I’m going to take my first cruise from New-York to Southampton next year (yes, I’m that kind of crazy! 😅), and I think I would have liked to be on the same ship as you, you seem like really nice people! We are doing the exact same itinerary. My wife booked it after we did a similar one this past spring out of Miami on the Explorer. Changed rooms in Barcelona, and went on to Ravenna and spent 3 days in Venice. We got real nuts, and decided to fly to Barcelona next August, Barcelona to Southampton, on to Iceland, Greenland, Nova Scotia and ending in Boston for 23 days straight.

    My 2nd ever cruise was a transatlantic, Madeira to Port Canaveral. We absolutely loved it. The people are so different on TA it’s a different pace and it feels special. We then did a week in America as it was my first time to the states (NY & Orlando) before flying back to the UK. We then did another the following year and spent a week exploring the west coast of America before flying back. I get 8 weeks of annual leave per year, so plenty of time to do one of these. We also do a week med cruise in June and a couple of land based week long trips but I always have a special place for the TA vibe. Looking to book our 3rd TA next year and go to Mexico at the other end, can’t wait 😁

    Awesome, thanks for the info. I’ve wanted to do a TA but am afraid that I won’t do well with such a long trip. Husband and I tend to be homebodies though we have traveled and taken cruises and fairly short road trips. . We’ve done 9-10 day cruises and am definitely ready to go home toward the end. I enjoy sea days and hate trying to cram so much when you have so many back to back ports yet too many sea days back to back does bring on a sense of boredom . You are right, that’s on us to find things to do. I imagine working as you describe helps with avoiding boredom.

I think that willingness to go explore on your own is just a great thing. Not sure if this is your first time to Barcelona but we loved it there. Not being a big party person means that the cruise will be perfect for you. There will be plenty for you to do without feeling overwhelmed by a party atmosphere. Have a great time and keep watching the videos. We really appreciate the support while we grow the channel.

    I love a transatlantic! I'll be doing my 3rd TA next year - Southampton to the Caribbean. Both previous times the Atlantic was like a millpond - really calm, with just a bit of rocking and rolling in the notorious Bay of Biscay, which was actually quite fun😊 By the way, Malaga is pronounced exactly the way Robin said it the first time - no correction necessary!😂

    What kind of cabin did yall have? Balcony splurge necessary?

    • @nevertooblank
      @nevertooblank  4 месяца назад +3

      We personally had an interior cabin. That’s typically the way we like to travel whenever we’re on a cruise ship. I know there’s many people that love the balconies and we do have had them in the past that we did enjoy but for us the interior cabin gives us everything that we need. If you were somebody that absolutely needs to be able to see the ocean from your cabin then the balcony price is worth it, but if you don’t have to have it, spend your money on other things and save it on the cabin.
