The Peerless DO bottles at the distillery are single barrels. The bottles at liquor stores are small batch. The single barrels are much better so you just need to decide if the price difference warrants it. For me, it does

#bottlekill I love the juice that Taconic Distillery puts out. I first discovered them at a whiskey festival and fell in love with their Rye whiskey. Since then I have really enjoyed their Cabernet barrel finished bourbon but their star in my opinion is the Single Malt. I have gone through several bottles of this already!
The kavalan vinho barrique cask strength is amazing. Blue tube at 8:27...kavalan is a taiwan single malt well worth it when you find it, at that price (167)its a buy for me. It doesn't often get imported. My favorite of theirs is their ex-bourbon, where they finish their stuff in ex bourbon barrels.
I try and make a quarterly trip to Southern Star. Big fan. Paragons have been different with their own juice but they are still really good. I also tried a 100% rye mash bill before aging...seems like they would work well with customers.
That Reservoir is really good. They’re from right up the road. They have a Bourbon, Wheat and Rye whiskey. Their Hunter & Scott Bourbon and Rye is solid as well.
