My controller 'died'(works 100% fine on my PC) in the sense of zero connectivity. I paid something like 20 bucks on black Friday. The grip on the back of the controller never feels normal lol
I got mine today. Pikachu version at Target for $19.99. I immediately connected it and started playing Mario Kart. The controller is very responsive to turns and jumps so the stick and buttons are awesome. It's really light but the grip on it is dope. Obviously we are all getting it for Super Smah but this control looks to be legit. It's even better than my pro controller for Mario Kart. Let's see if the built is good and does not break down. Im waiting for the PDP control to arrive but I think I'll be using Hori.
Ok so as a guy who has 2 original gc controllers, bought the smash 4 gc bundle, bought another adapter with 3 smash ultimate gc controllers and bought this controller. I have to say this controller isn't bad at I mainly got it to play Tekken 7 and fighterz with but since the switch doesn't detect analog triggers the ones on the gc are useless and add unnecessary travel time. These on the other hand do not and even have all the buttons you need and click able thumb sticks.
I have a battle pad on the wii u which I primarily use for playing backup gamecube games. I love it, but it has two issues: the analog stick drifts every once in a while (not sure if its software or hardware related) and the left shoulder button (L on the gamepad) is not recognized by the console. This button doesnt exist on the original gc controller but on the wii u it is used by the gamepad, classic controller and other third party controllers as a shortcut for emulating a soft touch you'd get on the original ZL and ZR analog triggers. It is used in games such as mario sunshine and rogue squadron. Other than that I really must praise Hori for making it convenient for me to play gc games on the wii u.
so quick question, if you have used a PowerA gamecube controller, how does it compare to this? to me it seems like some of your minor issues with this controller are fixed on the other one (namely the triggers)
Adam Eason I haven’t tried the PowerA one yet! I hear the triggers push down more but are clicky unlike the OG GameCube controller. It could possibly be even better than the Hori one. I’ll be sure to upload a video on it if I get one in the near future.
Nintendo Enthusiast There is a review for the Hori GAMECUBE controller where he shows you how to remap the bumpers and triggers so it feels like a Pro Controller. The drawback is that the LED will be on to show that they have been swapped. You hold the shoulder buttons as you plug it in and the LED should light up
@@TNewtz to be honest it was availability, in Canada I couldn't find the PowerA even online, and ordering direct from PowerA is expensive with shipping and exchange I walked into a local EBGames and asked what they had it they had the Hori ones so I just went with it, never had a Gamecube so nothing to compare it with but the controller like most Hori products feels good quality and nice in the hands I sit at a monitor when gaming so wired is never an issue for me , if I wanted or needed wireless I am sure I would still be looking for that wireless PowerA one as it looks sweet and is getting good reviews
you can actually switch the shoulder buttons by holding them as you plug it in and releasing before the light goes off. I also think it will stay that way if you plug it back in,
I love Hori. I use their pad for street fighter and I love it. I have confidence in Hori on making amazing controllers. My brother and I are both getting these for ultimate. One thing that I saw in another video is that the sticks seem to draw lines more than the pro controller. What I mean by that, is if you go into the control stick setting on the switch and move the pro controller stick around it picks up every movement. But with this one, it seems to lock in the left right up and down direction, and only freely moves on the corners. Maybe you can try this out in a video?
Question - I'm using this for emulation purposes. Some games (Prime, Sunshine) have functions where you have to half press the L/R buttons. Is there any way to get that out of this controller? Or is that functionality just MIA with these?

Is compatible with PC?
Yes
If only it had those huge sexy plungers instead of shoulder buttons that the OG gamecube controller had, I would’ve considered it my dream controller. But hey, beggars can’t be choosers. It’s got a USB cable too, now I don’t have to sell my kidneys for an adapter!
I didn't know people actually liked those deep ass shoulder buttons
There's no need for them on switch other than nostalgia as the switch can recognize analog inputs only digital
Can't*
@@president.z2566 ikr, harder than others to press down on, my fingers were really tired after playing an hour or two with them
Does anyone know how to charge the Controller, do I need batteries?
Can you put the wire in the switch so I don't have to buy a adaptire
cloud strife yes it plugs into the switch dock without an adapter
Can you use this controller without a adapter?
Yes it's USB only
Does this work on a PC. I want to play some gamecube games on my PC so was wonder
It's a bit of an old comment, but yes! So long as you configure the controls in Dolphin, it works perfectly fine.
Do these controllers have issues with backdashing?
Smash Ult is not out yet, so no one knows.
I seriously doubt it.
Why does one have 5 buttons and the other one 4? The ones in the middle
All of the hori controllers have five the one on he middle of them is a turbo button which allows you to rapid tap a button just by holding it
@@dancystingray rapidly? How is this helpful. I can't think of a game that may need this.
Jean Carlo De La Luz it pushes it rapidly so for example let’s say your playing a shooter and your using a pistol of you activate the turbo you would then be able to hold the button so it pushes it rapidly. They are apparently so overpowered on competitive play they are banned
Does this work on a PC? thanks
How do you plug it in?
Does it work on a normal old wii?
Can I use this on my OG Wii too? I just bought it
PRIMΞ no I don’t believe so
@@Nintendoenthusiast damn..okay thanks tho
Does this controller work on the Nintendo Wii?
No it doesn’t
is it just plug and play for switch? no need for a wiiu gamecube adapter?
Nop its USB so you can use this control in TV mode
You can conect this control to the Dock :D
*(Sorry for my bad english :c)*
@@Jasflunfel ordered it yesterday. Can't wait
