If you don’t add parts back, it means you didn’t take enough away. They added the blinker stalk back, but not the transmission stalk. Almost like they’re listening to customers?
the base model and long range are the best selling mass market models so they start with those and performance comes later. maybe they will offer 6 seat version with mid range model later on.
@ understood - I think not really intended to. And then also probably very different from regulatory area to another. E.g. ight be -possible- allowed in US, not in Europe ?
Tempted to order one here in AU. Something to bare in mind is we have LCT (Luxury car tax) being 33% for every $1 above $91,387. Amusingly I spec'd a Model Y dual in red, white interior and FSD for $91,450. Believe Tesla bumped FSD by $100 or would of come under LCT. Either way, slow golf clap papa Elon.
It’s a bummer that it doesn’t currently have a performance version although I suspect that will change in the not too distant future. I think the thing that is the biggest bummer of it’s not included would be steer by wire given it would be Tesla’s first being vehicle released since the cybertruck and if there not able to put steer by wire in the new model y questions might be raised about it’s car knowledge, and manufacturing prowess.
Sad there is no range increase. Will Tesla offer owners another "option" to unlock more range for extra $$$, like they did with my '23 Model Y? And badging? All sales gimmicks.
You'd think Tesla would step it up and come up with a new design especially with all the competition coming out. I guess Tesla fans will go the way of Apple fans and clamor over anything new tesla produces albeit minor changes.
I have mixed feelings about the refresh. I like the fact that they're bringing back the turn signal stalk, but just don't see the point of a power rear seat. It just seems to be one more thing to pay for and one more thing to break down. If Tesla REALLY wanted to add value to the Model 3 and Y, they should have added manual climate controls. I feel that overdependence on touch screens has been a major issue with Teslas. It could be distracting and it's just another thing that someone new to EVs has to figure out. Oh well, I guess I'm not a Tesla customer anyways. Have fun.
One good thing to note is that that there are new steering wheel switches which allow you to customize your most frequently used vehicle functions. So if you have trouble with the fan speed or adjusting the airflow, maybe these new customizable switches will help.
The front bumper campera is the biggest piece that’ll make FSD perfect. The POV of the front camera captures more than what our eyes can see.
FSD has always had a front camera
Not a front bumper camera. The windshield camera can’t see 3 feet in front of the car
what about binocular vision like humans have to allow it to get more accurate depth info of how far or close objects are?
@@TailosiveEVNo there actually is a new front bumper camera placed in the plastic bumper under the facelift.

Basically everybody that actually owns a refreshed 3 that I’ve talked to has no issue with the stalkless configuration.
Almost.-)
the stalk remaining is a WIN WIN.
Official pictures look so much better than the leaks lol 😅
I want to see that new blue in person, looks sick!
The aluminum speaker grill is also very nice in the interior and matches the ambient lighting with its shape!
Drew, you’re awesome!!!
You are greatly appreciated for bringing us these breaking news as you are on vacation in Australia.
Keep up the amazing work.
nice of you to continue uploading even when on vacation. 👍🏾👍🏾
Want the deep blue on the refresh.... the light blue sux.
The blinker stalk is back-glad to see this. Likely not here though. Nice car, always was.
The hood also beautifully scoops in from where the pillars end, it looks very slick and aerodynamic! Gorgeous!! ❤🎉
Would love to see the gear selector rolled into the right scroll wheel somehow 🤔.
So you could try to switch it accidentally while driving forward ?

The TS stalk is important.
Are the back seats also power recline?
Yes, as shown in the official Tesla video!
Hope you're having a great time in Australia. Hope you eventually get a chance to check out the NZ EV scene as well. Great reporting.
I can’t wait for the performance trim!
anyway to manually change the lightbar, I like the old design better then new one
? The old one didn‘t have one.
@@pan6593 I mean remove the lightbar to install headlights in car, can it be done
@ understood - I think not really intended to. And then also probably very different from regulatory area to another. E.g. ight be -possible- allowed in US, not in Europe ?
@@pan6593 if it is possible, i would like it that way
Drew, another channel noted the vehicle does have a power opening and closing frunk.
They better keep the stalks like the images show! Might make the switch to EV then.
if you come to Melbourne you should have a meet and greet with your viewers.
Thanks Drew for the breaking Tesla news!
While in Australia call a showroom and ask when it will be on display…
Deliveries start in May
I’m not seeing the bumper cam. All the site says it that there are front facing cameras
I think they wouldn't mentioned the front facing camera unless it's a new placement.

surely you can just get FSD after you get the car.
When can we order in the USA?
Unknown as of yet.
I was like that looks like Australia…
And confirmed lol

Where about are you in sydney? Centennial park?

The front light part could be better
Ah, another camera that will never need cleaning
+1 for stalks
The front is going on me with the back is not
Why china battery is 719km and australia 500 something
Long range model
The new variant is only out in japan and china!
The regions have different test cycles. The Chinese version is even more unrealistic.
I don’t like the back of it at all - just a big flat piece
I wish I could own a tesla but I live in an apartment):

No black exterior... make no sens
I hate the rear its so uglt

Tesla, please bring stalks back to the US!
This new Tesla Model Y still has the old stalks actually!!!
You should not try to be "first" and just put out a better video... See Ryan Shaw for tips.
First!
Buying an Equinox LT for $30k off the lot.
