Sometimes it’s a lose lose. I’ve always tried to be a patient advocate but ultimately dr has the last say. If dr says d/c patient then you can’t do much often. You get sh***on and belittled on for questioning.
I had high blood pressure, and no way did my doctors send me home with meds to self monitor. I was sent to the ER, then I was admitted. Gave birth prematurely, and we both lived.

I had that, too. Preeclampsia. They took my daughter out at 24 weeks. It was a scary situation, but we both made it. She just turned 13. She’s taller than me, and a straight A student 🥰
Same here. I called my doctor with my symptoms and was told to go directly to labor and delivery. I was induced at 36 weeks. You can’t mess around with preeclampsia.

Not only was this malpractice, it was pure stupidity. This poor man now will suffer for the rest of his life. It’s just disturbing 😳
You only deliver in certain situations in a preterm case. She was actually being managed appropriately....she was on Labetalol three times a day...and had follow up the next day. Unfortunately, she had eclampsia...which can happen to anyone with high blood pressure. This is very sad. But not anyone's fault.
I was in the hospital for 5 days after my c-section. the doctor wouldn’t let me go because my BP was so low. 69/30, I didn’t feel bad, since I was on meds, but my doctor was like, no way your leaving yet. I understand now why he made me stay. I’m so sorry for your loss.
My 32 year old daughter had the same issue...she had heelp syndrome a rare disease similar to preeclampsia. 1 in 3 cases are fatal. Fortunately my daughter survived but only because I'm a nurse and her dad is a physician. She went to the ER 3 times and finally they did lab work and diagnosed the syndrome and treated her. I feel terrible for this beautiful family. May God bless and keep her Fiancee.
This is so sad. I’m from the same city as this couple, delivered my baby at the same hospital. I also had Dr. Park, only for one visit. I did not like the way I was treated, and switched doctors. At 39 weeks I went to the ER at this same hospital because I was not feeling well, my blood pressure was sky high. I was admitted that night, given medication to lower my blood pressure, my doctor broke my water, and I was given medication to induce my labor. It was scary, but me and my son are alive and well almost 15 years later. Thank God!
This was fully preventable. She could have absolutely survived this had she experienced a competent doctor who showed the most basic standard of care. Unforgivable.
How horribly sad, could you imagine, taking your wife in to the hospital and having to return home alone, and having to deal with all that stuff?!? I think I'd have to abandon the whole house
Child birth deaths among minority women are more common because they are generally forgotten about when delivering care. It is an issue that is now just coming into the light. Please read up in it
The second part. With the placenta is bad as well. I had not even held baby yet and my doctor pulled and got me to bush for it to come out. Then my whole uterus came out with it. Doc had to go elbow deep in me to get it back in place. I almost died.
@@lilmamagc It can happen. I believe it's called a uterine prolapse, and it can happen even if you don't have children. That said, it's not very common and as such if I were you I wouldn't let it affect my decision on whether or not to have kids. I hope this clears some things up :)
I was admitted to the hospital with preeclampsia, to attempt to get my BP down, for 3 days, monitoring me around the clock. The Dr's delivered me on the 4th day, I had a healthy baby & recovered quickly. That was 29 years ago. She should've been admitted as well. So sorry for this family's tremendous loss.

hospitals will not admit women who are swelling short of breath. and its just so hard on their hearts. in our hospital they often discharge you and want you to be evaluated later and manage at home… always trust your instincts and keep advocating and coming back! RIp mama and baby .
Yes! I had swelling and shortness of breath postpartum, after an extreme case of hypermesis gravidarum all 9 months. I went into my c section so malnourished. I had to go to the ER 3 times after and they kept saying it was normal after c section…the swelling was so bad I couldn’t wear shoes….trusted my gut and google and I had postpartum cardiomyopathy/congestive heart failure. I will ALWAYS advocate.
When this happened to me my doctor IMMEDIATELY delivered my baby ! This is horrible how are you going to send a women who swelling and has HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE home WTH 🤦♀️ ladies if this ever happens to you please go to another hospital immediately! This is simply disgusting and could’ve easily been avoided by doing an emergency c section or delivery Rip to baby mama and her baby boy I can’t even imagine the pain this man went through his family erased due to mal practice
Almost happened to my granddaughter. Baby did die...she almost did. Hemmorage after preeclampsia. Kept ignoring...sending her home til she was critical. Then couldn't get IV in. They just don't care.
Two pregnancies for me. Each one I had preeclampsia at 22 and 23 weeks. Curious about what her pressure was. Once elevated I spent a night in the hospital with each. Sent home on bed rest and to lay on left side as much as possible. I was told bp meds won’t help, only delivery. This 2000 and 2003. I hear lots of stories where women are given meds so curious if that’s a new thing. By 32 weeks and 33 weeks I was induced. Small babies but healthy. 4 lbs, so My daughter was kept 10 days in her easy bake oven so she would gain weight. 5 lbs a must to go home. Second just under 6 lbs. I was kept longer because I hemorrhaged severely about 5 hours after birth. At 32 , 33 weeks pressures were too high and too risky. I went to my doctor twice a week for testing until birth.

They would come like every hour pushing on my abdomen to make sure there was nothing left over, like prices of the placenta bc they said that if there was even a piece left it could become attached to the walls and cause a number of issues that would become potentially FATAL, like serious infection and even hemorrhage later on. I can't imagine a Dr or hospital saying there was no urgency in removing the placenta! My sister has a rare heart condition, she shouldn't have gotten pregnant but she was only 18 at the time and didn't really realize the severity. She obviously was showing distress and complications but failed to tell the Drs of her medical history, luckily went with her and told the Dr of her the type of illness and he immediately sent her to a hospital in a bigger city equipped to accommodate her needs, she pretty much stayed there until they really couldn't wait much longer and did a C Section, she went into congestive heart failure, but THANK YOU GOD, my nephew was fine and she became fine once out of the woods! It did cause her heart issue to worsen and with that is high blood pressure, she was told if she ever got pregnant again, the pregnancy alone would kill her bc her heart can't take it, they said she wouldn't make it last the first trimester! That's a scary thought. They were gonna do a hysterectomy for free, but then some idiot that wasn't a dr or even familiar with her history or condition talked her out of it while she was still groggy and under sedation, idt she still didn't realize what that would mean. Her husband went and had a vasectomy, that's a good man, they're still married and they're son whis bday is tomorrow just had a son with his gf 6 months ago! The point I started out to make in that story is that the only Dr knew the risk of her high blood pressure and her heart condition (only 20% of The World is known to have this specific disease, some medical professionals don't have enough experience to take on her case even and have had to refer her to other facilities in other states) but the bottom line is the Dr knew she was high risk needed full on medical attention and surprised was not gonna let her go home, that is both of the hospitals knew the importance and urgency of her condition and of her high blood pressure among other factors and she wasn't going ANYWHERE! Lastly, my mom had a prolapsed uterus she had three kids, the last one she carried with i like that! And yes you can see your own uterus if that happens (you don't have to be pregnant for it to happen tho)! She said at first she had a circle of Drs and medical professionals around her baffled! (This was 1986) they called in another ob-gyn and he manually had to turn & flip it back up in place! Just the thought makes me cross my legs and squirm! She said that when he did that it was the worst pain that's shes EVER experienced, and she been through a lot since then) she said the pain from it made her so sick she turned greenish and nearly passed out!
That's medical malpractice. Fucked up that a pretty wife and new momma had to die for the negligence of medical advice. Poor man has to bury his wife and newborn. That's beyond fucked up. Because, once you have the love of your life and you make a family with them, and then they are taken from you, it is hard to love again, because no matter who comes into your life to love you like your wife or husband did, is gonna be a challenge, because NOBODY can take the place of your one true love. I do hope he is able to move on eventually, because I'm sure his late wife would hate for him to have to go this life alone and single. This is what happens when you place too much damn faith in doctors and nurses.
It is not the nurses fault that the patient was sent home. Stop blaming the nurses!!
With theae new ablortiin laws theze days theyd blame the husband (since the wife died)
Horrible
I bet no one took the time to sit down with this woman and teach her how to eat a nutrient dense diet which wouldve easily prevented this.
Are you stupid?? It has nothing to do with diet or weight.. it just happens
The only tragedy during pregnancy is a healthy birth.
I don't see negligence
This is so rude of you , this man is hurting so badly and you see no negligence, wait for a court of law to rule
They didn’t really release enough info for us to know. How high was the BP, was it responding to meds, etc.
