Joseph Burke you do realize the Gamcube has better graphics than PS2. In fact, ALL of those third party games on other platforms looked better on Gamcube than PS2. Only the Xbox had better graphics... Oh yeah, and also, the n64 had better graphics than the PS1...
Similarities with the Xbox, PS2 and GameCube: Good startups Good exclusive games Each had their upsides: Xbox was the most powerful PS2 sold the most Gamecube continued its franchises in better quality I think at the end, they all tie. Good game Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
I consider the original xbox rather underrated the ps2 had better features though like the memory cards which were way better than the modern big ass memory boxes
Had the Xbox, but played lots of PS2 and GC at my friends place growing up. I'm thankful for growing up in the PS1/N64 and then PS2/Xbox/GC era of gaming. 1995 - 2005 was the golden era of console gaming.
Gamecube was a piece of shit. Period. I had one and it got stolen, and I didn't give a flying fuck about it and still don't. There is what maybe 4 to 5 good games on Gamecube that I can't get anywhere else.
The last good game generation both are great consoles Xbox= pure power+online, also the only time an XBOX machine had many good exclusive games Gamecube= Best exclusives of the time, power+Fully backwards with GB,GBC AND GBA PS2= loads of games thanks to the hype from PS1 and also good exclusives Dreamcast= Great Sega exclusives, pioner in online games, VMU was nice and PS2 Similar graphics Now we had the ps4 and XONE , they are basically the same machine but Sony had the advantage from the exclusives,Nintendo no more tried to do a powerhouse since the Gamecube and is confortable as beign the "2 second console/alternative console with Switch.
Actually id say the 7th generation was the best because it offered so much variety and true awesomeness You had the ds and wii which were good for newcomers From 2005 to 2008 we had the xbox 360 that had so many amazing games and had awesome online and in 2009 the ps3 took over and brought in so many more exclusives and awesome features and they were all backwards compatible with things like virtual console and the playstation store as well as being able to play there immediate predecessors also if you take the first god of war vs god of war 2018 they look like night and day But get god of war 3 and it looks so awesome Also we the 7th generation was the last time we had over to 2 games per series per generation, game obviously how there 6 spiderman games during 7th but only 1 in the 8th
Actually PS2 had the best exclusives. Gamecube had basically two big series of games: Mario and Zelda. But I'd spend all day long mentioning ps2 amazing exclusives
just livin And smash And pokemon And f zero And star fox And fire emblem And kirby And animal crossing And metroid And donkey kong And i can keep going on with more obscure things like waverace and chibirobo
just livin But i mean i still prefer ps2 exclusives It has tekken Team japan games (ico, shadow of the collosus) Gran turismo Jak Final fantasy Ratchet and clank Metal gear Gta Socom And yeah all the other amazing exclusives i cant remember
+Merlin Schneider so bad that they've kept almost the same design for all 3 console generations? Nintendo gas the shittiest controllers. Gamecube controller was an absolute mess. It was extremely uncomfortable and awkward just like the N64 controller.
+CAX 117 Worst placement of buttons. Once you got used to it, it was fine. But it was the worst controller to just pick up and start playing. PS and Xbox had similar button placement and they were extremely easy to just pick up and use. GameCubes controllers was comfortable to hold, but not to use.
+Jesus Rojas yes I did play the gamecube. Gamecube and PS were far superior to the Xbox in everyway except for Online play and the controller in my opinion. Gamecubes controller was uncomfortable to use, but not to hold. Button placement was a huge problem for me compared to the other consoles.
as far as the system goes, it is better but i preferred my GameCube. although some games i really liked were only available for ps so i had to get one.
To be honest, Ive never heard of XBOX until my ps2 died in 2012 and I had to buy a new console LOL. Sadly I had no money for the PS3 because I was still a KID, so my parents bought me an XBOX 360 (best console of the 3 from microsoft) and now with great pride I own a PS4 Because I finally have a JOB!
I own the PS2, I also own a GameCube and I own an Xbox for me personally I found myself playing my PS2 more then the other two but don't get me wrong The GameCube and Xbox were still great systems, my only problem with the Xbox is the fact that I had to send it in about 10 times over the years to get it fixed, it keeps breaking down, either than that I do own a lot of the Xbox games and they are great games mind you. GameCube I very much enjoy I have never tried the DreamCast but apparently my brother has and he told me the DreamCast was great for it's RPG's but that's all that it was great for either then that my brother tells me the other games sucked.
Yeah and compare that to Halo 1. Microsoft may have had "better specs" but they sure didn't seem to know how to use them. The Gamecube's graphical capability from the N64 (which is ugly as sin, imo) is the biggest visual leap in gaming history between generations.
Halo was made by Bungie, was a launch title and was designed to run on different hardware before Microsoft bought the company. Look at Halo 2 for a better example of what the original XBOX could do. Also look at the Multiplats released at the time and you'll see they look and ran best on the XBOX (Excluding PC)
Halo 2 was a graphical improvement over the original, but you're just straight up wrong about multi-platform titles running better on XBOX. As a rule, they did run better on XBOX than PS2, but on the few titles that were shared between Gamecube and XBOX, the Gamecube ports outdid the XBOX in every way.
Honestly, I don't know many games that were on both XBOX and Gamecube as Nintendo had really bad third party support on the system, but what comes to mind specifically were the Sonic games. Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog ran terribly on both XBOX and PS2, but were quite stable on Gamecube.
You don't have to agree with me, but despite it's size, it's pretty cool how the Wii U gamepad has a screen and acts as a tv remote. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
I don't understand why people treat melee like a god. I'm not saying I don't like melee, the game is beautiful, but people:ITS JUST A SMASH GAME LIKE ALL THE OTHER ONES.
same i love xbox to death but back in the day not many xbox games left me wanting to play more besides halo, i spent so much time on smash and the legend of zelda and other fun classics
But the ps2 had a better and wider game variety, also had better 3rd party support, had uses other than a game console, had backwards compatibility, and overall had better exclusive titles
Easy win for Nintendo Game Cube: Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Resident Evil Rebirth, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 4, Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II, Phantasy Star Online Episode III, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Sonic Adventures 2: Battle, Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Baten Kaitos 1 & Origins, Tales of Symphonia, Eternal Darkness, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (very good 4 players experience with GBA), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker & Twilight Princess & Four Swords Adventures, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Ikaruga, Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2, Killer 7, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Best Library ever. And of course: only 199€ (99€ after 2 years), Game Boy Player with all Game Boy games on TV, best controller.
just want to point out, Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II, Phantasy Star Online Episode III, Sonic Adventures 2: Battle, Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, and Ikaruga. are all either dreamcast games or were in development for the dreamcast before being ported to other systems. credit where credit is due.
Ave Ver ps2 had more games in general, however it was awash in shovelware titles compared to other systems of the generation because everyone and their dog tried to program for it, need i remind you of "snow white and the seven clever boys"?
5:45 *of all time. Twice as many units sold as PS3 and 360, and even more than the Gameboys and DS, which are handhelds and far cheaper. It also has a library of games more than 3 times larger than the nearest competitor. The PS2 is a behemoth, and without question the greatest console ever made.
i played all 3 before ps2 first play station, first og xbox was used from my cousin, game cube don't have one but it at my cousin's house and my friend's house a long time ago. all 3 have their pros and cons i think it's a tie for all 3.
Banana Phone I do think the absence of online was a mistake, but the way you said "NO FEATURES more than playing games," that sounded super stupid cause it's a VIDEO GAME console.
With much respect for its contemporaries, Playstation all day, and to this day still is ahead of the curb. Learning what works and doesn't work and giving fans what they want.
I can see how PS2 would be considered the best console of the three, but there is no way in hell the Xbox is better than the Gamecube. What exclusives, which is the only question that really matters when deciding on which is the best console, did the Xbox have? Aside from Halo, pretty much none that couldn't be found on other consoles or PC. The Gamecube had an awesome library of games with wide diversity and solid games in all categories.
Fable/TLC, Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, Jet Set Radio Future, Dead or Alive 3, Raze's Hell, Amped 1 & 2, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Mech Assault 1 & 2, Blinx, and Jade Empire. The Original Fable was xbox only however, TLC was later ported to the PC. Escape From Butcher Bay was also an exclusive but was later on PC. But if you have not played the first 3 games I listed, you're missing out.
+Ryan so? Even with most of their games being published by Nintendo it still has a ton of amazing games, more than Xbox anyways. I would list them but I don't want to waste my whole day writing a comment on RUclips
GameCube =nintendo=win. Jk, ps2 is the best selling game console ever with a huge amount of games, great controller, great graphics and great games. But I'll still be Nintendo.
XTREME JJ I had both. My PS2 broke after 10 years. I got rid of my GameCube when i got the Wii, but i kept the memory cards, the games and the controller. But i do prefer the PS2 over the GameCube, both had great exclusives, but the PS2 had better third party support and i could use it for my dvds and cds.
Someone obviously has never had an original GameCube or Xbox. I've been fortunate enough to have all 3, with crash bandicoot on the ps2, Smash bros Marlee on the GameCube, and Halo Combat evolved on the Xbox. They were all great. Not time to be a stupid little fanboy.
My brother actually had the orgibal xbox and a friend had a game cube but I think the ps2 had farrier better games And crash was probably one of the ps2 weaker titles it never really improved from the ps1 version (infact I would say crash3 was better than the ps2 version) Xbox had halo and........er halo And Nintendo was always the best when it came to multilayer games
+Daniel Critchley omg don't be a fucking fanboy jeez. I literally came in here with nice things to say and of course the fanboy has to shove shit down my throat like wtf
+The Champ I'm not a fan boy. infact I play xbox 1 now. but I honest think the ps2 was by far the best in that generation nes was best in that generation snes was best in that generation ps1 ps2 hard to call after that
Couldn't play movies and music. It had no features over the competition besides the GBA player and GBA Link. if You didn't have a GBA then those features were useless.
Actually, it means a lot. The Gamecube by itself can't play GBA games, which means that you have to buy the adapter. The PS2, however, has the ability to play PS1 games and DVDs right out of the box, which means that even if you don't have any PS2 games, you can still find plenty of use for it.
It's pretty unfair that they have some rounds that the gamecube can't even compete in like online, idk maybe it's just me being a fanboy but I say that is unfair
I was thinking of NA and EU which were a bit over a year, but you are right about JP which the DreamCast lasted for bit over 2 years (3 not counting months). Sega made a lot of screw ups before the 6th gen. Those screw ups hurt the DreamCast and eventually led to its early death. RIP
***** so the original xbox died sometime before the year 2010? also, the dreamcast community is still the largest online community of the 6th generation.
***** "Sonic was the only really popular one anyway, just like the rest of SEGA's consoles" the only reason you say that is because you know nearly nothing about SEGA consoles other than their flagship franchise. it would be like me saying *"oh Nintendo had nothing but Mario."* if i knew little to nothing about Nintendo consoles. and if *"But I said I didn't care about Dreamcast enough to know about its good games"* is true then you are by no means qualified to say *"Sonic was the only really popular one anyway, just like the rest of SEGA's consoles"* because you admit that you dont know what you are talking about. the fact of the matter is that SEGA had many popular franchises and one offs over the years and you writing them off as not existing or not mattering is the same as somebody else writing off *Metroid, the legend of zelda, donkey kong, star-fox, fire emblem, and kirby* as not existing or not mattering. because they had not heard of them, because they are ignorant of Nintendo. dont talk smack about something if you are ignorant about it. it makes you look childish.
+XenoGamer Not a huge fan of the oversaturation of DLC that's standard with Dead or Alive nowadays, but still really fun gameplay. Think I'll pick up Last Round sometime soon.
+Nathan D (BWNightwing) IKR? The Original Xbox DLC should've gotten ported to DVDs instead of being scrapped altogether after the 2010 Original Xbox Live shut down.
+Marco Hidalgo Don't think many people care about getting the skins and such for Dead or Alive on Xbox, though seeing the DLC still available in some form would be cool
Xbox sucked. Jet Set Radio Future was its only good game which we can now emulate on PC with CXBX Reloaded. GameCube and PS2 had a better library with way better games.
@@denis-florian_0.57 Other console: *Also won't have Super Smash Bros. @@eldritchmendtorr7753 Fair enough, but I was only mentioning GameCube exclusives, and I think at the very least the GameCube more than likely had the best exclusive lineup of it's generation, with maybe only the PS2 beating it out depending on your tastes.
@@lightyeryerscoundrels5581 I'd take Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Pikmin 2, and Metroid Prime over those games any day of the week, it's all about personal preference. Plus you can't play each of the games you mentioned on any single console anyways since God of War is a PS2 exclusive and Halo is an Xbox exclusive.
Haha idk what you guys are talking about, when I was in middle and high school 2001-2006, there was definitely all out wars breaking out around every corner, no where was safe lol.
LOL At least the PS3/PS4 isn't getting hit off every other day, has a better set of exclusives, and isn't a downgrade like the XB1. Not to mention the XB360 getting red ring of death. Xbox can't even touch PS.
Gamer Swordsman that would be right - the wii u, the wii u just doesn't have any games, hurts to say that because i own one. I don't own a garbagebox one or childstation 4 though.
Couldnt have gone wrong with any of the three. there were awesome games you and your friends could play for hours. (i was lucky enough to have all of them available)
Ok, even though I was more of a GameCube fan growing up, I gotta say this is actually kind of a fair comparison and I can accept this verdict. The only issue I had was automatically dismissing the GameCube in the extra features category, cause the Game boy player is a really good extra that offers players the ability to play GameCube, Game boy, Game boy colour and Game boy advance games (Many of which were re-releases of NES and SNES games, expanding the library further), all on the television. Though being a sold separately feature, I can understand their point.
I'm a ps2. Had a gamecube and played Xbox. The ps2 controller is my favorite. But Xbox controller is better than gamecube. Also the original ps1 controller had no joysticks.
I can never decide which console was better to me personally due to how good that generation was. For me, it went like this: PS2 i had the most games for, with Xbox and Gamecube having similar amounts of games (around 15-20). Games that gave me the most enjoyment though were the following: 007 Everything or Nothing (PS2) 007 Nightfire (PS2) Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (PS2) GTA San Andreas (PS2) MGS2 (PS2) MGS3/MGO (PS2) Ratchet and Clank Trilogy (PS2) Resident Evil Outbreak 2 (PS2) Spider Man 2 (PS2) Tony Hawks Underground 1+2 (PS2) Zone of the Enders (PS2) Mario Kart Double Dash (GC) Metroid Prime 1+2 (GC) MGS1 TTS (GC) Resident Evil Remake (GC) Resident Evil 4 (GC, originally exclusive) Sonic Adventure 1+2 (GC) Super Smash Bros Melee (GC) Super Mario Sunshine (GC) TLOZ WW (GC) Halo CE (Xbox) Halo 2 (Xbox) Burnout Revenge (Xbox) Conker Live & Reloaded (Xbox) Star Wars Battlefront 1+2 (Xbox) Ghost Recon 2 + Summit Strike (Xbox) Splinter Cell trilogy (Xbox) I can't decide. Alot of the PS2 games i did play were also multi-platform. I'd say game wise they all had an incredibly solid line of games to play although I do think some of the Gamecube exclusives could have been better, namely Super Mario Sunshine I never got on with although Metroid Prime and Smash Bros Melee were astounding. For actual hardware though: PS2 - DVD support was huge back then, optional online multiplayer, Backwards compatible, expansion bay. Gamecube - Miniature discs (should have used DVD's), 4 controller ports, Gamecube player and connectivity with GBA, 2nd most powerful console. Xbox - DVD support but required remote, unified and best online service of the generation, most powerful console, 4 controller ports, hard drive for dlc and game saves On paper, the PS2 is the weakest from a gaming perspective but offered the most complete feature set out of the box. It was affordable, allowed the user to choose if they wanted to play online, it could be used as a cheap DVD player out of the box and was purchased just for that reason, had the most 3rd party support and ultimately proved to be the most popular. Gamecube was a brilliant console, it was the 2nd most powerful console with a great first party lineup of games with some very unique features and connectivity with the GBA. However, the Gamecube could have been so much more, the small optical discs meant developers had less space to put a game onto, often resulting in multiple discs, cut features or 3rd party developers just not bothering with it. Had the Gamecube supported DVD discs and playback, i think it would have faired much better. The original Xbox was a surprise. I remember how people said they would avoid it due to it being MIcrosoft, the price and design. However, Halo CE ended up revolutionising the console fps like Goldeneye 007 did before it and bringing a lot of PC features to consoles. LAN (System Link) was amazing with Halo CE, countless hours with it. Then Xbox Live was released and it was finally online multiplayer done right on a console. Halo 2 ended up being a huge juggernaut, which I still miss to this day. The Xbox was the most powerful console with spectacular visuals and towards the end, I started buying 3rd party games for it over the PS2 and GC based on its graphical power and online capabilities. Ultimately, it ended up 2nd due to successful innovation in the console industry. It was such a good generation all round though. My PS3 still plays all my PS2/PS1 games and my Wii U still plays my Gamecube games (not officially supported though). If the Xbox One could just play original Xbox games as well as 360 with original Xbox Live for supported titles, I would be very happy. Still many great games from that generation that I need to catch up on.
halo3odst The Dreamcast was unfortunately too far ahead of it's time. Broadband adoption rates weren't as high as when Xbox Live was released. If I am honest, my opinion is that Microsoft got lucky, when Xbox Live was released, Broadband was more readily available for the average consumer and by the time Halo 2 was released, they had invented TruSkill matchmaking, which is still used today (at least in the console space). I like to imagine what the Dreamcast would have been like if it pulled online gaming off successfully like the Original Xbox did and I mean no disrespect to the console as it was a good piece of hardware but in the console space at least, Mircosoft somehow made online gaming work.
NightmareFAKER just investigate something dumbass en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto:_San_Andreas en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider-Man_2_(video_game) and COD is garbage
But people say that PS4 is better than xone because is powerfull so xbox was better than PS2 because is powerfull. See now ? These are the sony fan boys. The same argument is not valid
+Hugo no, the reason ps4 is better than xbone is because Microsoft attempted to force gamers to pay an extra 100 bucks for a peripheral which they don't even support anymore, forced DRM for physical games, weak and generic exclusives ( a problem Xbox has always had ) an e3 event focused 90% on TV and sports apps, false promises that were only halfway met like the halo tv series and that lame time slowing game/tv crossover I can't even remember the name of. Microsoft committed the crime of betraying people's trust, and that's something that Sony is just barely recovering from after the 2011 breach. The only difference is; Sony was negligent and wreckless while Microsoft just plain tried to fuck everyone blatantly
All 3 consoles had something different to offer. They were all fantastic.

+TheGrandRevo local multiplayer was still the superior way to play in early 2000's anyways. It's a shame split-screen is dead.
I actually agree with this list 100%.
1: PS2
2: Xbox
3: GameCube
4: Dreamcast
FUCKING MELEE
I know Melee is a great game.
gc is god though
actually it should be:
1: GameCube
2: Dreamcast
3: ps2
4: Xbox
nah more like:
1. Dreamcast
2.Gamecube
3.ps2
4.xbox
may the dreamcast rest in peace, rip sega America
The last good game generation
both are great consoles
Xbox= pure power+online, also the only time an XBOX machine had many good exclusive games
Gamecube= Best exclusives of the time, power+Fully backwards with GB,GBC AND GBA
PS2= loads of games thanks to the hype from PS1 and also good exclusives
Dreamcast= Great Sega exclusives, pioner in online games, VMU was nice and PS2 Similar graphics
Now we had the ps4 and XONE , they are basically the same machine but Sony had the advantage from the exclusives,Nintendo no more tried to do a powerhouse since the Gamecube and is confortable as beign the "2 second console/alternative console with Switch.
They're confortable at selling 150 millions DS too
Actually id say the 7th generation was the best because it offered so much variety and true awesomeness
You had the ds and wii which were good for newcomers
From 2005 to 2008 we had the xbox 360 that had so many amazing games and had awesome online and in 2009 the ps3 took over and brought in so many more exclusives and awesome features and they were all backwards compatible with things like virtual console and the playstation store as well as being able to play there immediate predecessors also if you take the first god of war vs god of war 2018 they look like night and day
But get god of war 3 and it looks so awesome
Also we the 7th generation was the last time we had over to 2 games per series per generation, game obviously how there 6 spiderman games during 7th but only 1 in the 8th
Actually PS2 had the best exclusives. Gamecube had basically two big series of games: Mario and Zelda.
But I'd spend all day long mentioning ps2 amazing exclusives
just livin
And smash
And pokemon
And f zero
And star fox
And fire emblem
And kirby
And animal crossing
And metroid
And donkey kong
And i can keep going on with more obscure things like waverace and chibirobo
just livin
But i mean i still prefer ps2 exclusives
It has tekken
Team japan games (ico, shadow of the collosus)
Gran turismo
Jak
Final fantasy
Ratchet and clank
Metal gear
Gta
Socom
And yeah all the other amazing exclusives i cant remember
Ps2&GameCube are Equals for me. Never played the OG Xbox
The xbox controller is horrible , i had it with a ps2
same same bruh long live ps and gc
Don't need a fucking rocket scientist to realize PS2 will win

Hell yeah! I still play the badass console!
Ps2 won that gen hands down. GameCube go's 2nd and Xbox didn't really got my attention and lot my friends Xbox broke too
well we need to remember which one had its last official game released over a generation after it was made.
***** my dad is not Bruce Wayne sooo...
GameCube I very much enjoy I have never tried the DreamCast but apparently my brother has and he told me the DreamCast was great for it's RPG's but that's all that it was great for either then that my brother tells me the other games sucked.
true so true my friend

Ikr so hard to see it. Maybe they should have made it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger
Oh shit, bro there's an xbox logo on that controller
My favorite console generation, owned all 3 consoles. They made my high school and college gaming days unforgettable.
03chrisv k
The PS2 days !! I miss them 😮😮
gamecube games still look good today. look at a screenshot of star fox assault.
SlowBurne lol, do you have any examples of that?
Honestly, I don't know many games that were on both XBOX and Gamecube as Nintendo had really bad third party support on the system, but what comes to mind specifically were the Sonic games. Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog ran terribly on both XBOX and PS2, but were quite stable on Gamecube.
I still play Gamecuba games today! Really good console
GAMECUBE RULES :D
gamecube fanboys ftw grew up on mario sunshine
+timebomb456 same Mario sunshine
I miss this game, and zelda wind waker, my gamecube crash a long time ago and i sold all my games.

Ps2 truly a masterpiece.
The best console ever made and most selling
I agree
@@kadiraydukureh7680 and to think the Nintendo DS almost out sold it LOL
And Gamecube had better hardware
@@Scudmaster11 hardware isnt everything
The Gamecube controller is the best controller ever made.
I agree. The Xbox one controller is another controller that I really think is one of the best.
I do love my XBONE Controller.
You don't have to agree with me, but despite it's size, it's pretty cool how the Wii U gamepad has a screen and acts as a tv remote. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
Antasma1 lol. I actually love the gameplay a lot, I just forgot about it.
that controller is soo good that people still are useing it
i had all three systems in high school and the gamecube got far more use, especially when friends were over
SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE alone should give the GameCube 3 points right off the bat.
Chris Pollard Sly 3 could also do the same for Playstation.
Final Fantasy for the Playstation. Halo for the XBOX man. All of these consoles have great titles.
ZELDA fan its OVERATED
Then it needs 3 points for double dash
I don't understand why people treat melee like a god. I'm not saying I don't like melee, the game is beautiful, but people:ITS JUST A SMASH GAME LIKE ALL THE OTHER ONES.

SoCuteAri i had all 3 of them too.but now i have ps3 wii xbox.and xbox360.
+william whitehead I've only had three systems in my life, a Wii, a PS3, and a PS4
I have that problem now many xbox games left that i want to play besides Gears of War.
Baksteen Tegen Je Kop original Xbox games were better than most of the Xbox 360 games
GameCube easily wins, it's a fucking cube for Pete's sake
But the ps2 had a better and wider game variety, also had better 3rd party support, had uses other than a game console, had backwards compatibility, and overall had better exclusive titles
And a better controller
psh GameCube had two good games smash brothers and Mario kart even dreamcast beats GameCube
Nintendo nerd lol
+Karma lol
Easy win for Nintendo Game Cube:
Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Resident Evil Rebirth, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 4, Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II, Phantasy Star Online Episode III, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Sonic Adventures 2: Battle, Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Baten Kaitos 1 & Origins, Tales of Symphonia, Eternal Darkness, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (very good 4 players experience with GBA), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker & Twilight Princess & Four Swords Adventures, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Ikaruga, Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2, Killer 7, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

+RG07 Productions Me too
Yes
kinda unfair for gamecube
No, it isn't. Nintendo came to the party unprepared and suffered for it.
Minecraft Man why
The GameCube had better specs than ps2 i wouldn’t say they were unprepared
Banana Phone I do think the absence of online was a mistake, but the way you said "NO FEATURES more than playing games," that sounded super stupid cause it's a VIDEO GAME console.
Ps2:Nostalgia (Also god of war 2)
Xbox:Power ( and multiplayer)
Gamecube:That damn startup
Ps2 more power and wins in the startup

Custom playlists on GTA3/VC when those came out. That became my go-to console just for those games at that point.

There was Shenmue 1 or 2,but its very underrated.
GameCube barely had any software outside of Nintendo published games
+Redfield Legacy dont forget Jade Empire
GameCube =nintendo=win. Jk, ps2 is the best selling game console ever with a huge amount of games, great controller, great graphics and great games. But I'll still be Nintendo.
Sugar the Cat lol ps2 is one of the best classics in alot of people's opinion
Sugar the Cat Your grammar is trash. PS2 is the best selling console of all time and the winner of the 6th generation.
lightningalex2 i still can't choose between ps2 or gamecube
XTREME JJ I had both. My PS2 broke after 10 years. I got rid of my GameCube when i got the Wii, but i kept the memory cards, the games and the controller. But i do prefer the PS2 over the GameCube, both had great exclusives, but the PS2 had better third party support and i could use it for my dvds and cds.
lightningalex2 i did the same but kept my ps2 games and got new system for it
not watched this yet but ps2 was by far the best
Someone obviously has never had an original GameCube or Xbox. I've been fortunate enough to have all 3, with crash bandicoot on the ps2, Smash bros Marlee on the GameCube, and Halo Combat evolved on the Xbox. They were all great. Not time to be a stupid little fanboy.
My brother actually had the orgibal xbox and a friend had a game cube but I think the ps2 had farrier better games
And crash was probably one of the ps2 weaker titles it never really improved from the ps1 version (infact I would say crash3 was better than the ps2 version)
Xbox had halo and........er halo
And Nintendo was always the best when it came to multilayer games
+Daniel Critchley omg don't be a fucking fanboy jeez. I literally came in here with nice things to say and of course the fanboy has to shove shit down my throat like wtf
+The Champ I'm not a fan boy. infact I play xbox 1 now. but I honest think the ps2 was by far the best in that generation
nes was best in that generation
snes was best in that generation
ps1
ps2
hard to call after that
PC master race
I had all 3. They were unique in their own way. Second best generation next to the SNES/SEGA/T16 generation.
GameCube is excluded for not having extra features? just because you have to buy stuff means nothing.
1. The pricing, concidering its power was amazing
2. It did have online, but for specific games
3. Some of the best exclusives ever.
This is one of the few gaming generation were the 4 consoles were great :0

true
It's pretty unfair that they have some rounds that the gamecube can't even compete in like online, idk maybe it's just me being a fanboy but I say that is unfair
Yeah I thought that too
Alex Christie it was a big new feature of the time though and defiantly helped some of them sell the consoles.
ikr nintendo rules
They forgot initial price point. GameCube wins on that by a landslide
Alex Christie nope totally fair. you just gotta give credit where credit is due. Xbox live was revolutionary for gaming
Best library: PS2
Best exclusives: GameCube
Best performance: Xbox
Most underrated: Xbox
Best overall console: PS2
Dreamcast should have been included here
Dreamcast lasted for a year.
Three years and it was the first of the sixth gen. Also it had some awesome games, internet and probably the best fan base of all consoles
I was thinking of NA and EU which were a bit over a year, but you are right about JP which the DreamCast lasted for bit over 2 years (3 not counting months). Sega made a lot of screw ups before the 6th gen. Those screw ups hurt the DreamCast and eventually led to its early death. RIP
Kevin, the dreamcast is the only console of the 6th gen that still has online servers and still gets new games. Far from dead.
***** so the original xbox died sometime before the year 2010? also, the dreamcast community is still the largest online community of the 6th generation.
3. Xbox
2. GameCube
1. PS2 slim

The dreamcast has the best library of games out of the whole 6th gen. I own them all and i always keep the dreamcast plugged in.
***** if you didnt care you would not have said anything.
Thanks for being with me guys
***** "Sonic was the only really popular one anyway, just like the rest of SEGA's consoles"
the only reason you say that is because you know nearly nothing about SEGA consoles other than their flagship franchise. it would be like me saying *"oh Nintendo had nothing but Mario."* if i knew little to nothing about Nintendo consoles. and if *"But I said I didn't care about Dreamcast enough to know about its good games"* is true then you are by no means qualified to say *"Sonic was the only really popular one anyway, just like the rest of SEGA's consoles"* because you admit that you dont know what you are talking about.
the fact of the matter is that SEGA had many popular franchises and one offs over the years and you writing them off as not existing or not mattering is the same as somebody else writing off *Metroid, the legend of zelda, donkey kong, star-fox, fire emblem, and kirby* as not existing or not mattering. because they had not heard of them, because they are ignorant of Nintendo.
dont talk smack about something if you are ignorant about it. it makes you look childish.
Dreamcast is #1!!
Dreamcast REVOLUTIONIZED sports games with the 2k series. Baseball, basketball and football took sports to a new level

Yah but it was separate
I still have my ps2 jak and daxter ratchet and clank sly cooper
lord jedah old dayes
Same
@Wesley Torna yep i got that too just beat the game as briggs
Sly Cooper is the best
@@juanitagardenhire8779 its the greatest childhood game in my opinion
Sony will always be #1 in the consoles world.
agree
+Bill Gates talk about current Gen....
+Maser209 Depends on the generation and the audience.
Currently, this is the worst generation with the fewest decent games.
True dat
Sony simply doesn't take L's in the console wars
I personally feel all three systems were so amazingly fun and I'm a xbox guy
Im an Xbox fan to! Its a great consle!
I'm a ps2. Had a gamecube and played Xbox. The ps2 controller is my favorite. But Xbox controller is better than gamecube. Also the original ps1 controller had no joysticks.
I can never decide which console was better to me personally due to how good that generation was. For me, it went like this:
PS2 i had the most games for, with Xbox and Gamecube having similar amounts of games (around 15-20). Games that gave me the most enjoyment though were the following:
007 Everything or Nothing (PS2)
007 Nightfire (PS2)
Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (PS2)
GTA San Andreas (PS2)
MGS2 (PS2)
MGS3/MGO (PS2)
Ratchet and Clank Trilogy (PS2)
Resident Evil Outbreak 2 (PS2)
Spider Man 2 (PS2)
Tony Hawks Underground 1+2 (PS2)
Zone of the Enders (PS2)
Mario Kart Double Dash (GC)
Metroid Prime 1+2 (GC)
MGS1 TTS (GC)
Resident Evil Remake (GC)
Resident Evil 4 (GC, originally exclusive)
Sonic Adventure 1+2 (GC)
Super Smash Bros Melee (GC)
Super Mario Sunshine (GC)
TLOZ WW (GC)
Halo CE (Xbox)
Halo 2 (Xbox)
Burnout Revenge (Xbox)
Conker Live & Reloaded (Xbox)
Star Wars Battlefront 1+2 (Xbox)
Ghost Recon 2 + Summit Strike (Xbox)
Splinter Cell trilogy (Xbox)
I can't decide.
For actual hardware though:
PS2 - DVD support was huge back then, optional online multiplayer, Backwards compatible, expansion bay.
Gamecube - Miniature discs (should have used DVD's), 4 controller ports, Gamecube player and connectivity with GBA, 2nd most powerful console.
Xbox - DVD support but required remote, unified and best online service of the generation, most powerful console, 4 controller ports, hard drive for dlc and game saves
On paper, the PS2 is the weakest from a gaming perspective but offered the most complete feature set out of the box.
Still many great games from that generation that I need to catch up on.
in what way was the dreamcast not "online multiplayer done right"?
halo3odst The Dreamcast was unfortunately too far ahead of it's time.
TheMadPolarBear
Xbox has GTA SA and Spiderman 2 dumbass
NightmareFAKER just investigate something dumbass

agreed.
It would have been epic if it did end as a tie. Maybe they're not competitors..... but servers of the buffet known as.... gaming.
my favorite generation of games and standout ones on each.

Oh come on, the GameCube and PlayStation easily beats the shitbox
😄😄😄😄😄LMFAO!!!!
nope
When it comes multiplats, the xbox was the choice over my ps2 and gamecube.
WHICH ONE IS STILL USED RIGHT NOW?? THE GAMECUBE!!
