This is so good! I wanna be Katara for Halloween just because of this, and I don't usually dress up for Halloween. I didn't even notice that Katara had a regular bun in some episodes...
This is almost exactly how I do it, but I add a step to make it look a bit more like the braid is coming out of the bun. When separating the two sections of hair for the braid and the bun, I pull the top section down through the bottom (one of these days I'll get a topsy tail to make that easier), so the bottom section now sits on top, and the top is now the bottom. Then I'll twist the 'bun section' as you did, and when I get to the point where there's a little bit hanging down that can't be pulled through, I just braid that into the braided section. I also rope braid the hair loopies, but that's more because I have thick, slightly coarse and frizzy hair and it doesn't hang quite as nicely as yours, even with a couple twists. xD; (I was so excited to see you do this, I was secretly hoping you would. Other tutorials I had seen on Katara's hair always looked a little goofy, I knew you'd pull it off well.)

it’s actually super easy to do the hair flip without the topsy tool! just make a low pony, loosen the ponytail by splitting your hair in half right above the hair tie and then guide the ponytail through the hole!
@@mariaperez-xx4kl No problem, I made a good majority of it. I used athletic tape on my arms, blue leggings and some boots I already had. I think I used and a kimono-type robe pattern I got from Michael's. Hope this helps!

I actually did this as a semi-formal hairstyle and it really speaks to your ability to explain stuff that even I managed to pull it off successfully!
