    When you're using a little 110w welder like that it gets to a duty cycle and overheats and it shuts down you got to wait a little bit before it turns back on.

  • @franklowe2180
    @franklowe2180 5 лет назад +50

    The welding machine stopped working because you ran it up to its maximum duty cycle. Try letting it cool down for 10 minutes when you run it at high amps for steady periods of time. I'd trust that lincoln over any harbor freight welder, anyday

    • @saltyymannscustoms6989

      Yeah cuz you're only saving about 300 350 bucks buying a Harbor Freight welder although their products are getting much better through the years I would only buy one for a one-time-use then take it back

    • @7REDDRACO7
      @7REDDRACO7 5 лет назад

      Personally The titanium welders are equivalent to their Lincoln and Hobart counterparts. This has a digital display, inductance inverter technology, and is very light. A 1000$ Lincoln doesn't offer that much. We will have to see if it is a reliable machine with time. I'll have to upgrade again in a few years

    Love seeing young guys your age out in the garage working with their hands instead of inside playing video games. must respect my dude, you're very talented. If I could give you a tip, the next time do you need to remove a dent from a 2-stroke chamber pipe you can cap off both ends and fill the pipe with compressed air and the den will actually come out. Just Google two-stroke chamber pipe repair.

    Excellent job! I love projects like this and the learning that goes with it. I would suggest you do some research on Ackermann Steering, I really think it could help the performance of your cart. I am no expert myself, but without it you are definitely leaving some traction potential on the table and the fastest any cart can go is only as fast as the tires will allow it. Only trying to help my friend! Either way I am sure the fun factor on that thing is through the roof!!! I love two strokes.

    as long as you keep all those exhaust chambers connected together as they were cut apart and dont shorten it or anything, it will work exactly as it did before, just with a different shape. The only reason they are all curved and whatnot, is to be able to fit the resonance chambers within the frame of a bike.

    you cant just build a two stroke expansion chamber. They are fine tuned to push back excess fuel and air that was not used back into the cylinder. You can take a built pipe and twist it around, but it must be in the same order that it was before. you will loose horsepower if not. That was a brief review on what they actually do, go look up some videos. Ive learned alot from them. you need a special cad or you need to be a math wizard to build one lol. Good luck on the sweet build. looking good!

    you know what a good trick is to get dents out of your 2 stroke pipes or any pipes i guess is fill it with water, tape the ends and put it in the freezer... check on it every 20 min or so and as soon as the dent pops take it out. The first time i did this years ago on my 125 i left it for acouple hours or so and it split my pipe but it was only a 2 inch split and im a welder so was an easy fix but if you dont want a split make sure you check it regularly

  • @jeffpolsene680

    The curves in the expansion chamber dont matter, do your self a favor and Google how an expansion chamber works. Once you understand that, its simple. I had an old Honda Odyssey and built my own fron scratch. I used a glass pack car muffler, just took out the filling. That worked better than the stock expansion chamber. Very easy, take the hour or so and read about expansion chambers, it will help in future builds. Good job on the go kart, it looks great.

  • @builtfutures4971
    @builtfutures4971 5 лет назад +1

    The Lincoln welder shut off and the gun stopped working probly because you hit the maximum duty cycle. Which means you ran the thing balls to the wall and it said no. Should be a sticker somewhere on the Lincoln welder with a number out of 10 (7/10 for ex). The number before is the time you can weld straight through that amount of time... So 7/10 you can weld for 7 mins with 3 mins of cool down

The power will be in high RPM, so top of third you will be going very fast not being able to use the power in all five gears. Consider finding a 45 to 48 tooth if it fits. Just my thoughts.
