You can use the snowmobile engine for something like a gokart, something like rather b welding did, as you said, those torque converters are not made for that much load.
The shock isn't extending because the spring isn't on it. The rebound is actually the valves inside the shock limiting the speed at which the spring re extends the shock. They have a 2 way valve stack so you can set compression speed separately from rebound speed, but you still need the spring. The nitrogen bladder is just more or less a cushion for the fluid and valves under a heavy loads,and keeps the fluid compressed so air bubbles don't form.
It's no fun if you can't chop them up to rebuild them and make improvements that's the best part😊

Cool build I’m doing a similar build but with twin I-beams up front and contemplating on a straight axle with anti-roll bar in the rear. Just to make it more like a pre-runner. Also a R1 engine.

The shocks need to be rebuilt if there that easy to compress and aren't rebounding i think it's cheaper than buying new ones

No, it's shredding belts because it's GEARED TOO HIGH. It's that simple bro. You have to research what the original gear ratio was to the end drive wheel (the wheel that drives the track on the snowmobile). and then you match that ratio to your tires size to the ground.. It's very easy to do; it's just a little math. You can't guess on the gearing... I had the same issue with my 500cc rotax. It was shredding and burning belts in only a few rides.. and then Iowered the gearing and it no longer left any wear on the belt at all and has lasted for years. Lowering the gearing also will make it quicker off the gun.. and if you lose 15mph off of the top speed-- so be it: at least it will not shred belts and actually work.
