I think the white red bull was one of the best one off liveries ever. Right next to McLaren gulf monaco '21. Plus... They were actually raced in and not just a test livery.
I don't really get why everyone loves the white red bull livery. I mean, it looks alright. But it looks like the designer got the fill tool, painted white over the normal car, wrote arigato on the back and had an early lunch. Looks alright nothing special compared to other one off liveries.
@@ndh06 I think it's more of how special the color white is within JDM circles. Think of Honda and their flagship color Championship White they used for cars such as the NSX and the various Type R versions of the Civic and Integra. Add to the fact that apart from the majority white background, the red text of Redbull stood out. You know what else is red and white? The Japanese flag. People have yearned for a true Japanese presence to come back on the F1 grid as a team. This was as close as they got. Sometimes it's not about the complexity of the special livery. Sometimes we have to see the meaning behind each of the decisions they made for it. Art is rarely ever just the sum of its materials. I'll argue that the white Redbull was indeed, a work of art.
@@bonelesswatermelon420 I get the symbolic and history of choice of japanese racing white. I'm arguing that it's nothing special, especially compaired to their test designs and other one off's.
One of my favourite Alfa Romeo-Sauber One-Off liveries is the 2020 Snakeskin livery they used in testing. Such a dark, menacing look contrasted by the Alfa Romeo heart logo on the airbox.
I know the livery was there for a tribute for the victims of a terrible tragedy, but the 2001 Ferrari Italian GP, it one of my favorites, elegant and simple, appropiate for that moment. Great video, and congrats for the 10K
The 2008 RedBull Wings for Life car and the 2012 RedBull Wings for Life cars from Silverstone. Also the 2017 Force India from pre season I really like..
The white red bull is an obvious choice, but two i like which never raced (i believe) were both willliams, that stars and stripes livery they did for austin last year and the bmw williams test car from the late 90s
The amounts of content you're putting out are amazing, especially considering that the quality doesn't fall off. Hats off for that! I just need to find some time to actually watch all of the stuff I missed, life doesn't like the concept of free time when you gotta work and write a bachelor thesis at the same time. :| You could argue that by announcing you won't include the McLaren Gulf livery from the 2021 Monaco GP, you actually HAVE included the McLaren Gulf livery from the 2021 Monaco GP. *smug* I'm kinda sad about Red Bull never pulling through with a different livery based on their practice liveries. Don't get me wrong, their standard livery looks really good and in line with their branding, but it being around since forever makes me crave for something different. The Miami special edition was nice to have but rather more of the same. Oh well. What could've been with the 2007 Renault livery if it wasn't for a dutch bank. I didn't actually remember their practice livery, but I really like it. Wish I could've watched it while it was on the track, although that's probably been a little difficult of a task considering it was only used in testing.
Best of luck with the thesis by the way and I'll obviously take the content down a notch to make it more sustainable in the long term but I got ideas for the moment! And yes, I mentioned the Gulf one without doing so but by including it I won't get comments saying I didn't include it. I'm inclusive.
Williams BMW had 2 awesome testing liveries Circa 1999/early 2000 ish.also the Michael Schumacher 1997 Sauber Testing livery (Red Bull Petronas Colours , but sponsorless)
Hey LawVS. The way you talked about the 60s cars, made me think of a question. What is you favorite era of F1? And if anyone else wants to answer, feel free to. ^_^ Mine is 1995 - 1999. Due to the title fights and tight racing (That I know of, I was born in 2003).
Love the video! Just wondering what the filter over the photos of the liveries are, I think it makes it a little more difficult to see. Regardless, some amazing choices!
That Alfa Romeo could have been more sense in Imola, since it's also in Italy, and the timeframe is pretty sure not far-off from Baku with their initial intention of the Tonale Launch
That Renault livery should have, and should be an official paint scheme, that thing is hot! Course, blue and yellow always looks good together on pretty much anything, just saying!
Controvercial BUT since McLaren used a livery similar to the Gulf one i dont think the special livery was all that great,if anything its forgetable, now with Williams this season its special cause its a true "special" & not just add light blue to an orange car. Also lazy tbh ,if they wanted to be a true "special" they would have opted for the navy blue & orange variant like on some onl F1 gtr, this way a half blind person could see the difference between the papaya livery & the Gulf special.
@@LawVS hopefully not all orange with blue accents here & there granted thats the one 90% of people know(that or light blue with orange highlights) but Gulf has more variants that look so much better, hopefully Williams goes down that route.Even Aston could use a Gulf livery special since the DBR9/DBRS9(they soon went with the standard light blue & orange after that)had a Gulf varian using the darker brg kind, you should know then brit & all.

I really love the White Redbull livery originally for Japan but raced at Istanbul park
That was nice, but I felt that the 2018 camo livery was better.

That disruption livery on the RB14 speaks to my soul.
And the 2021 White Red Bulls at Turkey were also a treat to the eyes.
Honestly you have quickly become my favourite F1 youtuber. The content always feels fresh, and im a big fan of the attic😂
Cheers, Teos! Much obliged :)
One of my favourite Alfa Romeo-Sauber One-Off liveries is the 2020 Snakeskin livery they used in testing. Such a dark, menacing look contrasted by the Alfa Romeo heart logo on the airbox.
If they ran that every year that would've been neat. Not the Photoshop cloud one for 2022 💀

The 2008 RedBull Wings for Life car and the 2012 RedBull Wings for Life cars from Silverstone.

Those are fair choices but didn't quite make my list. But cool!
As a fellow Alonso-era Renault fan myself, I have to admit that Renault test livery is heartbreakingly beautiful.
Yeah that dark blue is bluetiful
Mild Seven Renault is for me still best livery design i ever saw...although i do like that blue red bull glitch one alot
Yeah the Mild Seven Renault from 2004-6 were flawless
Early '00s liveries were tight, especially the BARs!
I also like Red Bull's white one-offa.
You felt like the 2000s was where you could flex creativity
Everything makes sense when you watch this channel as the experiences of someone kidnapped and locked in an attic by some F1 obsessed madman
I am pretty daft 😂
thank you for listening to my comment on the last livery video! cars colors are discernable now and I don't really mind the filter :)
I'll use this for livery videos :)
The white red bull is an obvious choice, but two i like which never raced (i believe) were both willliams, that stars and stripes livery they did for austin last year and the bmw williams test car from the late 90s
True but I wanted to pick some odd ones to differentiate myself. :)
I also remember a yellow- White McLaren, I think for Rosberg in Montreal 1986
That's right. The Marlboro lights one from that year.
I agree with you about the Renault R27, that dark blue fitted so well at the time I hoped the team would keep it for the whole season
Yeah. My goodness that shade of blue is stunning.
You're definitely my favourite f1 RUclipsr right now
I appreciate that. I shall try my best to improve.

What makes Davidson's graffiti design even better is that the pattern on the engine cover is his helmet design.
That Renault test livery though!
Ah I should've realised it!! I was just taken by the base design that I didn't twig the difference in colours. Good spot.
You sir have very very quickly become my favourite F1 content creator
Thank you ever so!
Renault should have used the “Postbank” (subsidiary of ING ) name.. (dark blue logo
It would've been fine if it were just logos with white text who had no preference for base colours.
Congratulations on 10k much deserved
Thanks, Rhys!
If you like navy blue I recommend looking up Penn State University college football. Some of the best uniforms in the game
Close but a little darker would be better
Williams BMW had 2 awesome testing liveries Circa 1999/early 2000 ish.also the Michael Schumacher 1997 Sauber Testing livery (Red Bull Petronas Colours , but sponsorless)
I saw those but they didn't quite do it for this list. Good though.
It’s not a One-Off livery, but the 1978 Escuderia Fittipaldi was incredibly good (for me one of the best livery’s I’ve ever seen)
It's very stripey but I wished Emerson wasn't so loyal to Copersucar. He could've had a third title easy.

Hey LawVS.

Mine is 1995 - 1999. Due to the title fights and tight racing (That I know of, I was born in 2003).
I liked the early 2000s but I do like the early 90s era for its raw power
I think a honorable mention would be Red Bull's Star Wars livery, not because of the livery itself but the pit crew cosplays that came with it :P
I did think about that and DC in Superman's cape in 2006
The reason they did not do the full ferrari yellow was because of the weight of the paint, but they wanted to do that in the beginning !
They could just swap out the red is all. Surely the colour can't weight that much!
@@LawVS Sure but I think the yellow paint is still heavier than the red one
@@tv_vito It's a shame that paint weight is a factor in livery design these days.
@@LawVS I agree

Man i love that white Red Bull livery, I just wish they would race it for a whole season
At least it's in the F1 game of that year!
Love the video! Just wondering what the filter over the photos of the liveries are, I think it makes it a little more difficult to see. Regardless, some amazing choices!
It's mainly down to make it transformative and a little more dynamic. Trying to come up with iterations to make it less intrusive.
The all white rb ty Japan livery was 🔥
Yeah it was good but the 2018 camo livery was spicier for me.
@@LawVS and last weekend Williams livery was pretty nice too. White all day over the camo

The only Ferrari being on the list not being in Ferrari colours is the most Ferrari thing ever. Never change Screwedaria
It's certainly memorable
1 race = one off livery it make sense no matter how old is the car 😂
It doesn't help when shrewd marketers don't know how to count 💀
The Alpha and you have my praise
Cheeky using the Danny ric McLaren for the gulf pics
It's OK because he's back in the sport 😂
As a Mercedes fan, no German Grand Prix livery?
It was close but it wasn't quite there. Wanted to pick more obscure ones too. Besides, I'm sure most Mercedes want to forget that race.
Hot take: i think the ING renault from 07-08 looks better than the mild seven
Fair enough. It wasn't for me though but cool you like it :)
@@LawVSi agree with you on the test car tho, that one looks so good
I would say the 2001 ferrari italy livery because of well you know what
That was a very poignant tribute, for sure.
And I would also say red bull livery in monaco 2005 and 06 classic
I would had chosen a Lotus 78 imperial livery
Was it a one-off?
@@LawVS yes 1977 Fuji on Nilsson's car
What about the Red Bull RB15 Chevrons Livery?
Didn't quite like that one as much as the Disruption one.

Jordan-2001? Lotus/Renault 2011?
Those were season liveries.
