The weeknd's discography is one of my most favourite of all time and not just cuz the albums are mostly great, but also the sound change and how the perspective of the weeknd changed over all the years. Especially when he started doing a big sound change with starboy. Can't wait for you to listen to all of it.
Hope everything is going well with you and your family!Glad to see you still do these reactions/ additional thoughts for us fans and the love of music, it really is awesome!
Side note I used to skip coming down and loft music, way back then, but one day i was in a certain mood just getting home late from work super long day and it wasnt night yet but getting there and i remember coming down came on randomly, it was pretty perfect because it was like coming down after a long ass rough day of work and was just by myself vibing in my car, listening to Abel bless me with his insane vocals, it hit waaaaay different man, it caught me off guard and i feel like you’ll enjoy it eventually, it will grow now i never skip them they’re beautiful lol just depending on the situation of your day mood, or whatevers going on your life. Its pretty cool! The Weeknd is an amazing artist man! Im really excited for you to experience his music. It gets better!
I enjoy Additional Thoughts more than the actual reaction video lol. And Knowing is the perfect closure, the nights I've spent listening to that track in remembrance of someone back in the day. HOB is phenomenal!
I am literally so excited to watch your journey through his discography! You'll really get to see him grow and his character progress. Absolutely love your breakdowns and cant wait to see what you think of the rest. I'm super you'll figure it out or already know, but the order is: House of Ballons Thursday Echoes of Silence Kissland Beauty Behind the Madness Starboy My Dear Melancholy After Hours Dawn FM I'm so glad you're going in order because after After Hours (in my opinion his best album) means SO much more if you know the whole characters back story. Cant wait!
There are demos (leaked) on RUclips / Soundcloud of a lot of the tracks that appeared on House of Balloons, that you may be interested in lending your ear to. The most notable demos are The Morning and The Party. There were rumours or a story with these tracks about The Weeknd having a different initial approach to the sound he ended up settling with. You’ll hear the differences in the demos if you ever choose to listen to them. Part of the rumours involved this idea that The Weeknd was a duo or a group. A story exists (The Weeknd denies this) that the songs produced by Jeremy Rose, are what led to the formation of The Weeknd itself and that this sound that we hear on House of Balloons was Jeremy’s idea all along. Of the demos out there, my personal favourites are; Glass Table Girls, and a demo titled Airports. Anyways, loving these Additional Thoughts videos, hopefully we get to see the Thursday reaction soon. :)
OMG I love the airports demo! That's what got me into Radiohead! And funny the original version of The Party and the After Party is what got me into beach house!
If you have an issue with the chorus of "Coming Down," PLEASE check out the Trilogy version. It sounds sooooo much better. Still not the best song on the album, but it's so much better.
The Weeknd has one of the greatest discographies of all time. His evolution is incredible. He really was destined to do music I think. I’m hyped for this series of reactions, if you loved HOB this much you will be a huge fan by the end of this discography
Glad you enjoyed HoB. Can’t wait until you get to “Beauty Behind The Madness” & “After Hours” which compete with “House of Balloons” for The Weeknds beat album. IMO.

I think Dawn FM is going to be right up your alley. It's the Weeknds best most cohesive album experience in my opinion. It has some of his best singles too.
i would like to see you react to 2 albums that came out this year dawn fm by the weeknd and it’s almost dry by pusha t you will like them they are good
I am very interested to see what you think of Thursday. A lot of people consider it one of his best works, but for me, it’s easily one of his worst. Not bad, but underwhelming in his catalog. Curious to see how you feel about it. It’s a little less catchy, a little looser, and definitely has more falsetto. Thanks for the great work!
I feel like it’s underrated just because it’s most folks least fav of the original mixtapes but the songs that I love on there I really love and consider the highlights are definitely in his top tier stuff imo
I discovered The Weeknd in late 2011 after he had already released HOB and Thursday. Songs like The Knowing hit so hard as a 15 year old high school kid 😂
