Worth a note. In Atlanta you have Five Points, which is downtown and sketchy and not a place to be after dark, and you have Little Five Points which is kinda hipster and quirky and can be a fun hangout place. Mixing up the two can lead to some ... interesting moments.

When budget permits, you should come to South Africa. There isn’t a lot of SA whisky but there are a few like Bain’s Cape Mountain or Limpopo Reserve. Plus beyond whisky it’ll make a fantastic holiday for your family. Bains is from the Cape Town area and Limpopo Reserve is from close to Kruger National Park, which is where everyone goes when they come to SA

New southern revival is good stuff made in Charleston SC. The distillery literally brought back a type of corn called Jimmy red corn (grown in the low country) back from almost extinction and began distilling the grain once they had enough yield. Jimmy red corn used to be used to make whiskey in the past and is now back. Very good and unique pour

You were close to Elemental, which is a cool shop that doles out their allocations fairly (announced in advance, first-come first-serve) and does a good job of having interesting stuff for a small shop. Also close to Greene’s is Pitch & Putt. It’s a *tiny* shop that punches above their weight. They get Wellers, Eagle Rare and a ton of hard-to-get stuff. They’re actually reasonable for daily-driver bourbon but can get pricy on the truly hard-to-find issues. Cheers!

New South revival is here in my city of Charleston, SC. Yes the distill their own product. If I may recommend one, their Jimmy red Corn! It’s a young bourbon, however it’s an organic nearly extinct corn that was brought back by local farms here and it’s what they use in their product! Peanut brittle and honey. They are pricey, but unique and delicious.

Milam sources, if you in central TX, you need to do the run from San Antonio to Hye, reverse, you have Garrison but then going down 281 S you hit Andalusia, then further south, you have Milam but across the street is Real Ale and they do a few whiskeys, then further south, you might want to bypass Rebecca Creek, but in San Antonio you have Ranger Creek, they do a few stellar whiskeys, they do bourbons in large and small cask, a rye, and a mesquite smoked single malt, plus some distillery only releases

around your 14:50 mark, you ask about "New South Revival". That is a grain to glass/farm to flask 100% Jimmy Red Corn Whiskey out of Charleston, SC. We just picked a barrel 2 weeks ago, and they celebrate their 10th year this weekend. They are releasing their first BiB this fall, and they make incredible 100% corn and 100% Rye. If you trust Julian Van Winkle, he liked it so much that he sent for a sample of the distillate to run through their machines in Kentucky. He couldn't believe the flavors they could impart with a single grain.
If you like cool whiskey, I hope you don't pass it by next time. Consider getting some of the later batches as they began blending some older whiskey in the that same label you saw. Enjoyed the video!

In my neck of the woods (hey Atlanta has more of those than most big cities)! My buddy owns Elemental. It's an awesome little bottle shop. Green's and Tower are my go-to's. Tower does great random drops and occasionally has some good stuff on the shelves. Green's is more hit or miss usually. You can park in that lot in front of 5 Points for free to go to the liquor store. Otherwise it's a pay lot for all of the folks that come from the suburbs to see L5P (all us natives park on side streets). You were about 4 miles from ASW distillery, so you could've stopped by and checked out more of their selection. Next time! Also, Atlanta is not the big scary place you've made it out to be (you're not alone though). Lived here my whole life and have walked all over the city with no issues. It's like any other city (small ones included) in that there's crazy people mixed in and neighborhoods that are safer than others, but for the most part everybody is as nice and welcoming as you are to them. Also, try Fox Brothers BBQ next time!
