I feel like I should have paid to watch this. Such a great video with so much detail, thanks to Espen for being so gracious with his knowledge and time.

I know this vid is 2 years old but i had to log in and leave a like and comment. The details in here about the normal bolo, that first 'wedge' position, the awkwardness of the way everyone shows going from the wedge to the twister hook, the grips and that arm detail - and the absolute genius of the x hook. This was so helpful along with your crab ride material, thanks!
I'm watching this hoping he shows certain details a lot of people miss. I've been berimboloed countless times from my Professor Samuel Braga and knowing these details are essential for a clean finish and also to learn how to defend efficiently. Great job, and I'm jealous your in Norway brother🤙
Espen is the best in explanation of crab ride's details. I watched different videos about CR, and it didn't helped, but after intricacies that he shared I really started feeling this position and now try to implement in my jiujitsu, thank you a lot
Thank you guys! I've been following both of your content in the past couple months and the detail and concepts of RDLR, X hooks, etc. are phenomenal..I feel like I'm cheating getting these details
Started playing and drilling this today - against good (great) crab and bolo players. Great advice towards the end in regards to various entries, being patient and not getting tunnel vision. Looking forward to more content on this theme.
Wow. Top level instruction. Hope you continue this series as it's relevant to some of the things I've been trying to improve. Thank you! Merry Christmas!
That's really well explayned! I do like this kind'a game (scrambles i mean) and there's some fine details in the video. Time for me to go the drawing board. Keep up with the great content in the channel, greetings from down south of Brazil!
Hey Jon, great video..I been deeo diving into berimbolo...studying different people, styles. You trained with and made some bolo videos with different people, what style bolo do you like...I see Espen never places his non dlr leg across the belly with his shin. Some people keep the non dlr knee outside the hip, some people seem like the are all the way across connected hip to hip....what do you prefer, what makes Espen's bolo unique? Thanks for the content as always !!!!
When attack my opponent's left leg for the bolo, is it alright to use my left foot hook the ankle while my right foot is behind the knee space. I find greater control doing that..
Jon Thomas is killing it with the BJJ content. my gosh, monstrous details and this is why Espen and Tommy excel in this position
Yeah they really have a lot of small details they make the difference, more videos coming soon!

Very enlightening! It made the berimbolo/matrix connection very clear and straight-forward to me now. It even connects to X-Guard! Mind blown!

É um ciclo! Um dia o gringo aprende BJJ com brasileiro, no outro o brasileiro aprender com o gringo KKKK
Obrigado ai vei, show!!!!
No locdown in Haugesund!
Yo Espen!!
Can you reasonably be expected to do this with a bigger, heavier opponent?
Absolutely Espen Mathiesen did this to Hulk Barbosa and beat him, Hulk is a heavyweight black belt world champion.
@@JonThomasBJJ thanks man. Love your vids, keep it up.
Anyone know what Gi espen is wearing?
What gi was espen wearing ?
My brain doesn't even comprehend this kind of stuff but I really want to learn it lol. Im gonna drill the hell out of this.
Just stick with it and it will start to make sense buddy. Gonna do a crab ride video soon too.
