Hello Chris! Thanks so much for posting this! My remote stopped working so I was using the spare. Now, thanks to you I can change the battery without going to the dealership! Thank you again sir! 😊
This vid will always be useful. Thanks from UK. 👍
Had a remote, Chevy, but the new battery still wouldn’t work. Got to looking at the insides and the metallic paint on the back of the rubber buttons wore off, wouldn’t make a circuit with the little fingers on the circuit board.
Luckily, (thank you Dad for not throwing anything away) Dad had metallic duct tape. Cut out tiny 1/8” squares, stuck them on the back of the buttons, put it together … SUCCESS.
Saved me about $80
Keep the vids coming, always enjoyable
Thank you so much for helping me (older lady) figure this out by myself!!
Additional Toyota remote tip. If you have a remote that is always pinging the car, like a lot of the new ones do, and you want to turn it off (to save the battery on your extra remote, or maybe to hide an extra remote inside the car) all you have to do is the following.
Press and hold the lock button while pressing the unlock button twice. To turn it back on just press any button.
This was helpful. Thank you!
You know Chris, even though you did Toyota, it's prob similar to a lot of brands. So, you being you just helped a lot of people. ☺️
Thank you for that tip. I needed that
G-d bless you, buddy: it's people like you who help the little men survive! I knew it would be easy: thanks for showing me how!
I will note, though, that you need a CR2032 **THIN** battery, to fit in the key. I bought ones, and they were thicker than the original battery, and they wouldn't fit. It could be because I'm in a foreign country (Israel.)
There should be no need to find a "thin" battery. The numbers on the battery are the actual standard manufactured size of the battery. A 2032 battery is 20mm in diameter and 3.2mm thick.
Thank you immensely!
Do you know how to pop just the laser key portion out? It seems the older fobs had a button release to remove just the key.
Your the Man Thanks!
Thanks buddy, great video.
Thank you!!
Your good for a smog monster!
I hope you can get 1M Chris 🥰 btw nite
CN, your the man sir

So sounds like I would need reprogramming in my instance. I have an old VW keyfob for my prior vehicle and thought if I could see what battery is in my current car's keyfob, I might be able to replace it... but not going to work, it seems.
No. You can't just use a remote from another car and have it work for the next by replacing the battery. It would need to be reprogrammed to the new car and of course the remote has to be compatible with the new car.
@@chrisnotap The remote appears/looks to be the same, so maybe I will just see if the VW dealership can reprogram it, between the chip shortage and the cost to get a new one.
I have a 2006 Honda Accord do you have a video for the battery key fob replacement?
At this time I do not. But they all come apart very easily. Just look all around the fob and find where you pry it open.
You probably have the key and buttons at the head of the key. Flip the key over, take out Philips screw and she shell pops right off. Download owners manual for your car from Hondas owners website .
Can you show me how to replace the actual fob ?
For that you need to see the dealer so that they can reprogram it to your car.

@@chrisnotap thx to read my comment and replying to it
Made In Indonesia 😎😁
Could you do a video on your lungs after chroming for a month?
u can also use the manual key to open the battery cover.
The manual key is fixed to the remote body and can't be used for that purpose like the lexus key fob.
@@chrisnotap the manual key can be disconnected from the body of the remote.
@@adelsaweiros6247 Actually no. It will come off but you need a hammer and a tiny drift pin punch to get the split pin out that holds the key shaft to the switchblade rotating anchor point.
Hey! Cheating. You had it open previously and cleaned all the lint out. 😉
Thanks! Saved me time and money. Hope you get good karma
You seem to forget that some of us viewers are WAY below this level of skill in Handyness you almost boast about through the vid.....
For instance ; where am I supposed to acquire a paper clip???
About the butta knife I'd guess you are involved whit the ilitary and/or some G.O.
Lol! Correct!
Imagine not knowing this process this process cause 99.9% of fobs are the same
