Should call this "I went to several whiskey museums with a bourbon nerd in Louisville, KY". BTW that Driftless Glen you looked at in the last store is decent stuff. Definitely worth a try.
@x5j94 I have a client who swears by it, he’s tried to convince me on multiple occasions it’s worth the money he’s spending. In my opinion, it’s not when there’s similar quality out there for a fraction of the price.
The best way to transport bottles in this situation is to ask the liquor store if they have any boxes they are going to throw out and put all the bottles in that box makes it more compact and they are safe from clacking against each other.
I use plastic milk crates with blankets and bungee cords on Bourbon hunts. A few small bungee cords keeps everything upright, and the blankets keep em from clacking together. And the milk crates have handles for carrying. Just grabbed 6 bottles today, no worries on the drive at all!
The willetes farm Bardstown bottled in bond you got at the last place is by far my favorite sub $100 bourbon, and I'm from Kentucky so I've had a lot of them.
Brewzle. I’ve dropped 30, not a huge guy but have had success with this. Order your normal food. Normal proportions. Then eat 2/3rds of it. You never deprive yourself or anything and it’s easy to keep track of.
These are seriously my favorite bourbon hunting vids on RUclips. I love how you look for something unusual or less known rather than always seeking the hard-to-find allocated bottles. Great info!
Nothing like recognizing every store in the video, and at least 2 of the staff helping you. Missed a lot of the best stores too, but you got some good ones in.
Benchmarks are great. I will say my sister had her wedding at Buffalo Trace and it way absolutely amazing. Gave everyone a bottle of Buffalo Trace and gave all of us an amazing tour. If your in the Kentucky area I would highly recommend, if you can find a reservation lol (no they are not rich just lucky).
I think you would like four gate. It’s finished but they do short finishes so it’s not an overwhelming finished whiskey. All the Kelvin collaborations are great the 2nd Kelvin collab is my favorite!
Brewzle, thanx for the memories! The BirdDog and I used to live a block west of Top Hat, behind the Fishery, there in the original downtown of the old village of St. Matthews. Great folks at Top Hat, glad you got to meet'em, 'twas good to see them again.
I LOVE❤❤❤ 😂😂😂 the idea of a bottle storage container for the trips. New watcher, follower, and fan. I am binging all your videos. Learning a lot. Keep up the fantastic videos.
I love you man! ❤ You know what you love and stick within your guidlines. This man knows what he wants! Nothing more admirable. You have great taste as well I’m glad we agree on similar taste profiles. Keep it up brother! Rock on! We’ll be watchin’ !
I just took a trip back to my home state of Wisconsin and had to buy some Driftless Glen bourbon. It's good stuff. They also make a 5-year French oak aged brandy that's finished in bourbon barrels, which is awesome. It's a lot harder to find outside of Wisconsin. I've only ever seen it once in my new home of Oklahoma. Buy some if you see it.
Red Castle store was just a museum. those prices are outrageous. And with pappy 15 sitting there, you didn't need to ask to know it was going to be beyond dumb 🤣🤣
Just did a tour at Southern Distilling Company on Friday in Statesville, NC. Mentioned "Southern Star" at 22:40. Don't sleep on it. Give it a try if you get the chance. The Paragon 92 Proof is a fastball right down the middle; Smooth, full flavor, great mouthfeel. And, the Paragon Bottle in Bond 100 Proof is Chef's Kiss.
Very interesting that Top Hat had "Epsy House" Bourbon. It is actually from my small home town and named after the Epsy House, which is a house that George Washington stayed in during his time in the town. He was there in 1794 for the whiskey rebellion so they based their brand on his time there and the historical significance the town and that specific house where he stayed had in whiskey history here in the United States.
@9:20 when I'm out on a hunt buying up 10 or more bottles at a time. I take 3 large empty boxes and a ton of Aldis or Kroger paper bags along with me. Rip multiple bags down the middle, double them up and twist em & snake em around the bottles. Makes great spacers and keeps the bottles from clanking around. Works well for me.
stopping at the "dirty Kroger" in Louisville was such a waste! haha there are so many good local places in the city. Hope you get to to explore even more
Seeing you guys hunt Louisville makes me want to go back down there for a weekend. I went last fall to catch some horse racing and hike down in the Green River Valley. Great area with great people.
The Mrs and I visited KY last week for our wedding anniversary. Hit the Buffalo Trace tour and nabbed a couple bottles of Blanton’s for $69 each. Old Forester your as well. Also visited Heaven Hill. Gotta say… Old Forester Rye might be the sleeper of the trip!! They don’t sell it here in Mo and it is FANTASTIC! Banner trip!!
I live in the KCMO area and haven't seen the OF Rye here, either. I was told by one store manager on the KS side that he did get a case of it about 2 weeks ago. I usually get 3 bottles when I go to visit family in Dallas. Great stuff.
Tried OF Rye on a whim for a camping trip and was floored by how good it was. I can find it anywhere here in Louisville and buy it often for around mid $20s...
small whiskey update: I tried old forester with coke and I was blown away, the flavors were so excellent! I am the guy that needs his whiskey with coke and this is the first one that shocked me completely. I have had many scotches that were pretty good but this stuff was flawless mixed with diet coke (all I had at the time) simply a great whiskey!
Mine was ginger ale. Tried Weller 12...back when it was 'cheap' and that was the gateway bourbon that got me into neat tastings. On a side note, I had Jim Beam double barrel and found that to be a pretty good mixer too. Enjoy !!
This comment was crazy I’ve had a bottle of wild turkey sitting for a while ( don’t drink much but wanted to try ) I was drinking Diet Coke right now literally grab the bottle dropped a bit and it was outstanding then I saw your comment lol. I tried drinking it raw before but it was strong as hell for me ( I don’t drink) but with the coke I tasted all flavors no alcohol
Went to a small town spirits store here in Texas and scored a bottle of Blanton’s Gold for $220. Guy said their “normal”customer’s cannot afford it. It had been sitting there for 6 months, so I picked it up. They were also the only place in the area with Buffalo Trace in stock, as all the big box liquor stores in the city didn’t have stock. Price was great too. 750ml bottle for $27.99
Ha! I know that State Liquors store. Picked up Smoke Wagon The Younger when I was there….and also ate dinner at the Brown Hotel. Good times in Kentucky. Hi from Calgary Alberta
Next time you’re in Louisville, you have to try La Bodeguita de Mima. It’s a Cuban restaurant with amazing food! I’ve been there once while in town for a concert and would drive down from Michigan just to eat there!
I was told at the Willett distillery that the Old Bardstown BiB is only available in Kentucky. I bought one and was satisfied for the price, it’s definitely a solid bourbon.
I have a co worker that is related to Paul Sutton and she gave me a bottle of it. It is amazing. They aren’t in many stores so I’d grab a bottle next time you see it. 100% worth it. I prefer it over Blantons.
Paul Sutton is a revival of an old family bourbon, currently distilled by Wilderness Trail distillery. I know the woman who resurrected the brand (Myra), she’s a former oncology doctor who decided to bring back a legacy that was almost lost. She literally paid people to examine old samples of the family’s whiskey to figure out how it was made, and then re-created the recipe.
That FR Visitor Center Private Selection 20 year though. I love me some Four Roses, and seeing a unicorn like that next to Pappy 15, in the wild?! Where is this place? Bourbon Heaven?
"There's no such thing as a hefty pour. There's pours, and then there's just skimping..."
Words of wisdom.
I need to find a shirt that says that!! Epic!! 🥃
should be etched into Mount Rushmore
The meme incorporation is always top tier. Well done sir. Loved the video
Thank you kindly!
Please don’t judge
Should call this "I went to several whiskey museums with a bourbon nerd in Louisville, KY". BTW that Driftless Glen you looked at in the last store is decent stuff. Definitely worth a try.
U changed my life sir! All I watch on RUclips is your bourbon hunting videos, keep them coming 🎉
Imagine paying $2500 for a bourbon, getting home and realizing it just tastes like bourbon. Nothing magical happens. 😂
if you pay 2 grand for bourbon thinking it was going to as different in taste as price, you just wanted to spend the money.
@x5j94 I have a client who swears by it, he’s tried to convince me on multiple occasions it’s worth the money he’s spending. In my opinion, it’s not when there’s similar quality out there for a fraction of the price.
@x5j94lmao stop. For the Uber wealthy, sure. But for 99%..? Dawg stop the cap and get it together
Most people buying it couldn’t pick it out of a blind taste test.
@x5j94pappys sucks
The best way to transport bottles in this situation is to ask the liquor store if they have any boxes they are going to throw out and put all the bottles in that box makes it more compact and they are safe from clacking against each other.
FACTS
And they ALWAYS have boxes.
Is this something that really needs to be said though?
@@BillyT886 Brewzle was having some trouble in video and asked if there was better way to transport bottles during these liquor store marathon videos
Sounds crazy, but I travel with boxes just for that reason
I've never had bourbon but I love these videos. Keep them coming!
Gotta go get ya sum! Best spirit out there imo
Best thing about bourbon is there is so much variety.
Glad you like them!
I can’t get enough of these bourbon hunting/road trip videos. Keep um coming TJ👍🥃
I use plastic milk crates with blankets and bungee cords on Bourbon hunts. A few small bungee cords keeps everything upright, and the blankets keep em from clacking together. And the milk crates have handles for carrying. Just grabbed 6 bottles today, no worries on the drive at all!
Brother I have been watching your shorts fir a few months and I enjoy them. This is the FIRST long form video that has come across my feed. Yes.
The willetes farm Bardstown bottled in bond you got at the last place is by far my favorite sub $100 bourbon, and I'm from Kentucky so I've had a lot of them.
That Benchmark Full Proof is fantastic
Brewzle. I’ve dropped 30, not a huge guy but have had success with this. Order your normal food. Normal proportions. Then eat 2/3rds of it. You never deprive yourself or anything and it’s easy to keep track of.
I’m cutting weight rn and just parking like, quarter or even a half mile away helps me w digestion and metabolism. Keep it up man
@@robertschak2546 thank you
Eat until you are satisfied, not until youre full👍
Or.... And this might seem crazy..... eat slightly less and move around slightly more
It’s awesome to see y’all hunting here in my town! Welcome to Bourbon country!
Rare Breed Rye is one of my favorites! Great whiskey, especially considering the price.
god bless the bourbans
it's been keeping generations of us goin...

what’s the best one you recommended? I have family there visiting

Brewzel get the open boxes from the store to transport your bottles 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Tito's boxes are sturdy.
Sweet! He's back. Got a pour of 1920 to watch with
Glad you enjoyed your time in Louisville! Most of us don’t pronounce tomato that way
haha welp...
I've never heard a KY native pronounce it that way. Always ta-may-toe. If you get deep in the woods you'll hear 'mayters'. 😄
Dude... Love the Bourbon hunting videos. Great job
Noble Oak is fantastic! Great to see them on here make an appearance. One of my go-to's under $30. Incredible value.
Happy to see my name up there showing the channel love! Love the content as always!
You're the best!

Well that was the only hello fresh add in a video I've ever watched all watched all the way. 😮

Just started my bourbon collection since you visited Tupelo MS. It’s inspired me. Starting my collection with blue note
Love Blue Note !!! I have 3 back ups in waiting

When I saw you were hunting my hometown I couldn't click fast enough. Hope we get some more videos of you enjoying yourself there
Oh, and Go Cards!
Oh my goodness I just saw this video and that 1897 old forester bottled in bond is right there on the shelf at 1:15 😂 you shoulda grabbed it!
stopping at the "dirty Kroger" in Louisville was such a waste! haha there are so many good local places in the city. Hope you get to to explore even more

You should!
That Makers BEP is fantastic!
Stillhouse Black Bourbon is a must try imo. They have some NASCAR commemorative bottles too, very neat item to hunt down.
makes me happy seeing a sponsor. definitely deserve to get that money man. damn good videos

Thanks Will. Now we know why they call it the hot brown.
The Southern Star Paragon is a double gold winner and it's awesome! I live 15 minutes from it and they have some great whiskeys!
good call on that Lucky Seven, Picked one up yesterday, great stuff.
Driftless Glenn is good stuff. Wisconsin bourbon. I know you don’t like finished whiskey but the port finished Driftless Glenn is outrageous.
great hunt guys!!! love the videos.

I went to Preservation Distillery this spring and LOVE their bourbon!
That Very Old Bartons is great. Not just great for the price, its great period.
Went to a small town spirits store here in Texas and scored a bottle of Blanton’s Gold for $220. Guy said their “normal”customer’s cannot afford it. The Willett’s Old Bardstown BIB is my favorite bourbon. I buy two at a time when I’m in KY. And it’s only sold in KY, btw. It’s an amazing value!
hey! to get your bottles home just ask for a box at the store!
Ruining a good idea here with simple solutions.
Please get a Volkswagen bus!
The Brewzle Machine!
love your bourbon hunting content
These videos are unbeatable!
MM BEP 2023 is a fantastic pour. Good pick up
That calumet 12 year is a good bottle that was up there with the blantons. I enjoy mine
Used to live by Schreck.. man they had some fun finds.. especially in wine and assorted liqours. some great deals and weird finds.
Agree on the benchmark SB!! -when in KY!
Driftless Glen in a Wisconsin Brand, theyve got amazing stuff
Ha! I know that State Liquors store. Picked up Smoke Wagon The Younger when I was there….and also ate dinner at the Brown Hotel. Good times in Kentucky. Hi from Calgary Alberta
Thank you. What a great video! Keep it up!
These bourbon hunting videos are great
The top hat knob creek pick is delicious. And next time make sure you hit up La Bodeguita across from Evergreen Liquor
Next time you’re in Louisville, you have to try La Bodeguita de Mima. It’s a Cuban restaurant with amazing food! I’ve been there once while in town for a concert and would drive down from Michigan just to eat there!
Love that place. Don't get to it often enough.
With a name like that I can assure you without stepping foot inside its authentically Cuban 😂
Been waiting for the Louisville video!
I just got a bottle of that Michter's Barrel Strength Bourbon but haven't opened it. Looking forward to your review.
Ohh damn bet that's real good. Love the US-1 Small Batch
I just did the same thing. Bought it 3 days ago
I was told at the Willett distillery that the Old Bardstown BiB is only available in Kentucky. I bought one and was satisfied for the price, it’s definitely a solid bourbon.
Love the hunting videos. Keep up the good work.
I end up with 10-20 bottles whenever we travel to bring home - Bring the trunk caddy to market!!
‘I’m scared of finished whiskey”
Smart man.
Smart man.
Except Angel’s Envy
9:45, you just need a few empty TITO's boxes. They work great for a bunch of random bottles. 🍾📦
I bought that MM bottle today. That’s some good whiskey. Im glad you got one.
That BEP was one of my favorite bottles from last year
Love these vids, TJ! Blaum Bros is excellent hooch! Wish you woulda picked that one up.
That knob creek barrel pick is Somethin man takes ya from a little tipsy sippin to slurrin ya words and making friends at the bar 😅
Great content. Love watching your videos.
I got me some Boone county barrel strength. Awesome.
Driftless Glenn is made near me in WI. Their single barrel cask strength is INCREDIBLE!
As a native Wisconsinite, I shall concur.
I should give it a try, I'm in Sheboygan.
Hope you review that lucky seven 6 year.
Love these trips!!!!!
Brought a bottle of the double oak rye to my cousins, and we finished it in a evening.
Blaum Brothers is legit. The Galena, IL distillery is a once a year visit for me. The dudes are cool.
Thank you for saying Louisville right bro!
That old bardstown BIB was the best deal of the entire video.
Yes, great video
I have a co worker that is related to Paul Sutton and she gave me a bottle of it. It is amazing. They aren’t in many stores so I’d grab a bottle next time you see it. 100% worth it. I prefer it over Blantons.

Perhaps Will and I can go Blue Moon hunting!
Enjoy the Whiskey Row Bottled in Bond! Did a review myself and thought it was great. Cheers!
That FR Visitor Center Private Selection 20 year though. I love me some Four Roses, and seeing a unicorn like that next to Pappy 15, in the wild?! Where is this place? Bourbon Heaven?
Those Buzzard's Roosts are some good bottles
Love the content. I need to hit some of these stores
Thanks for the support!
Awesome to see the hellofresh sponsorship
