decided to have a listen after many years, this is the band that got me into metal, and seen them live at warped tour 2016 and 2018
I did the same thing. My good friend and I found them from a Call of Duty montage when their only releases were Breaking Point, Wake Me Up, and Voices (I believe). Literally watching them go from those singles to signing with their record company and making Limitless and The Fallout was truly a great experience.

No, you remember the EP or demo in CoD montages. :) This is terrible though... Hopefully the made the others good and just decided to make this terrible for no reason whatsoever...
***** Statistics show that when a different version of the same song is released, whether it be by the same band or another, a disproportionate amount of people prefer whichever version of the song they heard first, regardless of whether or not it was the original version. I do prefer the EP, I'm just saying that it may grow on you once you stop comparing it to the EP.

D McNair If someone can listen to this, then the EP or demo and like this better then that would be REALLY suprising. Not only are the vocals better, but the instruments are louder, too. Screams are better, imo but David's take on it is good, too. Only good thing in this version, imo.
D McNair Anyways, this is growing on me. Still not as good, but it's better then when I first listened to it. I can't wait to see what the next album will be like though...

The demo version? It was a single...that was released as part of an EP it was a final version. But yes it does shit on this. They took out the electronic dancing part at the end which made the song. This version is definitely less brutal and doesn't hit nearly as hard.
More than 75% of the people here never witnessed when it came out though. Oh man.

If you've never seen the music video of it, you should. It was made a little after David joined the band, and him and Andy were screaming. I love that version, so I hope the reissues will be good... :/

Austin Hull The music video features a different track then what was originally issued on the EP. The music video does include vocals by Dave.

This was the first song i listened to when Austin Duncan was just like hey man you should check out our Band.. and ever since then Crown the Empire has been my favorite band... and this remake is badass ♡

I can't decide which version I like better... But then I realized, it's all good! Because these guys are doing this for the sole reason of loving music and their fans! What's not good about that? Yeah they make money but they started this because the music is what called them, and their music is all that matters to me. The lyrics ring true wither way, and I appreciate the cleanness of this reissue but the grit in the original. I love that we as fans can see how much they have grown from then to now. I will cherish both versions

i still remember the time you guys had 2 demo's out and released the first ep! Good times..
I still remember when i was 16 and this song came out and i legit screamed because I was so excited for the new version. Then proceeded to try and learn how to sing and scream so I could sing this song. Thank you crown the empire for giving me some serious inspiration 8 years ago. I'm just here to pay my tributes :)
The original EP only had Andy on vocals. They're re recording everything with both Andy and Dave on vocals.
Johnny Ringo had Dave in it though.

How can people not like this more than the original? That's crazy. You can definitely tell they've gotten a lot better having more time to experience more with the band and with their studio. This band literally gets better as time goes on. Can't wait for this album.

This whole EP was so piano and electronics led unlike the album which is guitar led so the fact that they no longer have a keyboardist is so obvious in this song. It's a shame really the original is a banger.
It was a great idea to do this. Andy's voice has matured since then and so has Crown The Empire's sound. So much better without the techno-ish part. Genius idea.

This is so much better than the demo version, production and the structure is written more smoothly. Anyone who says that Andy's singing isn't as good doesn't comprehend what happens when you lower a tuning to a song. He's going to sing in a lower key otherwise it's going to sound off. Also IMO The ending breakdown is better.

Good idea to rerecord Limitless with Dave, but I really wish they would have left the synth parts in it. They may be going away with that in the future, but this felt empty without it.
David does this perfectly. So happy they rerecorded it.

I'm not too sure how i feel about this yet. But I respect that their decision to re-issue this. It's pretty cool of them to do this, and I wish more bands re-did their first release a few years later to see how much that wouldve changed, I dunno it's pretty rad
This is way better because it gives us a view of how andy will be singing in the new album and how his voice has changed since hes got older. Also dave is doing vocals as well as andy in the re recorded version therefore this sounds way better then the auto tuned techno breakdown version

I would say that they are after money, but i feel as if maybe they have acquired much better equipment and want to re-master it with David Escamilla do the unlceans as Andy does not scream anymore. I really wish instead of putting effort towards remastering they put effort towards a new album :( but i guess The Fallout wasn't released that long ago

I think reissuing Limitless is smart on the band's part, since Limitless had a lot of immature elements like at points the unnecessary autotune and the almost too 'pop' like beats (especially at the end of the original Breaking Point, which absolutely kills the song imo), but then again I can't help but feel the original for this song was better in certain points. I'm glad the end is different though, if the original song had this intro and outro and then everything between it was normal, it would be perfect in my eyes.

They said they want to release something different, not the exact same sound as the original with different vocals. They just aren't into techno breakdowns and autotune. It's in a fb post on their page.

We liked the autotune, the techno, the everything that made us fall in love with crown the empire before you released the fallout, though the fallout was amazing, limitless just was a better mix and now it feels like you took it away and made it sound a bit....empty, I'm a long time CTE fan, and hope the next album mixes the sound of limitless and the fallout more together...
