@@whiskey_weather I just bought a wild turkey 13 Japan-exclusive bourbon few days ago. The year 12 is really good I was surprised you passed that up
It always blows my mind what is readily available in some areas and impossible to find in others. Recently I saw EHT for the first time for I think $200. I've never seen Eagle Rare at a store, although I found it at a bar once for $22 for 2 oz. I'd probably buy Eagle Rare if I found a bottle for under $100.
Sheesh! You’re in the a Chicago burbs aren’t you? I have seen ER in a few spots out that way. My dad just got one at Jewel for 39.99 a few days ago. But it is definitely crazy to see what’s available in some spots and what’s not. Weller is everywhere in Ohio, or at least more widely available but I have only seen Eagle Rare there ONCE. Cheers Charley! Thanks for watching as always!
That's true internationally too - here in the UK Eagle Rare is on the shelf in basically every supermarket in the country for $45USD or less (sometimes much less), we have an infinite supply, but then we have no access to most of the stuff you probably see in your local store.
I’m assuming… someone bought a bunch of OWA. Finished it in a honey barrel, then bottled it back in OWA bottles and created their own label. Then asked the store to contract sell it. Only thing I can think of. (Honestly not sure if it is legal - but probably only find it there haha)
That first store was out of their mind. Eagle Rare down the street from me is $35 (always full on shelf), Stagg Jr is $125 (much rarer find). I did pay the price for both of those. Probably wouldn't go that high on Stagg Jr. again, but at $35, Eagle Rare all day. The second store had better deals. $40 for Woodinville is a buy, as was the Redwood Empire Pipe Dream at $37.
I’d buy Eagle Rae all day everyday at that price! Where are you at that you can find it on the shelf all the time? I can’t find it anywhere here in Northern Kentucky or Ohio. Love the Pipe Dream pick for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting, Brian! Cheers man 🥃
@@whiskey_weather I live in Western WA. Many of the regular grocery stores have it here, not just the private liquor stores. I live in a super small town and both stores in my town have ER as an every-day item. I've never seen it more than $39. It's so strange what gets distributed where. We don't get the smaller Kentucky distilleries, but I do see the full lineup of BT, OF, HH, WT, JB, JD, with the more common offerings as regular items and the rarer ones a couple times a year. Pretty fortunate. Of course, we have to pay the WA spirit tax, which is hell.
Im subbing before i watch the video because you said your from Alabama, Seems as if ER 10 year is getting harder and harder to find (on;y saw one bottle in your vid) It's one of my favorite bottles normally get it from GA haven't had much luck lately unfortunately.
Appreciate it Michael! Lived in Huntsville, AL until 2022! Definitely harder to find out by you, (really in most places these days) hope you have better luck soon!

I have a buzzards roost barrel strength bourbon, it’s pretty good. It’s a really cherry bomb it’s almost a cherry medicine taste but in a good way, I enjoyed it. Not really a everyday sipper but I break it every once in a while as a dessert
They don’t always have it available, but definitely could have stopped in Bardstown but probably wouldn’t have been able to hit up a couple of the other stores before my NGB tour. Cheers Jamie! Thanks for watching
Nice get! I haven’t seen one at that price, other than a big allocated drop in one of my recent hunts, in two years! Congrats on the find! Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers 🥃👊🏽
I get the mark it up since it has to be reimported, but damn, I got a few bottles for 48-50 in Japan recently. Same for WT8 which is only 20 over there
Any BT bottle is MSRP period. I don’t chase it so I’m certainly not over paying for it. Stagg 60-65 top in Ohio. It’s a shame that these shop owners think they are allowed to gouge their customers. Don’t sleep on the Dark arts they are bangers.
Will definitely check out Dark Arts! Appreciate the rec! Thanks for watching and agree on the BT. Only one I will pay over for is BTAC ($200-300) or Stagg Jr ($100-125) but not going to spend an arm and leg. Cheers!
Will definitely have to make a trip to Virginia and visit Bowman! Starting to see the Port cask around a lot more but other than that not much else! Cheers Jim! Thanks for watching!
$550 is as cheap as I've seen a bottle of Thomas H. Handy. I may have tried to negotiate it a bit but likely would have walked out with it... Judge me if you must.
Nah. Didn’t get a chance to because of the conference and sadly after spending 5 years there I know that I’m not likely to find anything I can’t find in KY haha. Thanks for watching John! Cheers 🥃

Same! Haven’t had a EHTBP before only the SmB and SiB. My bad on not zooming in on the price 😑 saw one at a store a few days before for $250 and debated it… but knew I was going in this trip and figured I could get a few for that price. Thanks for watching @alwaysfishhard4953 🥃
It hurts to watch this vid. Nice vid but truly hard to watch when you know I will not see any of this, especially at these prices. To bad there weren't more stores like these around the country.
Mass. I am just whining or just jealous. There are only so many bottles and a lot more mouths to drink them so I get that its not everywhere. No we can't do mail order. Wouldn't pay the secondary market value anyway. But boy watching my local store put aside a bottles of BT for regulars and then only putting one bottle out on the shelf. He only gets one case, occasionally. Seeing your vid of several on the floor is nuts. He was a former Beam rep and has contacts, still can't get what is there. Forget the other stuff....I don't see most of what you show anywhere. Bottles that would be top shelf around here are just sitting loosely on top of boxes like its at flea market in your vid. Its nuts. My problem is I like trying new stuff and that is tough around here. Also I have not checked every store but even New Hampshire's state store doesn't have much, though better than here most days. Guess its good for Kentucky tourism...:) Good you live close. Though it does mean I watch fewer bourbon vids...why watch what you can't get? @@whiskey_weather
Correct. Did I say it was scotch? If so, I misspoke. Just did an Irish whiskey review where I mentioned those to. Thanks for the help on the pronouncer! Cheers Nick! 🥃
Confused on your comment John. I’m fine with EHT Small Batch at $50 but not over that. I can get those at the distillery for $40, not going to pay more for it. At I-65 liquors it was $80. Haven’t seen the John J by me in months and it’s $60-65 retail. But appreciate you watching and commenting, cheers
Rule of thumb... If they don't let you film, it's because they're embarrassed of their gouging
Agreed. 💯. Which is also why I point it out. Stores like that don’t deserve to get my money

@@whiskey_weather do you know what the price of it was
@@OwenVenanrd $950 I believe. WAAAAY to much
You definitely should go to the bigger John O's in E-Town
Going to stop by next time! Didn’t even know about it until I popped it into the GPS. Cheers! Thanks for watching and commenting!
How much was the I 95 ehtbp??
If I remember right, it was $449.99
All those aaa need get me some of those on my trip to titanium museum.
@@verntyler7260 safe travels and best of luck hunting! 🥃🥃
I'd go up to 70 for taylor smb 50 for er and 150 for stagg
Good line in my mind. $150 might be the tops for me on Stagg Jr and then $50 max for ER too. Cheers Thomas!
Got an old forester blue label from a small local shop, its 🔥🥃
Those Old Forester blue labels single barrel barrel strength are sooooo good! Cheers Mikey! Thanks for watching and subscribing
I need to do more hunting
Haha I felt the same way. Haha cheers NAS!
Man that KLuke is hard to find. You missed out on a great bottle
Thanks for watching and commenting! Have sent around me in Northern Kentucky a decent amount and I think Seelbach’s just released a few that you can buy too! Cheers!
I have a buzzards roost barrel strength bourbon, it’s pretty good. It’s a really cherry bomb it’s almost a cherry medicine taste but in a good way, I enjoyed it. Not really a everyday sipper but I break it every once in a while as a dessert
I know exactly what you mean. That sounds delicious. Cheers David! Thanks for watching!
If you would have went to Heaven hill distillery. They sell a124
They don’t always have it available, but definitely could have stopped in Bardstown but probably wouldn’t have been able to hit up a couple of the other stores before my NGB tour. Cheers Jamie! Thanks for watching
250 for a stagg crazy. Just got one a few days ago in VA for 60 bucks
Nice get! I haven’t seen one at that price, other than a big allocated drop in one of my recent hunts, in two years! Congrats on the find! Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers 🥃👊🏽
What camera do you use? You videos look good
Appreciate you. Right now just using my iPhone 12!
@@whiskey_weather hey if it works it works haha
@@Atmcashmoney hahaha appreciate you! Thanks for watching 🥃🥃
Wild turkey 12yr. Wow! You know how much they selling it for. Great vids
They told me $250… I debated it but decided to pass. Thanks for watching! 🥃
I get the mark it up since it has to be reimported, but damn, I got a few bottles for 48-50 in Japan recently. Same for WT8 which is only 20 over there
Sams club has double oak for $49
Great price
Have you ever tried the Bluegrass bourbon or rye ?
I have not! I just saw it on Seelbach’s today.
@@whiskey_weather Good Spirits/AMPM here has it so they should have it down your way !
Oh nice! Will have to look later this week! What do you think of it @thekycoffeebean
@@whiskey_weather If you like a rye forward profile you will like what Bluegrass has to offer , they are on the spicier side.
Love Wild Turkey 12 year!
Yes! Just got one in the mail from a buddy since I was bummed I passed up on this one!
@@whiskey_weather how much was it in that store?
She said $250. I got mine from my buddy for $140
Can you please slow down your camera while filming the bottles? We all would like to see the prices. Great video brother!
Thanks Adam! Will try to slow it down for the next one! Cheers 🥃🥃
Cheers!
Point system is for locals. It is what it is
I totally understand point systems but I didn’t find any stores with them in this video.
Thanks for watching @techwithpecs! Cheers!
At $40, I'm trying the Eagle Rare 17
Right? Hard pressed that you’ll find that pour much cheaper than that
U need to go to Virginia, John j Bowman for $53 i get 2 every year
Will definitely have to make a trip to Virginia and visit Bowman! Starting to see the Port cask around a lot more but other than that not much else! Cheers Jim! Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed frank august
Delish! Cheers Morgan 🥃 thanks for watching and commenting!
I like how you just 'meh'ed over a Peerless double oak at msrp
$550 is as cheap as I've seen a bottle of Thomas H. Handy. I may have tried to negotiate it a bit but likely would have walked out with it... Judge me if you must.
No judgement! Spend your money how you want to spend it! It was the cheapest I had seen in since 2020 when I found one for $300
Cheers @ravebcraft96
Just found your channel yesterday @whiskey_weather and enjoying the content so far. Well done

Going out in HSV?
Nah. Didn’t get a chance to because of the conference and sadly after spending 5 years there I know that I’m not likely to find anything I can’t find in KY haha. Thanks for watching John! Cheers 🥃
Stagg here. 300 to 350 all day 😢
That’s a hard pass for me! There Monster! Thanks for watching and commenting cheers!
Mellow Corn 1.75 for $33? Count me in!
Right? Cheers yall!
you had eht barrel proof in frame 3 times and didnt get a zoom on the price. ugh
$450.
It was $450. My bad I looked at it but in my
Mind that was me filming it. Was in a time crunch at I-65 liquors before getting to NGB. Thanks for watching 🥃
@@whiskey_weather thats terrible pricing, oregon has it for under 100 and washington sometimes has it right around 300 with taxes. appreciate the scoop. I want to try out an rd one sometime
Sorry to hear John! Where are you at?
Ok but where was the invite?! 😂
Hahaha you’re always invited… 😂
$43 for Eagle Rare at my local grocery store

Red Spot and Blue Spot is Irish not Scotch.
And Bruichladdich is pronounced "Brook lah Dee"
Correct. Did I say it was scotch? If so, I misspoke. Just did an Irish whiskey review where I mentioned those to.
Thanks for the help on the pronouncer! Cheers Nick! 🥃
Peerless Do🔥🔥🔥
So good! Cheers and go Cubs!
Great video but less cheesy music lol
Haha thanks Ryan! My music is evolving lol 😂 trying to get better and better each video! Thanks for watching brother 👊🏽🥃
ER at $100?!? Lol. Choke on it!
Right?? I’m not paying more than $40 for an ER: cheers Jeffrey!
Stagg. $60
Right at MSRP. The only amount ive spent on a bottle so far. But will pull the trigger up to $100/125 maybe. Cheers Bill!
McKenna $70??!!??😂😂😂
Ha yeah… sadly it jumped up in price the last few years. Thankfully have seen it fall in price the last week months since that video
Won’t pay over 50 for eht but will pay 70 for John j…
Confused on your comment John. I’m fine with EHT Small Batch at $50 but not over that. I can get those at the distillery for $40, not going to pay more for it. At I-65 liquors it was $80. Haven’t seen the John J by me in months and it’s $60-65 retail. But appreciate you watching and commenting, cheers
