- In this video, I'll show you how to make candied orange peel, which can be a great addition to many desserts.
Oranges with thick peel 3 pcs
Water 500 g (17.6 oz)
Sugar 250 g (8.8 oz)
Orange juice 50 g (1.7 oz)
From three oranges, you'll get around 180g (6.35 oz) of sliced peels.

If you want the candied peels to have a more firm texture without adding the extra step if putting it in the oven, you cam cook the peels in syrup to softball stage (using a candy thermometer). It removes the moisture and hardens the peels.
If I make candied peels as a standalone dessert, I always dry them in the oven at the end. But more often, I make candied fruits to add to Easter treats or Christmas treats. They do not need to be dried, they are stored right in the syrup) They are tastier and more aromatic this way)
