Just languages... He is just showing courtesy, that doesn't mean we all have to do it...Thank you is perfectly fine
And it's truly shameful. Not just the fact that people use "Thank You" instead of "Dhanyawaad" nowadays but also the fact that your family feels awkward coz of that. That's the reason I like the Nordic countries like Russia or East Asian countries like Japan or Korea. They don't feel any awkwardness or shame in speaking just there mother tongue. And the society doesn't force it's people to learn English. They would rather bring translators to an event than learn English for showing a hollow pride of status and class. They hold onto their culture and traditions with a huge respect (at least the good parts of it).
I say shukriya to people I think who may not understand english.

sad that India was dropped from F1 calendar. It could have been a nice technical & speed circuit.
Chada its one of the most technically and practically challanging circuit.Its a shame it was dropped because the politicians in UP were too hard ass about the taxes and all,By which i mean,they didnt get enough bribe.

I liked the interviewer, it was fast paced, he must be from a light hearted show
Such patient answers to average (pointless / common / repeated) questions. Vettel was clearly a nice guy even when the world hated him for his dominance / arrogance on -track. Him saying "dhanyavaad" is just so sweet of him !

This is kind of hilarious. The interviewer is clearly not used to interviewing a f1 driver or any sportsperson. Seb is clearly not used to such questions. So much awkwardness in the air.
Also people hating on it need to realise, this was nearly a decade ago. Almost everything from then feels stupid. Also F1 was a new thing in India. Not many people had clue about it. About the accent, well over half a billion people speak it, so get over yourself.
