Un Mamady en feu !!! C'était avant que la vague Djembé submerge la France !! On croirait une session organisée autour d'un feu avec les potes, roulage de bedos, binouzes ...sauf que la tu as des maîtres aux manettes ! Excellent d'authenticité !

Mamady Keita ( rip) on solo
      Famoudou Konaté on solo
      Daouda on Doumdoum. Great time!
      Sylvie Kronewald the female drummer.
Rainier Dorer, Ralle Domonick all from Germany . Later Beno Klandt from Bonn joined the group and myself Samsom from Bonn . I went to Guinée in Gbesia where Famoudou had a compound and in Simbaya as well. Later on I spent about 2 months in Kouroussa the village of Famoudou. Grand Sambou and Petit Sambou were the Lenké Djémbé maker.
Beno and myself played in different villages around Kouroussa.
All my gratitude for these masters.

    Thanks for posting this video!
It must have been made between 1985 and 1988 in Conakry / Guinea, probably in the Simbaya district near the house of Famoudou Konate.
The whites in the background are Germans. They invited Famoudou and his musicians to Germany from around the mid-1980s and also gave lessons themselves. That was the starting shot for the spread and popularity of the djembe in Germany (and beyond?)
Nicolas, may I ask where you got the video from ?
