THE MISC SF gemini was based off the original starfarer, while it is similar in the hull design it received a modification from aegis dynamics, to suit the needs for UEE military operations
this includes heavy armor, an included missile pod in the nose, but less cargo, lower speeds, reduced maneuverability and less refuel capabilities compared to the original starfarer.

I think it will start on the 23rd and continue through the week.

The irony is the power was on, the lightning in the engineering deck is very poor.
Hopefully when the starfarer gets the love it needs it will also get a lighting pass.

I have to admit though I liked flying the brick. When I was flying it regularly I didn’t find the visibility that bad. I also found it was surprisingly easy to land. Of course the preferred a steady approach rather than a full burn and effort to land in seconds.
@@algared6131 The way it was when I last flew one, you could simply throw it at the ground and cut the engines. Hovermode would have made it a lot trickier.
Anachroschism hover mode wasn’t something that bothered me. I rather liked it.
@@algared6131 Same. A bit twitchy, could have been tweaked, but I liked it. However, I didn't do any mining, so I can understand miners not liking it. Those ships needed a specific thruster setup.
Nice breakdown & transitions. This ship is prolly the most confusing one to navigate. The savvy org will have a solid plan to deal with pirates who won't know the layout as well.

After learning of your background from the Captain's Table, I was looking forward to this kind of video. Cool to see other people who have an aviation career heavily involved in Star Citizen.
I think I am going to pick one of these up in the spring. I am thinking this can be my hauler for refined mining until CIG figures out refueling.
Also it would be super cool if they made a variant that dropped the tanks and replaced it with a tractor beam or some kind of grappling arm that could carry vehicles in the underbelly of the ship

Are there any advantages that the base starfarer has over the gemini aside from the higher scu cargo capacity?
Does the Starfarer Gemini come with both the missle pod and nose fuel scoop? I heard it is supposed to come with both...
I heard you mention lockers but did not say anything about weapons racks. Are there any?
I didnt see any weapon racks but this could change with the rework
@@Seerthe6th They should at least put some in the cargo bay on the Gemini since it is a military vessel.

No racks. All ships will have some type of weapon stortage when they are actually done. Nothing to worry about o7
I noticed you use size 3 at the back and size 5 on top.
But can you not put size 5 at the back and size 6 on top?
Also the missiles are size 3 but can they not be upgraded to size 6?

Does it really have less cargo? Ship matrix kinda says it has the same amount.
After flying both I wish the Reclaimer had even half the flames the Gemini has when taking off. The starry's just seem heavier based on the thrust alone.
They need to upgrade the internal lighting. And can it fit an Argo?

The back door is indeed too small for an Argo even with the landing gear up. Part of the problem is also the ramp and the equipment overhead which also makes the approach awkward. I found the Argo just clipped either the decking of the ramp or the top of the doo frame.

"Question" can you use the carry all cargo box that comes with the F7C-Hornet and used it on the Super Hornet variant?

The basis for the Starfarer is quite good. Yes it really needs an update but it doesnt need a complete rework or something close to it. Only a few tweaks and updates from CiG could bring this ship back up to par. One avantage tho. If you own this ship the layout and all the corridors aren't that bad. However everyone else that gets on board will get lost for sure :) Personally i would go for the regular version unless you really plan on using it for combat support and even then we still have to wait and see how effective the added armor will be. But why i think regular Starfarer? Get the most performance (money) out of using it. Just use minimum crew and just have an escort fighter with you all the time. Always. By making the most money this could pay for the added escort fighter. Even with added armor this thing is a brick and most likely can't defend itself alone. Just have a list of experienced fighter players in your contacts lists ready when you go out.
Yep i agree, she is good but the regular SF is just as good.

Few things i dislike on it, VERY heavy and yeah, very hard to not outpass objective. I don't understand why because is supposed to have better engine on this version.
The interior need a rework.
And the last point: missiles size. S3 is ridiculous for this ship.
One quick tip. Next time, before you start the video, turn the POWER on so the rooms are lit. That would help immensely.

@@Seerthe6th That sucks because the SF's interior looks decent when lit. I honestly couldn't get through half the video because the "lighting bug" ruined it for me.

Why would you put forward mounted weapons on a fuel ship? Can anyone here imagine a fuel ship charging into trouble?
Probably for the pilot to defend the ship, yea the ship can not turn to save its life but at least it give it a fighting chance.
You do realize there are 3 turrets that can shoot rearward...right? Two from below and 1 HUGE turret from above. Name another ship with that much rearward firepower. I think they got it covered.

The interior is awful, looks like a FPS level from an old DOS game, but the ship itself is great. Strong, versatile and tough.
She really needs a rework, it is very confusing trying to navigate her sometimes, but it still is a good ship

Great video, too bad CR dumped its ability to create its own fuel, this to me was the game-breaker. All the Stainless steel decoration on the inside? Who thought that was a good idea? Love the exterior color. Thanks Again.
Yea the exterior needs a lot of help, and im not happy about the "nerf" but I'll still use it with AI
usually love your videos, but the quality of the colouring of this video was dreadful. would you do ship reviews that show component sizes/types
The ship is a bit shit, awful interior, and now they say it can not do Quantum Fuel and every ship can generate its own standard fuel , ie the ship is redundant.
Seems a little overpowered and equiped for a $340 ship, though I am comparing it to a constellation phoniex as it is nearly the same price
Its lack of speed is going to be a major flaw when outnumbered. If anything it needs a tad more guns in the back.
