We are so happy that you shared this video. Took your instructions step by step, and the car now opens. Thank God; what a relief! Merry Christmas to you all!
I followed your instructions and inserted the new battery. I paid $7.88 for a dual battery pack. Did not have to go to the dealership for a key replacement. I'm back in business. Plus, it was easy peasy. Thank you for posting your video.
Thank you so much !!! My battery died and I started using my spare key and that on died !! I went to my local jewelry and brought the battery!!! I use your vid and I change them both yesterday!!! The battery's were $5 bucks !! Did it in 2min!!! Thank you! Thank you!!!!
I was feeling a sense of Oh No!! My key won't open my door. What do I do now? During this shelter in place, Pandemic. The idea came to me RUclips!!! And I found you. Had myl dad buy me the battery, as you suggested and Happy to report it works brilliantly. Thank you for your video. Hope millions will watch it and benefit as I have.
My key stopped working gradually. It went from opening the door sometimes to never opening it. Didn't drop it or damage it prior so I assumed it was the battery. Watched this video and changed the battery and then it started working again. 😁
Theres actually directions on the inner part (that houses the battery) to just pop it open with a coin. Worked like a charm! And to think I was actually entertaining the idea of buying a new key fob smh....the batteries are $5! Making a trip to AutoZone today!
Great video easy to follow but mine is not working. I am not sure what is the problem. Is there a connection issue? Any advice would greatly be appreciated
Thanks so much. This is such a helpful video. Just like panic button in the video, the buttons in my fob popped out very easily so I recommend replacing the battery on a big table so that buttons don't fall on the floor
Thank you. You did not mention the writing on the inside that says "Use Coin to open" with an arrow. That was important, but I found that information on another video. Maybe update yours?
Thanks for the advise to replace the battery on my Camry toyota battery. I'm so glad I don't have to go to a dealer and be charged for it. Thanks again. That was so easy!
Thankyou! Great Vid! I did not know this could so easily be fixed and I was able to do it on your instructions, I have been walking around for months using my key manually! I thought I needed a whole new key.
Thank you!! It was a struggle....I was afraid I would pull something apart and wreck it, but I did not, and fixed it myself instead of going to the auto parts. I found an extra battery and did it myself!
Thank God for the keyhole when the battery dies!! Great video, including the panic button reinstall! I had to do that too! I commented before but had to come back to do this again!!well done video. Thank you! 🙏
@Helpful_DIY Great video, your screwdriver method helped me open the key fob quickly, Thanks! Edit: I'm an idiot nevermind lol the negative side is on the bottom I really appreciate the video, I just put a down payment on a 2017 Corolla LE this week and the Key Fob stopped working; this video helped me get it working in no time.
Amazing video thank you so much! I went to Autozone they accidetanlly sold me CR2032 for my 17 corolla, but I actually needed the CR2016. Love your video helpmed me so much!
It is actually very, very difficult to get the new CR2016 coin battery into the key fob unlike the video shows where it clicks in nicely, and I think Toyota's greedy ass intentionally designed it this way so customers need to go to the local Toyota dealership to spend like $100 for key fob replacement instead of replace the battery themselves. No, I didn't break anything while getting the dead battery out because in the end I eventually managed to insert the new battery, but it took a tremendous amount of effort and time to do so. You have to hold down on the battery hard and pry the battery holder towards it to actually be able to lock the battery into place. So if you want to replace the battery by yourself you have been warned.
Thank you man I was able to replace my car battery so fking easy yet I went almost a year useing the key since the battery died and i didn't take the time to check or look into how to replace it till now 🤣🤦♂️
Let's takes a moment of silence for those who are still searching for this video on how to change a battery in a Toyota without going to the dealership.
Make sure you get the PANASONIC brand batteries! You can get them on Amazon! I bought Energizer and Duracell CR 2016, and they did not work! When they say “exact same batteries”, that’s exactly what they mean!
@@joejoerunya8908I changed my battery to duracell and was ready to pay the dealer $400 to get a new keyfob bc the buttons stopped working, until i saw your post. I just installed the panasonic battery and it work straight away. Thank you very much!!

If I replace the battery and it doesn't work to lock/unlock the car. Will it be the small motherboard that will need to be replaced?
Thank you for the video. Very easy to follow and easier than I thought.
Definitely saved me some money from going to the dealership.
Wow.. THANK YOU! I used a dime to open the fob and popped open in one second.
