The cafe at Holyrood Palace also do afternoon tea. I haven’t tried it yet but maybe will have to when I’m visiting Edinburgh in September. Thanks for another informative video x
Tea.....Good Sandwiches, sausage rolls, savoury.....Good Cake....GOOOOOD 😂😂 Loved the info Tony! Definitely need you guys to do a high tea at your castle though!
Hi been watching you for years We are finally going to come and visit Edinburgh which we are very excited. Thanks for the tips on the tea places. We're coming in May 2023. Hope we see you walking around we'll say Hi.
I’d like to thank you for your channel. It’s helped me enormously in planning my stay in Edinburgh etc. I’ve managed to buy a Clan Broonford tee shirt and hope to wear it when I’m there. Cheers from Oz.
I have been to 3/4...missing 'your Castle' I've also hade Tea, at Hopetoun House - just lovely, with a walk around the Gardens afterwards 🌳🌳 hello from Denmark 🌸
Awesome. Just wonderful and fantabulous. I think all of them would be really fun. We went to a different one at the Advocate's Library I believe. It was very old and nicely presented as well. As anything, if you leave Edinburgh City Centre and have tea in Abbeyville, Musselburgh, Bo'Ness or someplace else, it will be just as lovely, and so much cheaper.
Thanks Tony. Sitting here watching your video, sipping my mug of hot tea and nibbling a banana muffin....it's just not a good substitute. Wish I were there. Sigh.
I was just looking at somewhere this afternoon for afternoon tea, and I seriously wondered if that's something you might cover! So thankyou. Was looking at The Dome and their Goergian tea room, they have a vegan option of Afternoon Tea which is great, and the interior looks amazing...
This video has been very helpful. I will be there at the end of April. Creating a cheat sheet with a list of all the places to eat and visit from your videos. Thank you for this! Remind me where you know the bagpipe player and his name. Also where he plays.
Maison du Moggy which is just off the Grassmarket if you like cats you can have afternoon tea with the resident cats. You have to book before hand to go in then you can meet the cats it's a unique experience.
My heart just broke a bit. Because I went to Forsyth tea room while I was there in 2019 due to your Closes of the Royal mile video. I just found out it closed. I loved that little place
Great video as always. Quick question, if you have a moment…. My sister and I will be in Edinburgh right after fringe ends ….is the city still crazy busy in September?
This was lovely, thank you! For our next trip... I found out about a cafe/restaurant inside St. Giles Cathedral...? I was looking for it when we were over (hi from Canada), but never found it. Have you shown us that one? Just curious...
Great video Tony! I ended up booking an afternoon tea at the Balmoral. It looks great but so do all of these places as well. I did not know the castle had an afternoon tea or I most likely would have booked there. There is always next time!
did tea at the castle with a friend a few weeks ago (with prosecco) and it was very nice. The waitress set us up with everything and disappeared, but that happened at most restaurants (drink refills are more common in the US)
Last November when visiting Edinburgh from Montréal, Canada, I had afternoon tea at The Balmoral hotel, it was very nice.
If you are able to film or even take some pictures when you have tea at Edinburgh Castle, that will be amazing!!
The cafe at Holyrood Palace also do afternoon tea. I haven’t tried it yet but maybe will have to when I’m visiting Edinburgh in September. Thanks for another informative video x

Been in the Kilderkin pub friendly spot.
I love Clarinda's
That is my favourite kind of weather. I hate the sun, it gives me headaches. That’s why I wish I lived in Scotland.

Try sweet tea (iced). A common addiction here in the American South.
Thanks Tony. Sitting here watching your video, sipping my mug of hot tea and nibbling a banana muffin....it's just not a good substitute. Wish I were there. Sigh.
Sounds great!
Great Tony, I have tea everyday and enjoyed your video.
I'm booked for Afternoon Tea at Edinburgh Castle on the 23rd. Very excited !

I visited Edinburgh yesterday and ate at Deacon's House Cafe and it was fabulous, very good service and delicious food.
My best Afternoon Tea was at The Balmoral Hotel. Highly recommend!!
We had tea last September on the Brittania. The tour is terrific and the cakes were delicious; lovely atmosphere.
My heart just broke a bit. Because I went to Forsyth tea room while I was there in 2019 due to your Closes of the Royal mile video. I just found out it closed. I loved that little place

Hi, no it actually turns into a bit of a ghost town in September.
L'Toile Salon de Tea is an amazing french cafe just up from the Grassmarket. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the tip!
Your videos made me feel so comfortable once I got to visit Edinburgh back in 2019. I can’t wait till I come back in 2025
Love Clarinda’s, cracking wee place.
It's very early in the morning here in Los Angeles. So a nice hot cup of tea and a cake would be nice at this time

We will be in Edinburgh for several days over Christmas. Can you recommend any restaurants that are not fancy and will be open on Christmas Day?
Good morning, Tony. Hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks for all the great info on Edinburgh.
Thanks, you too!
Big red buses depot is in Granton :)
We did the big red bus. It was a lot of fun.
Great video Tony! I ended up booking an afternoon tea at the Balmoral. It looks great but so do all of these places as well. I did not know the castle had an afternoon tea or I most likely would have booked there. There is always next time!
Or another day...
My favorite tea shop near the royal mile was Eteaket on Frederick Street.
Great, Fun video; thanks Tony
