Thank you Rob for the idea of the stars strips and diamonds quilt. It tugged at my heart, and I was so inspired to make it in a king size so I created it for my son with the leftover 2 each stars diamonds I made matching pillows. I also shared a photo of the finished project on a private message board. I'm also planning to place in a local quilt show. I enjoy the videos you produce. Have a blessed day,and happy sewing.
Ah, the humble little half square triangle! So simple but so versatile! I am working on a half square triangle quilt right now I am calling Kaleidoscope. Can't wait to share it with you on social media!
Man I really wish my husband would quilt along with me I should get him to watch your channel. Imagine how much fabric I could buy if he were a quilter too haha!
Hi from the UK! I just love your video's, especially Quilting! This one is super awesome! I am a beginner at quilting, but I find you are a great teacher, I have learnt so much from you already! Thanks so much & please keep posting new video's! btw.....you are incredibly handsome too! Bonus!
@1:24 Wow, you trimmed your triangles at that stage, I've been doing it at a later stage and your way seems so much better. I LOVE those aha moments I get watching your videos!
Awesome quilt tutorial Rob ! This would be a great gift for a young man graduating from college....( maybe in his college school colors ? ) Honestly, I really like the black and white....it's really awesome !
Beautiful! I like the idea of using bigger hst's to make bigger blocks. Also would love to see it in a print or other color like, blues. Thank you! Can't wait to meet you at my guild next year.
Wow, I love how these simple blocks come together! I've been looking for a good pattern for my son, and this is it! He's going to love it! Thanks, Rob, for another great idea!
wondering how it would look if you turn the stripes that come together in the middle of the quilt to form a large diamond with a black center....also if you work from layer cakes and make 8 HST's from each pair , you can avoid the bias edges on the blocks. Love this quilt. Thinking high contrast scrappy, maybe with cool colors for stripes and diamonds and warm colors for stars....so many options! Maybe once get moved and caught up on customer quilts!
Love, love, love this quilt!!! I’m going to try making just one quadrant with small print 30s fabric all in pink for making a bordered baby quilt. I can make my HSTs a few at a time on days that I don’t have much time to quilt. Thank you! I love this.
This design is amazing! I'm making my mom a quilt and already have all my hst- but I think I'm going to try and lay it out like this and see what it looks like with more traditional prints.
I think if you did the easy 8 method, your HSQ will be much larger than the ones Rob used. As Jenny always says, I am "angley" challenged, but if I am thinking correctly with charm packs, Rob would get 16 from a layer cake (4 charm squares in a layer cake slice and 4 HSQ from each). So the quadrants would be a lot bigger.
Love that quilt I want to make one I have a lot of half squares left over from a quilt I was doing n I wasn't sure what to make so thank you I am going to make your quilt . Love that look
Started working on this using royal blue and dark lime green . It looks good, however I have found you have to be exact (and I am not). The squares have to be exact especially with the stripes. The other two squares are a tiny bit forgiving, but not much. Thankfully I decided to make three test squares. I will not give up and in between my other projects will make one at a time. It isn't a race (I have to keep telling myself that) and it will be great when finished.
Just ordered the black prints from MSQC. Can't wait to get started and I may throw in a red square somewhere in there for a spot of contrast. :D Awesome idea Rob. I love how easy you make something that looks really complex. I foresee about one meelion half square triangles in my future. lol One question for you, Rob. On the link to the materials, you say 3 black and 3 white charm packs. But I noticed the pattern that you can buy calls for 4 of each. Just wanted to be sure how many to buy so I don't end up short on my project. :) I did buy the pattern too. Love to support the teachers from whom I learn. :)
Hi Brandy! Thank you so much for your support! I'm so happy to hear you will be making this quilt. It does take 4 charm packs of both black and white. Sorry about that confusion. Hope you enjoy making this quilt! :)
I love your pattern and tutorials! My wish is that you would include your dimensions in your tutorials. I would love to make this quilt only bigger and would like to know how big this one is and how many charms packs that you actually used. I can't order them if I don't know how many I need. Thank you for your help amd your tutorials. I have made several of your patterns!
what a great quilt, please make more of these. It would look beautiful in red white blue. I wonder how it would look scrappy? Since there's 4 quadrants how big is that quilt?
Glad you enjoyed the tutorial! This is the first version of the Stars, Stripes and Diamonds, so I haven't experimented with any other fabrics, but I think the sky's the limit! I can't wait to see what you create!

LOVE THIS!!!
I think I will use Jenny’s quick 8 method for hst and make this quilt using 10in squares starting out! Thank you for such a awesome quilt tutorial!
That's a great idea, Christine! Hope you have fun making this quilt!

Brandy Meyer yep I know they will be larger 😊 I think it would make it just large enough for a king if I added a border.
Thank you! Looks like fun!
Love it!

Brilliant!!!👏👏👏😍
Love this! I think I will try one that is just a large X
Thank you for another great quilt tutorial. I think I would use the magic 8 method for the hst, as bias edges and me don't get along well.
I love your pattern and tutorials! My wish is that you would include your dimensions in your tutorials. I would love to make this quilt only bigger and would like to know how big this one is and how many charms packs that you actually used. I can't order them if I don't know how many I need. Hello Livia, thank you for your feedback. This quilt finished at about 60x60 inches after quilting. I used 8 total 5" precuts (four of each color).
Man Sewing Thank you!
Wonderful I love it and not hard to do thank you
thank you Rob. really do love this quilt. this will probably be my next project!
what a great quilt, please make more of these. It would look beautiful in red white blue. I wonder how it would look scrappy? Since there's 4 quadrants how big is that quilt?

Love this❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Binding & backing??? Love this design, definitely going to give this a try. Thanks
Hi Nana! Rob used 4.25 yards of Kona Cotton black yardage to back and bind this quilt. Thanks for tuning in!
This is a major modern quilt and my oldest would love it! It's almost hypnotic. Did you mention the size it is?
Hi Joyce! It is about 60 inches by 60 inches after it is quilted. Thanks for tuning in!
I will probably add a border to it in solid black. Thanks! I love it!
I love this quilt. You did not mention the size. If I wanted to enlarge it can I just add quadrants?
Love this quilt Rob , but I could not tell the difference in the triangle black pieces when you were putting them together.
Just love this how many charm packs of each colour pleas
4 each
It might be fun to use, say, red for the diamonds and perhaps bright yellow or blue like your shirt for the stars, doing the stripes in black.
That sounds like fun, Mari! Hope you enjoy making this quilt!
