It was one very long particular day for Kobe Bryant. Over the summer of 2003, Bryant had been charged with rape in Colorado. Bryant's public image of being the league's posterboy had all but evaporated into an image of an aldulterer rapist which still holds true to this day. On December 19th, 2003, Bryant woke up at 4:30 AM for a flight to Eagles, Colorado and a full day in court. He effortlessly transitioned from court to court in Staples Center in time for the game against the Denver Nuggets. Bryant would come off the bench in the 2nd quarter and chip in 5 dimes in the quarter alone. He would then go on to hit the very famous game winning buzzer beating jumpshot over Jon Barry to cap off a long day.
This is such a dramatic moment. If some of you didn't know, SLAM magazine published a cover story for Kobe titled: Kobe Bryant- Season on the Brink. But it wasn't only his season, it was his career. All of the greatness that we've seen since that summer was at risk, and the fact that he dealt with that risk and could still put on a show is nothing short of ludicrous. It's unfathomable. I can't even begin to comprehend the drama, the high pressure that he was dealing with. Crazy. Go LAKERS!

I’ll never forget this game. That year I fell in love with the game of basketball. With Melo Lebron Dwade & all them dudes I was hooked. The Nuggets were actually good that year and I already knew about the Lakers so this was a crucial game at that time. Kobe broke my heart for the first time this game. He’s my favorite player of all time but I hated him when he played against my Nuggets. And dude always had it out for us too lol
