    The play he talking about I remember vividly. He pushed Kobe but Kobe couldn't react because he had 6 tech and if he got a 7th he'd be suspended 1 game. A possession or 2 later they ran a set where Kobe yelled at Pau to set a screen on on Jones. When Pau set the screen Kobe caught the lob for an and 1 oop. Jones was pissed because Birdman didn't rotate to cover the lob since his man (Pau) set the screen on Jones. That was also the infamous game 3 where Kobe pulled up over JR Smith and hit the 3 and debuted the Snarl face

    • @jordanjenkins1671
      @jordanjenkins1671 2 месяца назад +2

      His IQ shows in how he studied the greats from his high school days all the way through his NBA career. Studied all their moves, would ask them directly why they did something a certain way just to absorb their knowledge, trained with some of them to add to his bag, etc. There are multiple videos of Kobe breaking down NBA plays, teaching how to read offenses and defenses, etc. It's no wonder so many of today's stars went to Kobe to improve their game.

    Raja Bell, Ron Artest, Danthay Jones these players carved out a reputation defending Kobe which prolonged their career. (Artest was a Stud but still benefit from prolonging his career).
    Dillion Brooks trying to do that too while simultaneously hoping to be a tiny part in a documentary. Hate them or love them, they know what they're doing.
    -----
    Also I'm guessing Kobe passed more when Jones was guarding is because he know Jones is more than NBA standards of dirty, Karl probably told him to injure Kobe if the opportunity presents itself.
    & The "smart AF" "IQ" comments on Kobe going easy on the 12 minutes Jones was on the floor always makes me laugh
    If any current day player were to say/do that, they're the same players that will type "That's why this era/league is soft AF! The late great Mamba would go hard whenever he's on the court!"
    Next level glaze🍬
    Also this Denver is playing that "80s/90s hard nosed defense" credit to Karl AKA we got 0 defensive skills so we rough you out. We don't got the talent to match you so we gonna play dirty.
