, why do so many people put the Leap on the front of the VR headset? I'd just put it on the bottom so I don't have to hold my hands up so high.
The finger tracking on the quest can go much further then the leap motion. I do think it's better for a few reasons. First of all it has had more time to mature and therefore it is more accurate (for now) but also you can actually use it in games such as vrchat and others which you can't yet do with the Quests hand tracking.
@@WilsonBradleyTheOfficial for now yes. Because it works with all steam VR games. The Quests hand tracking is currently only a gimmick and doesn't work in any games. Once it does, the quest will be better. But for now because of lack of support the leap motion is better.
@@TheMysticle Having tried the Quest's hand tracking it's very horrible in dark environments due to having no IR illumination like the Leap Motion has. Plus, Leap Motion's software will have a new version coming out soon with even higher FOV and fidelity hand tracking, so look out for v5 drivers!

That iPhone 5 is pretty small to play vr on but to answer your question, yes. In fact I have tried it and it works :) if you had a Kinect you could do full blown head and body tracking too
I'm wondering the same thing.. it's what lead me here. :-) I'm glad Mysticle tried it. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't anyway. Riftcat convinces SteamVR that your phone is a VR headset, the Leapmotion drivesr etc convince it that you have index controllers so yah.. should work. :-)
I was wondering, since this can emulate controls like HTC Vive, I wonder if I use my Oculus Quest to connect to my PC and use that to get hand tracking, would it work?
I don't know man, some longer fingers in cr chat would have been nice. You can't really make out the joints in the fingers and if they are accurate. Robot for joints and human for skin texture
I get you :) The point was to show it can actually track the fingers, once it can track your finger movements you kind of know it can track your joints :)
not psvr but maybe the oculus go idk but psvr is a no but a gloves for the psvr are in development so be sure to get those if you are looking for hand tracking on psvr and it will also put pressure on you fingers when you pick up an object and restrict them from moving any further so I am gettin these gloves srry I wrote an entire freakin easy for you :/
A Kinect has no suitable software to hand track, its software is only made for full-body skeleton tracking and given its distance from your hands simply doesn't have enough resolution.
why would i need to buy a leap motion. I just want to buy the software. every headset with 2 front cameras can do hand tracking. the leap motion is basically just an expensive dual camera.
@@TheMysticle well Oculus don't have that and they seem to manage just fine. At least there is a reason but not really solid. It will work maybe not as good but from what I've seen Oculus solution is really solid if not even better.
