Brooklyn for bottle hunting has been good for me and the food is always 🔥 Pick up a 107 Wellers for $49 I could not believe it. Have not seen a bottle here in Texas for over a year now
It's half 4 in the afternoon here in the UK, and in Newcastle where I am, it;s hosing it down has been since last night, it's cold, miserble and getting dark, the only plus point is that in 30 mins I'll be clocking off and looking forward to a chill weekend and the superbowl on sunday night.
I highly recommend hanging in the East Village next time you're in NYC - better food, prices, and liquor stores. You can probably do even better in the boroughs but it's an easy train ride from Grand Central
For real, the sad part is that these secondary prices exist because people actually pay them. Owner of my local liquor store said whenever he gets Blanton's, a $50 bottle, he sells it for about $200 and it never lasts more than a day on the shelf. Is Blanton's good? Probably, I don't know, cause I'm never going to pay $200 for a bottle of it, but I imagine it tastes like $50 whiskey if that's what Buffalo Trace says it's worth🤷♀
If you’re ever in nyc East village(lower East Manhattan) is best for the bar scene, there’s literally hundreds of them there varying in price and theme Astoria and jackson heights in queens for food from everywhere in the world without breaking the bank See Times Square if you must but don’t waste too much time there, the magic of ny doesn’t exist there I’d also recommend walking along the entirety of the Hudson River or a large portion of it in Manhattan. Extremely beautiful views with much to do along the river. There’s a riverside mini golf course and sand volleyball pit around tribeca, free kayaking at 55th street, a lighthouse by the George Washington bridge, and more. If weed is your thing it’s legal in nyc and practically every smoke shop(aren’t hard to find anywhere in the city) sells good quality flower and prerolls
Hey TJ! Happy to see you out in about in NYC! I have few spots I’d like to recommend as a local. In upper Manhattan I say PJ wine and liquor/ CYP Liquors. In Brooklyn Dukes Liquor Box or Eight and Driggs wine and liquor. Queens- Lowry wine and liquor/ adega wine & liquors. And finally the Bronx is Broadway liquor and wine and Riverdale liquors. These are spread out but you’ll find something you’ll like. Happy Hunting!
People forget that these places are going to sell for what they can get for them. There are a lot of businessmen that fly in and want to impress their clients so spending x5 or x10 MSRP is 100% worth it for them.
I was worried when you guys went to TS for pizza haha … BUt TBH John’s is actually* great. I forgot they have one in the area. Hope the hunt was fun! Glad to see you exploring NYC!
Was in New York this year and I saw bottles I’ve never seen before and there was a reason why, their prices were higher than their sky scrapers!!! It was unbelievable!!
John's Pizza is a great stop for pizza in Time Square. Finger Lakes Distilling/McKenzie is a great choice. Their barrel pick is great, my local club has done 3 picks with them and all have been great.
NY local here. Great Jones is really good, but if you are in the city go and get it from them direct. They have a distillery. $200 is what distributors are telling NY shops to sell Blantons at (So I’m told) Get yourself some Beacon whiskey. It’s local and really good. The beaverkill bourbon crème is amazing. Kings County is nice but not fantastic. Midwinters night dram is $150 at the distillery
It was briefly mentioned in the video but you have to pick up a bottle of Hillrock Estate Solera Aged Bourbon. They retail at $95-$99 but get marked up unless you go to a Total Wines. One of the best NY Bourbons I’ve had
While in San José , if you have the time come to Benicia, CA. We have a new Liquor store called Sips Bottle Emporium. Best liquor store I’ve seen in quite a while.
Negotiating on Michters 10 Rye for $250 is wild, coming from a liquor store we sell everything allocated for MSRP when we put it out. I guess some places like to make out more than they need
My wife and I were up there in June. Had pizza at Slice of New York on 8th, it’s good pizza, can’t speak for if it’s the best. Right by our hotel Riu Plaza Times Square. We will definitely stay there any other trips we make.
TJ, Jill, the McKenzie bourbon you should have tried is their bottle and bonded. Come to upstate NY! There is many distilleries from Syracuse to Rochester to Buffalo you should try. Iron Smoke and Black Button in Rochester ate my favorites! McKenzie in the finger lakes is a great distillery also
Great video. Looking forward to seeing where you hunt in San Jose, as I'm in the area. I haven't had much luck here, so wishing you will find those hidden gems.
For NYC bourbon I like Van Brunt whiskey distilled in Brooklyn, their campfire is👌for NY State whiskey I like Taconic or Hill Rock. Taconic has some nice special stuff at their distillery I recommend taking a ride there
We go to NYC a couple times a year (quick flight from chicago). The last time we were there, I checked out that Times Square Wine & Liqours. I was blown away by the prices, and that's comparing them to Chicago. I know you love Bourbon County Stout, in the West Village is Carmine St. Beers, bookmark it to check it out sometime.
That Bootlegger bourbon is distilled and aged by their own company. It’s called Do Good Distillery in Roscoe ny. In my opinion there is better bourbon but the owner is the absolute nicest guy and really takes pride in their company. They make other spirits also (their gin is great) They’re also the same distillery that makes the beaver kill bourbon cream that Jill picked up. The story behind the cream is great too. The owner needed gift ideas for friends during Covid since a lot of stores were closed and couldn’t get anything. So he made the bourbon cream just as a gift for someone. They loved it and said he should bottle it at his distillery. So he took their advice and ran with it. Absolutely love what do good distillery is about and will give them my money any day. Even if it’s not for their bourbon. They make other spirits that are pretty dang good
It's been said on here but boroughs will help you avoid those price gouging. I work in midtown and even regular (non-rare/mainstream) bottles are $10-15 higher than in my neighborhood in Brooklyn.
If you ever come back to NY, get up to Yonkers and check out Gino's Pizza on South Broadway! Great pizza and Gino is a very nice fella to chat with and check out North End Liquor Mart on Webster Ave and Fordham Road! Not the biggest selection but the prices are excellent!
Next time you go to las vegas and your in the mood to eat something different, check out the Cornish Patsy(i think thats how its spelled) and make sure you get the wine gravy sauce, that is a must.
I've been to Finger Lakes Distillery several times. They have a BiB of that McKenzie bourbon. Their Rye is good. It's an Empire Rye 80% NY local rye and 20% malted barley. I love it in an Old Fashion. Almost tastes like a smoked OF, w/o actually smoking it. Plus the rye spice.
If you’re visiting San Jose, CA; I have a few suggestions of stores that you might want to visit. The stores are: San Tomas Liquors, Royal Liquors, Vintage Wine Merchants, local TWs, and if you don’t mind driving few miles off town, you gotta check out K&L Wines in Redwood City. It’s very similar to Vino in this video. Good luck with the hunt as always. I would not mind doing a bourbon hunt with you. Edit: Nvm, you probably came and went on your way…
I'm in SC and I have two bottles of Kings County Bottled in Bond on my shelf. I really really love it. I also have a bottle of Kings Code, but that's a different story.
They must do things different in Florida. Here even if you run unapposed you STILL have to run and be voted on. In a small town like Otter Creek it wouldnt be unheard of to have a write in candidate win even though they arent on the ballot.
I would 100% recommend checking out Great Jones. They are New York locals. They contracted with a distillery in upstate New York before opening their distillery and tasting room in Manhattan. Their Four Grain is a distillery exclusive and one of my favorite purchases from my trip to NY. Love the content, can’t wait to see your next hunt!
The guy at ninth liquors seemed really cool and humble. Looking to learn from individuals not even knowing their complete background since hes new to the business.
Hear me out, I know you do not like Irish Whiskey but you could try Keeper's Heart Irish+American Whiskey. They even have an Irish Bourbon cask strength but I've been unable to find one. just something to keep an eye out for if you are feeling adventurous.
When I first ran across your channel I thought you had used an alterrnative spelling for Bruce Lee. It works so well to see it that way maybe you should consider it.
Give Red Breast Cast Strength a try. I don’t like Irish Whiskeys much either but that one is amazing and very bourbon-like. Lots of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, spice
The next time you come to the East Coast, you should do a Maryland Bourbon hunt video. There’s also a great distillery doing unique whiskey called Meinelschmidt Distillery in Hagerstown MD that I think you’d love.
What about more towards the border of Vermont? Vermont is great for prices but the state control limits allocated stuff. Northeast Ny! Have you been there?
Wish Canada Ontario would have a fraction of these selections. Our Liquor store "LCBO" limits so much for options. Your videos are awesome I enjoy watching them T.J. Envious of your selections in the USA
I saw you pass on the Dickel Leopold bros rye is a really tasty pour. It’s a buy @130.00 or less. I pick up a bottle every time I pass through Columbus GA
Not sure if someone said this already, but I couldn’t tell in the video, but if the Kosher was the green label “Rye Recipe” that is the bourbon that contains rye in the mashbill. The kosher rye is a red label I believe.
A bit late to the game, but for next time, there is a large store called Park Avenue Liquors. No idea on pricing but they are said to have a large selection. There used to be a store called Taste of NY, that was food and liquor made in NY state, not sure if any of them are still open.
Yeah snow hasn't been great in NYC the last few years haha. Awesome to see y'all in my city! Definitely check out areas outside of midtown next time you're here. Good distilleries in Brooklyn, too.
Missed out on that Beaverkill Bourbon Cream!! Super local upstate New York, surprised they carry it there as just a year or two ago I could only get it upstate.
San jose, try Don's Liquor about 10 min from airport...you have to ask for the good stuff...he doesn't have it out. I was there in Oct.. prices were a little high but he was willing to negotiate 🤙...
I'll be your guide if you're ever in Western New York. Those prices aren't shocking, considering the cost of living in NYC. Pricing is all over the place in the Buffalo area. You can find whatever you want here but it will cost you ... not as much as NYC. I shop at stores that are decent of course their good stuff moves because the prices are good.
Long Island would of been better. There's a lot of factors and issues that are causing these high prices in NY. The store owners need to be educated more on the pricing. 1. Bottles are hard to get 2. In NY we pay more to get the bottles in general 3. Sales people say hey you can get X amount of money on this bottle and it causes high prices and then bottles sit on the shelves. We adjusted our store prices because bottles don't belong on the shelves they should be enjoyed! 😀
Shouldn’t have passed up that Jaywalk. I know you aren’t huge on ryes but that bottle is awesome. “More rare than Pappy” is definitely a marketing line. They “revived” an extinct rye strain to make Jaywalk. Super cool story.
Dont stay in times square, dont eat in times square, dont shop in times square. Spend 4-5 hours there and go somewhere else.
4 to 5 hours??? There's not that much in the M&M's Store haha
4-5 hours? More like 1 hour max
Then spend 4-5 hours doing what?
Brooklyn for bottle hunting has been good for me and the food is always 🔥
Pick up a 107 Wellers for $49 I could not believe it. Have not seen a bottle here in Texas for over a year now
Why would you spend any time there??????
No better way to start a friday morning than a brewzle video
It's half 4 in the afternoon here in the UK, and in Newcastle where I am, it;s hosing it down has been since last night, it's cold, miserble and getting dark, the only plus point is that in 30 mins I'll be clocking off and looking forward to a chill weekend and the superbowl on sunday night.
I highly recommend hanging in the East Village next time you're in NYC - better food, prices, and liquor stores. You can probably do even better in the boroughs but it's an easy train ride from Grand Central
I love that you call out their silly prices, in front of them, and online. I saw an Old Fitz for 1.5k the other day, give me a break.
For real, the sad part is that these secondary prices exist because people actually pay them. Owner of my local liquor store said whenever he gets Blanton's, a $50 bottle, he sells it for about $200 and it never lasts more than a day on the shelf. Is Blanton's good? Next time you are in NYC go hunting at - Astor Wines, 111 Lex Liquors and Wine, WinesToGo Wine & Spirits, Morton Williams Wine & Spirits, Wine Wisdom.
Astor Wines is such a good spot.
Warehouse on Broadway near Astor is a good spot too. Astor is the best.
Super useful video for us Europeans who are far more likely to end up in NY than say Alabama or Georgia. Thanks!
If you’re ever in nyc
East village(lower East Manhattan) is best for the bar scene, there’s literally hundreds of them there varying in price and theme
Astoria and jackson heights in queens for food from everywhere in the world without breaking the bank
See Times Square if you must but don’t waste too much time there, the magic of ny doesn’t exist there
I’d also recommend walking along the entirety of the Hudson River or a large portion of it in Manhattan.
The commitment for content is appreciated brewzle and Mrs brewzle
i appreciate you highlighting your experiences with new yorkers being kind. we try i think.
It’s business baby
I already knew how this video was going to go down. You can find almost any bottle in NYC, rare stuff and all. The thing that stops you is price.
I was worried when you guys went to TS for pizza haha … BUt TBH John’s is actually* great. I forgot they have one in the area. Hope the hunt was fun! Glad to see you exploring NYC!
Glad you found John's Pizza......that is the spot
thee best and the owner is fantastic
Is that John's Pizza on Bleckers? EL Prez swears its the best pizza he has ever ate.
@@RossMalagarienah
Was in New York this year and I saw bottles I’ve never seen before and there was a reason why, their prices were higher than their sky scrapers!!! It was unbelievable!!
John's Pizza is a great stop for pizza in Time Square. Finger Lakes Distilling/McKenzie is a great choice. Their barrel pick is great, my local club has done 3 picks with them and all have been great.
Nooooo!!! You were standing right outside of Mercato!! You should have 100% gotten lunch there, it’s by far my favorite Italian in New York.
Come to Philly for some great craft bourbon whiskey!!! And then hunt in the Jersey stores
WE LOVE YOU TWO AND ALL OF THE SHOWS! THE DILLARDS.........PS YOUR A LUCKY MAN JD.
You'd love Wheated in Brooklyn. PIzza AND Bourbon!!!
Guys looking a little cold out there 😂. Brings back Memories though I lived in NYC, from the late 80s, into early 90s. Love the Channel keep it up 🥃
My home state. Go ny go ny go. Have fun! Nice people fun times.
If you ever come back to NYC, you need to go to Astor Wines and Spirits in the East Village of Manhattan.
Hop on the train down to West 4th for pizza at John’s of Bleecker St. THAT is NY pizza.
I got my eyes on a single Rickhouse at MSRP . Gem of a store . Again you should hunt in my neck of the woods .
NY local here. Great Jones is really good, but if you are in the city go and get it from them direct. They have a distillery. $200 is what distributors are telling NY shops to sell Blantons at (So I’m told)
Get yourself some Beacon whiskey. It’s local and really good. The beaverkill bourbon crème is amazing. Kings County is nice but not fantastic.
Midwinters night dram is $150 at the distillery
Jill looks sooooo happy....
Took my Mom to NYC for her 50th Birthday. Did the Statue of Liberty and all the tourist stuff.
It was briefly mentioned in the video but you have to pick up a bottle of Hillrock Estate Solera Aged Bourbon. They retail at $95-$99 but get marked up unless you go to a Total Wines. One of the best NY Bourbons I’ve had
15:07 Midwinter Nights Dram for $250 is a horrible price IMO but I know it's all different across the country
Glad your visiting us in NYC, cheapest place for blantons in the city is Costco at 120. If you want good prices. Go to leaky barrel in Brooklyn
They have super liquor depot in the Bronx , 10465. Throggs neck near the Whitestone bridge. Prices are a third of what Manhattan is.
Hunting in my hood. Hope you had a great time. Lots of stores to work your way through. You got to hit Queens and Brooklyn to get winners.
Pizza should have gone to best and one of the original John's of Bleecker Street. Try Katz Deli too, walk … that’s what you do in NYC.
The kosher rye is not the rye. That is the straight rye. The rye is mashbill 1 of Buffalo trace fyi
While in San José , if you have the time come to Benicia, CA. We have a new Liquor store called Sips Bottle Emporium. Best liquor store I’ve seen in quite a while.
Fort Hamilton is a NY based distillery and their rye is super sweet and delicious even though it is zero corn
Yes Fort Hamilton is very good. Picked mine up at Grape Shot Wines & Spirits in Brooklyn
Barrel strength from them is great
Good man, I’m not a Irish whiskey fan as well
I can't find a PVW in any of my secondary groups going for less than $1K -- I'd almost consider an $800 price tag
Negotiating on Michters 10 Rye for $250 is wild, coming from a liquor store we sell everything allocated for MSRP when we put it out. I guess some places like to make out more than they need
My favorite New York pizza joint, Sbarro -Michael Scott
I was waiting for this reference!
Thanks

I’ve had a couple different bottles of 77 stuff that somebody recommended. Liked them both.
Taconic has some nice special stuff at their distillery I recommend taking a ride there
For pizza, Rubirosa is amazing! Reservations recommended though if you want to eat at a normal time. Tried once before a show and the wait was 3 hours
Patsy's on 1st Ave and 117th Street. Great spot for a pie!
Next time you are in NYC see Sean at 58th street wine 120 W 58th St, New York, NY 10019, USA

I. Finally, I got my hands on blantons! So happy. Now it's time to see all the hype about the bottle.
Union Trail is a release from Bourbon Enthusiast. He runs a private barrel club. I believe its MPG juice, and very nice.
I'm in SC and I have two bottles of Kings County Bottled in Bond on my shelf. I really really love it. I also have a bottle of Kings Code, but that's a different story.

It’s great to see you taking your daughter Jill to New York City with you awesome father daughter video
I don’t even like standard Jack Daniels whiskey…but I like watching your videos!

Brewzle come to Chicago! I’d love to show you around. Got a few honey pots
Give Red Breast Cast Strength a try. I don’t like Irish Whiskeys much either but that one is amazing and very bourbon-like. Lots of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, spice
I love all whiskey! Japanese Scotch bourbon and yes Irish! Who don’t enjoy Redbreast or some Green spot!
Redbreast cask strength is superb.
the 2 mile walk will do you some good
The next time you come to the East Coast, you should do a Maryland Bourbon hunt video. There’s also a great distillery doing unique whiskey called Meinelschmidt Distillery in Hagerstown MD that I think you’d love.
Nice tour and Bourbon Hunting episode, I’ve enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing! My favorite pizza place in Manhattan is Lazzara's Pizza Cafe!
Roger Wilco. New Jersey. Best liqour store in the USA
I found that Northern NY is pretty good to find more selections. I was just in Syracuse a month ago
What about more towards the border of Vermont? Vermont is great for prices but the state control limits allocated stuff. Northeast Ny! Have you been there?
@anthonypicciano3803 I have been to Vermont but haven't been burbon hunting then. I'm only 1 year into. I try to find places out side of PA.
love going to Times Square but take the subway to local shops for hidden gems
Absolutely love your videos. Good to see someone from AL getting after it. Shout out from Odenville AL!
Rubirosa and Angelo's on 57th
Wish Canada Ontario would have a fraction of these selections. Our Liquor store "LCBO" limits so much for options. Your videos are awesome I enjoy watching them T.J. Envious of your selections in the USA
Yeah, don't come in Quebec either, you'll be sorely disappointed. Only province in Canada to look for whiskey is Alberta.
Love all of your videos. Some really nice Museums!
What you’re missing is your $$$$$ if you buy from that first store- like you said, crazy tourist prices.
I saw you pass on the Dickel Leopold bros rye is a really tasty pour. It’s a buy @130.00 or less. I pick up a bottle every time I pass through Columbus GA
I can't believe you missed out in the EHT 4 grain for 200. That was an amazing price.
Everyone loves McKenzie Rye. A lot of local groups have picks. King's County is delicious.
A Parker’s double barrel is nuts
Not sure if someone said this already, but I couldn’t tell in the video, but if the Kosher was the green label “Rye Recipe” that is the bourbon that contains rye in the mashbill. The kosher rye is a red label I believe.

Good on ya for handling NYC. Better for food than bourbon not a bourbon hunting city.
Missed out on that Beaverkill Bourbon Cream!! Super local upstate New York, surprised they carry it there as just a year or two ago I could only get it upstate.
johns time square is incredible pizza great stop and the fried mozzarella is incredible!
San jose, try Don's Liquor about 10 min from airport...you have to ask for the good stuff...he doesn't have it out. I was there in Oct.. prices were a little high but he was willing to negotiate 🤙...

HEY BUD! Did you see Pennsylvania liquor control board is about to lottery off chances to buy bottles from their buffalo trace collection!
Long Island would of been better. There's a lot of factors and issues that are causing these high prices in NY. The store owners need to be educated more on the pricing.

Liquor Up Wine Down on 1st Ave was always a great place buy Burbons when I lived there, and for pizza can beats Joe's Pizza (7 Carmine St)
Blecker st pizza and princes are my two favs, they’re both very different so could not choose between.
