Bands these days take 8 years to release two albums and a world tour. When you think about what the accomplished from the end of 1962 till the late summer of 1969 you simply cannot deny The Beatles were a very special band of people. Even if you claim to not like them you WILL (at the very least) like 1 of their songs. Whether you know its their song, its a cover of one of their song or its been in your fav movie/TV show. Considering what the music industry requires from artists today. Radio stations pay to play their music and artists get money from being living advertisements. They aren't flexible and instead of taking advantage of today's technology, they fight against it. Melanie Martinez makes a music video for each of her songs and Chance the Rapper was the first to win 3 Grammy's without ever selling physical copies of his music. Plus, you have 20 writers for one song. The circumstances are different today, so it's kinda hard to compare.
I’m a huge Beatle fan and this isn’t to diminish their work, but had an advantage when they stopped touring as they didn’t have to tour after a release. They had way more time in the studio than any other band and could afford the studio time.
Here in México we have a radio program called "El club de los Beatles", it lasts 1 hour, 2 times a day mon-fri, it means 10 hour per week a radio station transmites beatles' music
I was raised with the Beatles. My parents even played them when I was in the womb. I can't imagine what my life would be like without knowing their music. I went to see Paul McCartney in 2016 and I know my life was forever changed by that experience, no matter how far back in the nosebleeds I was. I get emotional even thinking of that concert, and I haven't been able to listen to Hey Jude without crying since that night. The whole band was one of a kind and I don't think we've seen anything like it since. I'm definitely gonna be playing the Beatles when my future children are in the womb.
Well all's I know is I liked them from the get go. I'm still fascinated by them and I never tire of them . I couldn't pick a favourite Beatles tune as each moment in time that they put out a recording fascinated me and they are all great. Hey Bulldog seems to have come alive more recently but i liked it when I first heard it. Top 10 picks here are great but I couldn't make those choices. It was surprising though as It sort of covered their recording career as a band. The only recording they made that I dislike is Revolution # 9 from the White Album. Because of the Beatles I listen to other music as well. Could I pick a favourite Beatle, sure there is only one choice - all four. Imagine that!
Or some just like a different genre. I mean, my friend is a metal fan, even though, he isn't a fan of the Beatles, he knows what The Beatles contributed to music history.
The beatles are probably the most versatile band of all time, they made pop, rock, blues rock, Folk rock, psychedelic rock, raga rock, art rock, avant-garde, hard rock. I mean can you name a band that constantly changed their sound and still kept their fans lol
To be honest, I absolutely love the band and got addicted to their songs for a period of time, and I think every song from them are one the best classics. From Please Please Me to Let It Be, those 8 years' music industry are ruled by The Beatles. Because of that, in my opinion, there was, is and will not be any artists that can achieve as much as The Beatles.
askabourgo is right that "Helter Skelter" IS often credited as the 1st Metal Song! That song is also a Proto-Metal Song, because it was 1 of the heaviest songs that was out at the time before Metal existed.
Proto-metal perhaps, inspired early-metal certainly but definitely not-metal. I'd give the title to Deep Purple's ''Bloodsucker'' as the first (almost) metal song - but that's my personal opinion.
@@kellerwyant1704 Everybody knows that John was the leader... During the studio years, Paul's influence on the band grew up, along with John's progressive desengagement...

The Beatles will always be the best, no competition, no matter what group comes in the future. Everything that you read that says something positive about the Beatles music is true and more! They are like no other.
The Beatles are really the only band I can think of that I've liked my whole life and never tired of. Actually I might appreciate them more now then when I was a kid but I can't even be 100% positive of that because I've always loved them so much.

I’m going to be honest here. The Beatles have shaped my life and is the band that I could sing to when I was having a bad day. I wasn’t born in the time of the Beatles yet they still have such a big affect. I think it’s safe to say for many, The Beatles have been big piece in a lot of people’s lives.
One of their greatest IMO always makes an old git like me (55) think of past memories and departed friends family and lovers exactly as it says John Lennon was a genius, they all were
Hey Jude literally had me in tears when I saw Paul in concert. The "na na na naa" part was the only think I've ever wanted to participate in. My favorite post-Beatle song is "Band on the Run."

Marcus man this is sooo hard to do, but your list caught my eye because I think I exactly agree with your top 5 and in that order! Your inclusion of Dear Prudence really caught my eye because the song has a captivating effect on me and it is overlooked by almost everyone.
I'm amazed in all of the posted comments for nominations to The List, not one mention of "Back In The U.S.S.R." "A Little Help From My Friends" is also one of their greatest compositions and real genius to have Ringo sing it.

1) While My Guitar Gently Weeps 2) A Day in the Life 3) Hey Jude 4) Let It Be 5) Golden Slumbers 6) Nowhere Man 7) All My Loving 8) Come Together 9) Strawberry Fields Forever 10) Penny Lane
Golden slumbers is not a Beatles song. Its a traditional lullaby from way back. Their version of it is the best though. Can't disagree with the rest of your list. Then again... Eleanor Rigby.
Not gonna lie, I still think Revolver is slightly better than Sgt. Pepper’s and should be considered the greatest album of all time even though A Day In the Life still gives me chills ever time I listen to it
DarthAlex Even I don’t find Sgt. Peppers to be as great as other Beatles albums.. It must’ve ground breaking during the late 60s but I honestly think the whole album hasn’t aged that well compared to say Revolver and Rubber Soul. A Day in the Life is one of my all time favourite beatles track, but I don’t think the album makes even to my top 5 beatles albums..
marcello peres Revolver doesn’t come close to the white album or abbey road being honest, sure it’s a good album but not as good as anticipated. Besides, the White Album skyrocketed Metal, Abbey Road had a medley, a hard rock song, a ballad, and just a beautifully crafted album. Super influential tracks on both albums
I know it's difficult to pick the top ten Beatles songs but I think they did a pretty decent job. Although I do think you could've had a better honorable mentions list.

I love the Beatles but not everyone has to like their music. That's not how music should be. Their success and influence cannot be denied, however.
The beatles are probably the most versatile band of all time, they made pop, rock, blues rock, Folk rock, psychedelic rock, raga rock, art rock, avant-garde, hard rock. I mean can you name a band that constantly changed their sound and still kept their fans lol
Ricardo Marques they also did proto Metal! Talk about versatility especially compared to today

Queen changed their sound heaps and kept their fans but I can see where you come from. Both brilliant bands that can never be replaced.

I went to see "yesterday" yesterday and now I need more Beatles songs.
Seeing a John Lennon who was not murdered was moving.
Helter Skelter - Often credited as the first Metal Song!!
askabourgo is right that "Helter
Skelter" IS often credited as the
1st Metal Song! That song is
also a Proto-Metal Song, because
it was 1 of the heaviest songs
that was out at the time before
Metal existed.
Proto-metal perhaps, inspired early-metal certainly but definitely not-metal. I'd give the title to Deep Purple's ''Bloodsucker'' as the first (almost) metal song - but that's my personal opinion.
Three perfect voices in one band equals a perfect lead singer and harmonies
Who's the lead then?
@@kellerwyant1704 Everybody knows that John was the leader... During the studio years, Paul's influence on the band grew up, along with John's progressive desengagement...
@@kellerwyant1704 he was saying each song had a lead and the other 2 would harmonize since the 3 of them were all amazing vocalists. John was the leader though

My personal favorite is "Shes leaving home"; great lyrics, instrumental and based on a real story. Blackbird is number two and "I love her" is number three.
How come no one talks about their song "tomorrow never knows"?? It never even makes top 10 lists and the song is pure genius, honestly that song is dance music before dance music, really ahead of it's time lol
It’s a brilliant studio production and atmospheric Closer to revolver but as an actual song, it falls flat
I mean dance music is hundreds of years old so not really a good phrase to use
GregtheSalad I mean electronic music, dubstep, drum and bass etc wouldn't exist without that song, a lot of electronic artists give that song credit
Not my piece of pie
Mr xo I agree...Ringo’s drum rhythm is so brilliant...Its probably the only stand out track from Lennon in Revolver..

The Beatles are one of the most important and influential bands of all time, and no matter their struggles, they still managed to sell millions of albums and songs to cherish forever! I love them so much!
Best song post Beatles is anything written by George Harrison such as “I got my mind set on you” what is life” and “my sweet lord”

I agree
IMO if the Beatles had used Rubber Soul and Revolver to make 1 double album that would have been their greatest album ever.
