I converted to Catholicism 5 years ago after living my life as a lukewarm protestant. I have 3 beautiful children that changed my life, but nothing changed my life like becoming Catholic. I have never felt so close to God. Why did I used to struggle alone when there's a whole football team in heaven and on earth who want to support me!? The biggest struggle for my conversion was the Marian doctrines. I realise now this doubt came from the devil as he fears her humility and devotion to God so much. I am deepening my devotion to Our Lady each day and every day she brings me closer to her son. She was the human being Jesus was closest to through his whole time on earth. She loved selflessly and Jesus wants us to know her love too! For any protestants struggling with this, this was the explanation that really helped me best to understand: the Sun is the brightest object we can look at - so bright that we can't look straight at it for fear of being blinded - this is God. The moon however is a beautiful reflection of the light from the sun and allows us to stare at the life saving beauty of the sun no matter how much darkness we're in. This is our Blessed Mother.
This is very woke. Being lukewarm is your fault. You need to take responsibility for your own carnal life instead of blaming someone else or some church for it. My prayer life is my responsibility, no one else’s. I see lots of lukewarm Protestants, orthodox and Catholics. Maybe you can start helping Catholics who are clubbing, swearing and sleeping around. Go and do some real evangelism.
Wow! Fellow Convert here and I hear my own experience reflected in yours! I had reached a stalemate in my Protestant experience after all the Church hopping from denomination to non denominational to just stay home and read your Bible.... Then one day I found myself in a Catholic Church and couldn't explain the feeling of absolute Peace I felt and the sense that I was in the *right* place❣️ I was so freaked out I ran away and didn't allow myself to think about it, but just before I fled and joined yet another denomination I had asked GOD clarify for me just where *Mary* fit in because it felt like She was given such an exaggeratedly exalted role and it wasn't clear why. I said GOD please let me know just in case I missed something in my assumption that I know my Bible and Christianity better than a Catholic and there's no need to even examine anything further about it! Well it took 3 months but when GOD gave me the answer it was like a thunderbolt and lightning striking me simultaneously! I was led to read Scott Hahn's conversion story in Rome Sweet Home and the book knocked me sideways to put it mildly. I literally became Catholic that same day, though I wasn't received into The Church until later. BTW I had been told about that book earlier but had flat out refused to even peek into it assuming it was written by a Catholic "idolator!" It was finding out that the author was in fact a Protestant Convert that had me racing at full speed to look into it because I didn't even think Protestants ever converted to Catholicism. I was sure it was a one-way journey the other way! Anyways 3 years in I can say Rosary Prayer is the most phenomenal weapon of spiritual warfare I have ever known in all my Christian life! I Love 💖 The Rosary like you love that one *Faithful* and trustworthy*friend* who has *never* failed to come running to your rescue even one single time that you ever called! I have suffered from depression and anxiety and lethargy and insomnia practically my whole life, but Rosary Prayer has become the one tool that seems to successfully address all these issues that tormented me for years and years. I pray Rosaries throughout my day for on going energy boosts or to calm me down if I'm too hyper and unfocused. And if something disturbs my sleep or I can't get to sleep at night, praying a Rosary usually gets me to relax and lose any fear or tension I was experiencing, usually by the 3rd decade at most! For the first time in my life I'm not afraid of the dark nights. I know if evil comes calling I've got my "goliath-slayer" ready to answer hell's malicious attacks with certainty that I will win this combat *not* them, because *Team* *Mary* doesn't lose to satan👊👊👊 As GOD promised in Genesis 3:15 satan would be put at enmity with *The* *Woman* and through her would get his wicked prideful lying head crushed! The Rosary is daily proof to me that that was no idle threat from GOD 🙌🙌🙌 No wonder satan hates Mary with a rage that cannot be described! She is the opposite of that first woman that believed and bowed to his lies and plunged us all into the abyss of misery and suffering we still experience today! Thank GOD for *another* *Woman* who listened to GOD'S Words through a Holy Angel and conceived Life eternal instead of death for all mankind! Sweetie, the rosary beads are a pagan form of worship, God tells us not to make pagan repetitive prayers (hail Marys) but the main thing is, you DO NOT pray to dead people (Mary and the 10,000 Catholic saints) praying to dead people is an abomination to God, they were sinful people just like you and me, they died and they do not hear or answer your prayers, you only pray to God the Father in the Name of Jesus Christ, God alone hears and answers our prayers, and you do not ask dead Mary to pray for you, or to intercede between you and God, Jesus Christ alone is our intercessor Who intercedes between us and God.
@@tridenfernandes9041 I do not understand your comment, but we live in a fallen pagan world, everything in this world right now is fallen and pagan except for those who read the Bible and pray to God every day have admitted and repented of our sins and have been spiritually born again by Gods Holy Spirit by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior by believing that Jesus was God on earth Who was born one of us to die and resurrect from the dead to defeat eternal death for us to reconcile us sinners with God to give us eternal life with Him, believing that Jesus Christ is coming back again at the end of this world to set up His eternal heavenly kingdom and all people will see Him and have our sins judged by Him. Even believers still mess up and sin from time to time but they do not live in constant sin. Believers will only be sinless after Jesus Christ returns and completes our transformation from sinful flesh to sinless eternal spiritual bodies.
As a ex Muslim then Protestant and now blessed to be Catholic I can tell you that meditating on the life of our blessed Lord alongside His holy Mother has amazing unbelievable power. Thank you Jesus for loving us. Fiat Lord!

@ANGIE B Hi Angie, I know what you mean about the rosary not being mentioned in the bible. The first half of the prayer is in the bible, and I think the beads are a way of helping us concentrate on the Holy Spirit. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it covers the world in love. The ‘Jesus Prayer’ is so beautiful and very biblical. I say it a trillion times a day praying for peace, family, the homeless etc. keep well. 🙏🌈✝️

The rosary is amazing at reducing blood pressure. All my rosary prayers are answered. Most often not in the way I wanted or expected. But in hindsight always in way that was better than I could have imagined. I also say the Jesus prayer. Amazing. Sometimes you can feel Him in the room with you.
Since the pandemic occurred we have been praying the Rosary daily! I can sincerely and honestly attest that it is indeed life transforming! Jesus can save people from Hell. Who better to ask to intercede on your behalf than the mother of God? Will her son tell her no? I pray the rosary with my husband every morning. The rosary changed my life. And so has the Blessed Mother and her apparitions. I’ve been around the world chasing and studying them. I feel sorry for those on this thread who comment negatively about loving the mother of God. After losing my own mother, I said, “well, Mary, you’re my mother now.” My life has been forever changed-in a glorious way.

This is an important topic enjoy the conversation I pray for conversion of Peter Jordan, I like Bishop Barron but sometimes I don't agreed with some of his theological Commons like, that everybody has a reasonable hope we will all go to heaven, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ never said that, it seems to me that Bishop Barron when he's talking to a Catholic he preaches the full truth but when he's talking to a non-catholic he Waters down the faith,, slow pray for a church leaders for their full conversion, and not be afraid to speak the truth, we are all going to answer to our Lord and savior one day

Great comment about the church trying to be too relevant. I left the united church of 🇨🇦 because they threw away Jesus basic teachings to try and garner attendance (that didn’t work at all, and if anything, it repelled me). I floundered a lot after that. I have a wonderful Lutheran church I attend. I really enjoy a lot of Catholicism, and pray for ecumenism and the uniting of all of our brothers and sisters in ✝️🙏🏻💞

There is only one intercession between God and Man, Jesus Christ. Ritual in’s you doing it. Grace is Jesus Christ being our all in all. He does not need Mary or any saint to get Him or the Father on Their good side.

So sad to see Catholics duped by the idea that the Son has causation. Causation belongs to the Father alone. Whatever characteristics are shared must be shared by all 3 Persons, otherwise the one Person without causation is subordinate to the other 2 Persons.

I respect Mary a great deal as the mother of Jesus Christ. She did offer sacrifices as it was a custom, and I reckon she would have never appreciated her being venerated or prayed to the way it has been done. I hope Doctor Peterson takes this into account🙏✝️
She’s appeared to people and prayed the rosary with them. She loves bringing us to our Lord. God listens to her prayers. When we are close to our Mother we are close to her son and spouse. I thought I would never love her when I was converting to Catholicism for other reasons. Yet, it was Mary who brought me closer to Jesus.

All people who have repented of sins and have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior who paid for their sins will not be condemned by their sins at the final judgment. Read the Bible for yourself, don't let anyone else priest or otherwise tell you what the Bible says or what it means, and pray to God yourself everyday so that you can have a loving personal one-on-one relationship with God with no religion in the way.

The Bible existed BEFORE man was created. Jesus Christ IS the Bible, He is the Bible incarnate, the Bible come to life in the flesh. God told Adam and Eve right after the sin in the garden that a Savior would be sent to save us from our sins (Genesis 3:15, the "Seed" with a capital "S" is Jesus Christ) The Christians in the world before God used men as amanuensis to dictate His Word the Bible to, were told by God that a Savior would be sent to save mankind from sin and they BELIEVED and looked FORWARD to the coming of Jesus Christ, and we, AFTER Jesus Christ has already been born one of us to die and resurrect for our sins, BELIEVE that He has already come once to pay for our sins and await His second coming, His RETURN at the end of the world to set up His eternal heavenly kingdom. The danger of the Catholic church is that it engages people who want to be good Christians in false worship of dead people, Mary and thousands of saints, and popes and the Catholic church teaches that faith in Jesus Christ alone is not enough for salvation which is a dangerous lie if the members of the Catholic church believe it. The catholic church falsely teaches that you must do many things besides having faith in Jesus Christ and accepting Him as you Savior to be saved, they teach you must be baptized to be saved AND perform infant baptism, AND you must receive the Eucharist and many other sacraments AND obey the decrees of the Roman Catholic church AND perform meritorious works AND not die with any mortal sins AND etc, etc, etc. Jesus Christ alone is our Savior and He needs no help from the Catholic church, or Mary, or saints or popes or our good deeds. A true born-again Christian is someone who follows Jesus Christ pure and simple. Someone who repents of their sins and believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Bible and who has been spiritually born again by Gods Holy Spirit by truly accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior by believing that He was born one of us to die and resurrect from the dead to pay for our sins for us to reconcile us sinners with God to give us eternal life with Him. A true born- again Christian has a personal one-on-one relationship with God by reading the Bible for their self and not letting anyone priest, religion or otherwise tell them what it says and what it means and by praying to God for themselves with no religion in the way and confessing to God and God alone of their sins. Repent of sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior TODAY and have a great eternity reconciled with God!

I converted to Catholicism 5 years ago after living my life as a lukewarm protestant. I have 3 beautiful children that changed my life, but nothing changed my life like becoming Catholic. I have never felt so close to God. Why did I used to struggle alone when there's a whole football team in heaven and on earth who want to support me!? The biggest struggle for my conversion was the Marian doctrines. I realise now this doubt came from the devil as he fears her humility and devotion to God so much. I am deepening my devotion to Our Lady each day and every day she brings me closer to her son. She was the human being Jesus was closest to through his whole time on earth. She loved selflessly and Jesus wants us to know her love too!
For any protestants struggling with this, this was the explanation that really helped me best to understand: the Sun is the brightest object we can look at - so bright that we can't look straight at it for fear of being blinded - this is God. The moon however is a beautiful reflection of the light from the sun and allows us to stare at the life saving beauty of the sun no matter how much darkness we're in. This is our Blessed Mother.

Wow! Fellow Convert here and I hear my own experience reflected in yours! I had reached a stalemate in my Protestant experience after all the Church hopping from denomination to non denominational to just stay home and read your Bible....
Then one day I found myself in a Catholic Church and couldn't explain the feeling of absolute Peace I felt and the sense that I was in the *right* place❣️
I was so freaked out I ran away and didn't allow myself to think about it, but just before I fled and joined yet another denomination I had asked GOD clarify for me just where *Mary* fit in because it felt like She was given such an exaggeratedly exalted role and it wasn't clear why. I said GOD please let me know just in case I missed something in my assumption that I know my Bible and Christianity better than a Catholic and there's no need to even examine anything further about it!
Well it took 3 months but when GOD gave me the answer it was like a thunderbolt and lightning striking me simultaneously! I was led to read Scott Hahn's conversion story in Rome Sweet Home and the book knocked me sideways to put it mildly. I literally became Catholic that same day, though I wasn't received into The Church until later.
BTW I had been told about that book earlier but had flat out refused to even peek into it assuming it was written by a Catholic "idolator!" It was finding out that the author was in fact a Protestant Convert that had me racing at full speed to look into it because I didn't even think Protestants ever converted to Catholicism. I was sure it was a one-way journey the other way!
Anyways 3 years in I can say Rosary Prayer is the most phenomenal weapon of spiritual warfare I have ever known in all my Christian life! I Love 💖 The Rosary like you love that one *Faithful* and trustworthy*friend* who has *never* failed to come running to your rescue even one single time that you ever called!
I have suffered from depression and anxiety and lethargy and insomnia practically my whole life, but Rosary Prayer has become the one tool that seems to successfully address all these issues that tormented me for years and years. I pray Rosaries throughout my day for on going energy boosts or to calm me down if I'm too hyper and unfocused. And if something disturbs my sleep or I can't get to sleep at night, praying a Rosary usually gets me to relax and lose any fear or tension I was experiencing, usually by the 3rd decade at most! For the first time in my life I'm not afraid of the dark nights. I know if evil comes calling I've got my "goliath-slayer" ready to answer hell's malicious attacks with certainty that I will win this combat *not* them, because *Team* *Mary* doesn't lose to satan👊👊👊

The first half of the prayer is in the bible, and I think the beads are a way of helping us concentrate on the Holy Spirit. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it covers the world in love. To counter this claim implies a limitation of the degree of mercy and grace to be shown by God. Significantly the Bishop does not everybody DOES go to heaven, merely that it is reasonable to believe everone does. To claim belief in Jesus Christ yet place limitations on t elevel of His grace and forgiveness seems theologically unsound.

Great comment about the church trying to be too relevant. I left the united church of 🇨🇦 because they threw away Jesus basic teachings to try and garner attendance (that didn’t work at all, and if anything, it repelled me). I floundered a lot after that. I have a wonderful Lutheran church I attend. I really enjoy a lot of Catholicism, and pray for ecumenism and the uniting of all of our brothers and sisters in ✝️🙏🏻💞

This in talking about repeating prayer as in the pegan religions is the major distinction. We give our trust and faith to the Lord for his will not ours. • “Vain,” or useless, prayer is the key here. Matthew 6:7 echoes Elijah’s showdown with prophets of Ba’al in 1 Kings 18:26-29. Elijah mocks them because he knows their hours of repeated prayers are useless - there was no one to answer. This was typical of pagan worship in Jesus’ time too. The Gentiles believed they had to repeat their prayers over and over, both to appease their gods, and for their gods to even hear and answer them at all.
Jesus’ point about vain repetitions is that prayer to “gods” who are not gods at all is always vain. But he also has a message for our prayer life too: the words we address to God must come from the heart, not simply “empty phrases” or thoughtless prayer.
• Repeated prayer itself is certainly not bad. Scripture is packed with such prayers - many of them recited in the actual presence of God. • The Great Hallel, Psalm 136, recited at every Passover and many other solemn occasions, has a repetitive framework integral to the Psalm itself, and also repeats the phrase, “for his steadfast love endures for ever,” 26 times.
• Similarly, the great fiery furnace prayer of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:35-65 repeats the phrase, “Bless the Lord … sing praise to him and highly exalt him for ever” 31 times. God not only hears their repetitive prayer and rescues them, but converts King Nebuchadnezzar in the process.
• In Luke 18:3-9, Jesus uses the parable of the persistent widow and unjust judge to teach his disciples that they “ought always to pray and not lose heart.” This widow “kept coming” to the judge, saying the same thing: “Vindicate me against my adversary” - essentially a repeated prayer. Jesus then confirms that God will quickly answer those “who cry to him day and night” repeatedly asking for his help.
• In Mark 14:33-39 Jesus himself repeated his own prayers: “remove this chalice from me; yet not what I will, but what you will … And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.”
Scripture clearly teaches that not only is repetitive prayer permitted and encouraged, it is answered. Repeated prayers are exactly what go on “day and night” in God’s presence.
No Catholic is asking for their will to be done. Catholics always ask that Gods will be done!

She’s appeared to people and prayed the rosary with them. She loves bringing us to our Lord. God listens to her prayers. When we are close to our Mother we are close to her son and spouse. I thought I would never love her when I was converting to Catholicism for other reasons. Yet, it was Mary who brought me closer to Jesus.
