I appreciate the research. You've taken all the guesswork out of equipment setup, and also shown the "vital vee" logic for clean swift kills. All we have to do is sit, wait, and shoot straight
It would be cool if you and the Rocket Man lab radar in tow tested arrows that weren’t tuned-arrows that launched ‘like a banana’ to see what the difference in momentum and KE would be.
Yeah, I think I'm going to switch to a left bevel single bevel. What I didn't realize last year when nock tuning with bare shafts, was that my arrow wants to rotate counter clockwise. So now what I'll do is fletch with a left helical, go with a left bevel single bevel and use loctite to secure the broadheads to the insert.
Any way to measure the amount of force needed, to push each of those broadheads through a medium ( even it it was a potato )? Am asking b/c I would suspect that it would take more force to push the 3 blade, and the least force for the single-bevel ( once splitting occurs )
C'mon Troy... No disclaimer at the beginning warning viewers of graphic content of... wait for it... Potato Carnage? (JUST KIDDING) I enjoy ALL of your videos, LOGIC prevails in each. You are to be commended for your dedication. The single bevel is a wedge. A really, really sharp wedge. Long and slender for mechanical advantage. Heavy, for more KE downrange. That whole logic thing again. Thank YOU!
A question/broadhead for you to ponder. Do you have thoughts or experience with the Ozcut Hurricane broadhead. Three blade, single bevel, offset blades. My choice is the 150gr. But would a heavier two blade make a better choice.
Interesting what a 3 blade single Bible would the bubble would do if it would cause more rotational damage provided there was a bearing bring on the answer
I'm an old school bow hunter that has been around the block with broadheads, I'm looking very hard at the single blade broadheads, however my equipment has changed due to shoulder injuries. So what are your thoughts on single bevel broadheads out of aa crossbow. Pro's & Con's
Crossbows nowadays are so powerful if you have a decent one it doesn’t really matter what you shoot. if I were to shoot a crossbow I’d go with a low profile 3 blade or even a high quality mechanical. But it all depends on what it is your hunting.
@@chickennuggetinagutter.7864 If it 'doesn't really matter' in terms of penetration potential due to the crossbow's power, wouldn't the only thing you really care about be the durability of the broadhead? Seems like a single piece good quality steel head is your best bet.
@@FerventReminder you are correct. Trust. I shot a buck in the butt (not on purpose) and he went 50 yards. It buried up to the knock. I use vpa double bevel 150 grn.
I probably don’t understand the full concept of this test but I was wondering if a potato is comparable to animal tissue. An animal unlike a potato won’t crack open if you apply enough pressure. muscles stretch tissue stretches so how does this show anything? Love the channel love the ideas keep up the great work!!!
This is an example of the effects of a single bevel broadhead on bone. On soft tissue the effects are even more devastating, as the continued rotation causes a starburst cut path through tissue

Good info for me to consider for when I buy my potato tag next season.

Would there be any advantage to a three-blade single-bevel?

Would only need to use a scale below them to measure that.
Can we please see a video on tuning broadheads? The flight of field points vs broadheads is very different!

Excellent video !!
5:21 Just asking out of curiosity: Why the cut and change of the potato?

also, the single bevel has a super wide ferrule -- ,maybe that's why it split the tater...
Very good video keep them coming.

How do you feel about some of the single bevels with bleeders?
I used an iron will single bevel with bleeders, I shot a 145 inch 10 right through the thick part of the shoulder at 35 yards. Deer died in 40 yards.
Single bevel easy to take to a higher level of sharp due to the bevel to blade angle.
Have you tested a 3 blade single bevel?
Are they making these 225 tuffhead anymore

It’s about bone, not muscle tissue.
👍👍👍
