Congratulations on your Space Marshal Concierge membership. Welcome to the solid gold spacesuit club. That means if CIG decides to release a Star Marine Orbital Assault capital ship you are likely going to be the first one to snap one up.
Just the advice I needed. Components between Freelancer variants differ slightly, but their placement, size and numbers are the same . Your selection of upgrades for components are exactly the same as mine, but with weapons I took a different path. I am still experimenting with guns+missiles ,but I think you are right that engaging at distance is paramount. Close-in fights are not going to work.

Great vid. Brief constructive criticism moment: It would be great if you could slow down inside very busy 'busy' sections of a ship and take some time to ease through slowly / pan slowly so that those who don't have this ship (or variant) can digest the layout. Your rundown of the crew compartment behind the cockpit came across as slightly rushed - a bullet list of the content without much look at the content. Definitely looking forward to the day you walk through the Carrack! :D
One thing to look out for with the Freelancer in this patch is, changing components. I changed the shield generators and they wore totally lost. (This was the DUR)
First time viewer and I enjoyed your overview of the ship. You did however neglect to go into detail on the aft turret. I don't know if the base freelancer model has disruptors or not but new players looking to fly a ship with a friend might be interested it to know and understand the performance of a vital multi-crew combat position.
I do apologize, the turret has two laser cannons on the back, i rather use repeaters over the cannons, especially with the lag pips that you still can not switch to a lead pip.
@@Seerthe6th Repeaters do tend to be favorable on the manned turrets for sure. The Warden's ballistic repeaters do ok save for ammo consumption for instance. I'd love to keep cannons on the Gemini top turret however just for sheer size.
Seer, I am having difficulty when melting ships, and removing components before I melt. When I buy a new ship those components are not available whether I just remove them before the melt, and if I exchange them with another component before the melt. What is the proper process to be able to keep components that I have upgraded in game? Is there a guide that actually describes a working process?
As a new player there is one thing I never found an answer to and that is the difference between turret hardpoints and normal gun hardpoints. I'm obviously not talking about man manned turrets, but the ones the pilot uses. For me as a new player they seem interchangeable, but I heard from players that turret mounts are better in some way, but I couldn't find anything about that.
i personally love the freelancer but they shoiuld add 2 small gunz on main nose for pilot and add turret control for the extra seats for the 2 side mounted gunz
i still have a F7C Hornet from when i pre-purchased the Freelancer DUR. now that the DUR is flight ready, i thought theyd take the Hornet away, but its still there.
Not necessarily, military isnt always the best, looking at stats on hardpoint.io some things can be better, it also depends on the situation too, but thank you!

I think the real issue holding the Freelancer back is the strange insistence on keeping it a 4-crew ship. There's just not enough for 4 people to do here, it doesn't make sense. Because of the adherence to 4 crew members, we have 4 seats on the flight deck which struggle to find purpose, we have 4 bunks which take up way too much space, and nowhere near enough space within the ship for 3-4 people to be walking around. If the crew complement were to be taken down to even 3, we could move the pilot seat to the middle and push it further forward which would improve visibility significantly without compromising the design of the canopy. We could get rid of one bunk, leaving room for lockers for weapons/armor/whiskey. So many issues would be resolved by that simple and obvious change. For real, there is no reason to insist that the Freelancer remain a 4-man ship when something the size and scope of the Carrack is a 5-6 man ship.
My Freelancer loadout will look something like this. Brawler's Build. Weapons: (ballistic scatterguns) Fusilage guns - Predator x 4 (4852dps/3640alpha), Turret - Hellion x 2 (1800dps/1080alpha); Missiles: (electromagnetic) Wings - MSD-481 x 2 + Spark I x 8 + 8 and MSD-341 x 2 + Spark I x 4 + 4 (70176dmg/24missiles). Power: Genoa (97594pwr/s); Shields: Rampart x 2 (64170hp with 346hp/s regen); Coolers: Snowpack x 2 (889k/s of 176000); QT: XL1 (260701km/s with PO to Micro in 4:18). Total price: 620,000 aUEC. ALL items may be purchased from vendors at PO and A-51. This loadout will be transfered to the Freelancer MAX when I buy it from the PledgeStore. The build can be simulated at www.erkul.games/calculator.
Many thanks for providing the purchase locations of the components (this is a great help). Also, do know if the Snowfall or Snowpack coolers are available in game? hardpoint.io lists these size 2 coolers as the best.
I like the Freelancer but it just doesn't have the cool factor for me . On paper the Freelancer is great for the money. However, I'm a sucker for that grimy ass Cutty. Great vid, been missing a Avionics Tech guide.
Unfortunately, most Cutlass ships I run across in my Freelancer do not last more the 1.5 minutes. I run 6 all size 3 missiles on my Freelancer DUR along w/ 4 size 3 Mantis Gatling guns. The freelancer has bigger guns, more missiles and two shield generators as opposed to the Cutlass single shield generator and smaller weapons package. The larger fuel tanks go a long way when it comes to running cargo as well. Cuttie looks better, handles better, carries more cargo (with exception of the Max) and is faster, but none of that does you any good if you are in tiny pieces because you can't last more the 90 seconds against my Freelancer lol.
@@tubewatcher5012 For sure the Freelancer is a better ship in 8 out of ten factors and for only $10 more it is a better deal. Off hand the only advantage the Cutlass has over the Freelancer is more ability to transport vehicles. The jumpseats and tractor beam will matter in the future as well.
