We have done 5 or 6 repositioning cruises to Europe and loved them all. We like fall repositionings from Europe back to US since one of the bad parts of these cruises is the long airline flight to or from Europe. We like the fall since you get the flight out of the way at the beginning of your vacation, so you don't have to dread the long flight home at the end of your trip. Since there are so many sea days on this type of cruise, we only take the larger ships because they have more types of activities onboard for sea days.
We will be doing our 5th TA this November over the last 9 years. 4th westbound, 1 eastbound. All on Princess, free laundry is great. We really like the 25 hour days coming home from Europe.
That's awesome! Yeah you are right about going in that direction - really is great getting that extra time. Even eastbound is ok - though you give them back it is a much more gracious one hour at a time vs. a flight :)
We did a transatlantic in April to England and loved it. The ship was the RCL Jewel of the seas - an older ship with few bells and whistles but we loved the trip.
Really nice class of ship - we were on the Radiance of the Seas a couple of times which I believe is very similar. And, many times these slightly older ships are a far better deal. I've seen 50% or more lower vs. the newest. Glad you enjoyed it.
Leaving for our 8th cruise in March. This will be our first transatlantic cruise from Port Canaveral to Southampton on the Celebrity Eclipse. Thank you for the great information on repositioning cruises!
Fantastic. The Eclipse is a great ship - I believe we have been on that one three times and enjoyed all the sailings. Glad you were able to find a deal and get it booked. Enjoy :)
I have so many questions! 😅 And I'm so glad I found your video. I've begun to get acquainted with the different options for transatlantic cruises recently. We're planning on coming back from Europe by ship this fall. I'm not quite getting that term you're using? And the many choices are daunting.. but I'm going to try to enjoy the process!
Glad you are looking into them. It's a great way to go coming back from Europe especially if you have the time. If you have any questions, just let us know. Thanks for watching.
Heyaa! RUclips recommended me this video on my feed and it's really good! Kudos to the efforts that you're putting Actually, I had some ideas to share about your youtube channel! but I'm not really sure if it is the best time?
Great video! Never heard of Cruise Plum but that's a game changer. Which type of room on Odyssey did you have for the price you quoted (I think it was around $2400)? Thanks.
Usually I will just pick the pricing for the basic inside room and balcony. It might not be mid-ship if it's the cheapest available - expect to sometimes pay a bit more if you are midship vs. back/front sections. Thanks for watching!
Yes,on this cruise it was pretty close. However, on a repositioning there are very few kids or very few people staying with 3-4 per cabin -- mostly 2 (or solo) - so while most cabins were likely full, it actually is ends up being well below max capacity for these reasons. Hope that helps and thanks for commenting.
We're actually returning on the same ship in the fall to get back towards home. Difference is this one debarks in New York instead of Florida. Otherwise very similar including the pricing.
Barcelona is usually still nice that time of year - once you get into the Atlantic expect it to be a bit cooler than what you'll experience in Barcelona and perhaps your first stops but we've had glorious weather before including days you could lay out in the sun. There's always the chance of rougher seas - we've been fortunate - so just be sure if you are prone to any motion to have a remedy for that. Weather is unpredictable but we've had good runs across.
Thanks for the feedback. I do not disagree at all if this is vacation and you are someone who does not have to keep connected or work. In our case, we are traveling full-time and managing businesses that we own so we cannot disconnect. Internet for us is key. The good news is it's available, and if you don't need it - that's great as well.

Sounds like you're going to be on the Odyssey on Nov 3 out of Civitiveccia. My wife and I are also booked on that sailing
Yep, coming up quickly. We are in Rome now and will be for a couple of weeks. Will be ready to sail. See you onboard.

Thanks for the informative video. We will be taking our first transatlantic cruise in March of next year.
That's awesome - glad to hear. We'll be doing another one that time as well from Florida to Barcelona. What cruise line did you pick?
@@DigitalRoamadsDR Princess. We are working on getting elite status with them.
We will also be on the November 3 sailing from Rome to Cape Liberty.
Awesome! We're very much looking forward. See you out there.

Was the number of guests at capacity or what would you say ?

@@DigitalRoamadsDR Thanks for the reply
I disagree with your internet addiction while cruising. There are many ways to be entertained without being on media.
