Zaphinine The problem with teambuilder is you find that support after 5-10 mins of waiting. Now try to find that guy that chose support in diamond 1? And yes now you find one. Now you gotta wait for the other team to find that support main. It will take atleast a hour.
Zaphinine let me clarify the process in my own words for a second. 10 people (5 from each team) queue up normally and then each person selects the role they want and then the game randomly decides who picks first and all that and you go from there correct? the problem with that is that it is simply an extra 30 seconds-1 minute tacked onto the current process. the only other way i read it is basically you want them to bring team builder to ranked and then once you've been matched up with the proper meta roles you go through pick order for bans and champ select for the role you've already established. pretty sure the second one was what you meant. in any case only issue with it is that it would take a fuck ton of time to do as ranked draft already does and someone might want to change their role based on bans or previous picks but can't cus they already called the role.

Honestly it's for the best that it's not for ranked games. If it was, before you know it there would be a couple dozen players in plat or diamond who can only play well a single champion on a single role.

Draft isn't that bad honestly. There are benefits too being in any placement ( 1-5 select i mean) and they go in this order 1. You get first pick, and best chance at your role 2. Same as 1 but not as prevelent 3. Balanced between 1 and 5 4. closer too 5 but not last pick 5. You have the best chances of knowing your lane opponent and coutering
JakersDFS I think a bigger problem is people googling the counters and blindly picking them without actually knowing how to play the champion or why they counter a different champion.

If you can at the very least do any role without feeding or endangering your team then that is good enough. Have a main or 2 but be prepared for plan B.(it will happen loads of times)
welkijken well, yeah, when i play jung i believe that most of the times i can help and carry the lanes and when i play adc (since i play late game carries like vayne and tristana) i can guarantee taht i can hold my lane (if not win it) and carry mid/late game...but when i play mid, even though i've won it many times i can't guarantee it and when i play top i ll probably end up on the toweer asking for help but at the very least, i know not to feed.
problem with team builder is that no one wants to play support and few people want to play jg so unless you have a full premade/can cover the undesirable roles you're gonna be waiting an extra 2-3 minutes at least for that last person and by then someone's gotten up to get a drink or take a shit and you have to wait for them to come back.

I went Ryze support on a ranked game and won :) Even though I was first pick, and I wanted to go mid, but some guy took Karthus and started spamming "ME MID! NOOBS ME GO MID! ME BEST MID!" So I just gave up with talking to the wall and had to go support. P.S. That guy went afk after 5 minutes and I was completely useless with my support runes and masteries and wasted money on items.

First picks should pick a champ that's not so easily countered. Like Fiora, Leblanc, or Veigar. If they want ADC, then fucking pick Tristana idgaf. If you pick a champ that's easily countered, like Miss Fortune for example, be prepared to get placed in cardboard 5.
Me too. I had a friend who I was playing a ranked game (Preliminaries) with and he was Jax playing against Nasus. Suddenly, he's all buddy buddy with Nasus and he let Nasus farm. We won the game but Nasus had over 400 q stacks by 30 minutes because my friend let him farm even though I told him not to and that he shouldn't be friendly with the enemy.

Pick order is my primary problem with draft pick. Like you said. People get stuck in roles they aren't comfortable with and are expected to be a pro at it. That is hella unfair. What's worse os that its just about the obly way to do ranked. Where everyone should be on their game. If someone says "anything but support." The team should listen. Its a team game. And having a weak link because you felt like being an ass is not cool. Especially when you want to win and you have no problem blaming said weak link after you forced him/her to do such
To be honest, in higher elo, people can do any role so when it comes to pick order, first and second pick will be a strong op support/op champ in general or a tank. and the last two will be our main carries because they can counter pick the enemy team as well as choose based off synergy with their team. Of course this was how it was a long time ago. Not many are that smart anymore.
I completely agree that once you get to higher elo, there is a completely different mentality and style to everything. But when youre in the lower stuff. Or when youre trying to build up. Most truthful thing here is being put with duo's. BUT THE WORST THING EVER IS BEING PUT WITH A PARTY OF 4. Our Riven gave off first blood for being like: "Oh it's just gang plank he can't kill me I'm riven" I put in the chat: "..." After that I or verbally abused by ALL 4 OF THEM THE ENTIRE GAME and they reported me at the end for get this....VERBAL ABUSE!!!! But I never got banned because I never responded to what they said so I didn't get banned. Funny cause I carried the game to. Like people on this game are fucking terrible human beings.
Riot should just put a kick button in champion select, so that when you know you're getting a toxic player on your team, you can start a vote and if 3 people say yes, he gets kicked and suffers the dodge penalty. Get kicked too many times and the LoL community will clear up really fast.
Actually, draft mode used to put the player with the highest MMR to captain position and it was working like that, when this video was made. It was changed though, now it's totally random.

SmokeyxSx I play League of Legends since it almost came out, like end Season 1 and I'm Silver II :| But I didn't use to play competitive, I only joined ranked end Season 3, I became Silver but I had to stop play, so I dropped Bronze before season ended. Season 4 and Silver II, can't get out of this shit, noobs everywhere, IDGAF
the other thing about duo queues, especially bot duos, is that they sometimes don't know when to not go help their friends and they start doing dumb shit like following the adc to dragon 2 seconds after they get killed outside the pit. Because they're together they don't understand that sometimes you just gotta go "Yeah no thanks" and then run like hell.
I have tinkered with different chats and with my experience I keep going back to skype with my friends. Its all just personal preference anyway. I wish I liked Curse voice though but if keeps producing programs that slow down your computer. Such a good idea. maybe they will fix the issue. it is in beta after all.
Alex Carr As have I, and my friends and I really enjoy Skype and Razer Comms. We Skype most of the time, but once everyone downloads Razer Comms we plan to switch over, as it gives the user a lot more freedom on how loud someone is, and no one has to call a group, just join when you want to.
I love being a support main because nobody takes my role. I hate being a support main because some people have never played support before and don't know how many wards can be active at once. I have a sightstone, not the enemies map. I also hate being a support main because I might be the only person in my party who knows what a turret is, and if I say "we should try pushing lanes" everyone says "wards do no damage stfu". And then there's the adc who dives behind enemy minions and three champs, goes 0/10, and everyone assumes I fed too...
Ranked needs some shit like team builder, but with roles only. So you still can counter pick and ban, but all players in your team main (or at least expect to play) a role. Even thou it would negatively affect time you spend on searching a game.
Actually I prefer Draft Mode soooo much more, I don't like about Blind Pick that: 1. Everybody just instalocks, sometimes not even saying a role 2. I played 1 Normal when Rankeds were down and 2 guys on my Team were total Dîckheads while we were winning, this happened more often when I "had to" play Normals (I only play Normal with Friends now, except for Aram) 3. and this is the WORST, if you are playing Darius or something like Hecarim, a really popular Champion right now, theres a big Chance of the Enemy having the same Champion and then you pretty much HAVE TO do better than the Guy with "your" Champion... I hate this so much.
DoubleVision I like Draft over Blind Pick because I'm almost 100% sure that my team is going to have a meta composition, even at below lvl 30 accounts. And I hate it when you pick your champion in Blind Pick and then you see that you're going to face his/her direct counter in lane.
Mozedo Yeah getting countered like that can be really painful, but the Fact that there is a (compared to other Champs) high Chance I will face another Zed if I play Zed in Blind Pick / Team Builder just kinda makes me not play these "mainstream" Champions lol. I usually only play my Mains, because if I will face a "my Champ-Player" I will mostlikely own him so bad that he will think twice before picking "my" Champion again! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
At lower summoner levels it's relatively easy to predict what the enemy team will play using the free rotation. Let's say I play support and the free supports that week are Janna and Morgana, Leona would be the least desirable champion to play that week since there's a high chance you'll face a counter in laning phase.
Here is the issue with only relying on call order. Scenario: load into ranked draft and we begin to communicate our roles 1"I can adc or mid" 2"i can top lane or support" 3"im good support u go top" me"im good jungle and top but i cant adc" 5 (completely silent entire ban sequence) so off this info we decide that 1 will mid, 2 will top, 3 will supp, and I will jungle leaving 5 to adc. Heres what happens during picks 5 picks jungle because he has the pick right before me and proclaims that he has the right to jungle because of pick order despite me telling him I can't adc. He procedes to insult me for not being able to play every role and says report if I don't adc. So I do what happens when I get stuck with adc. I pick ziggs apc bot and play to the best of my extent while he rages because I didn't pick a role I would feed at. If you are silent throughout the select sequence and you steal somebodies role that they were going to play then you are a piece of shit and deserve to get reported for lack of communication. Communication during champ select is important to determining what role will be best for who and what your team's comp will be. tl;dr If you are gonna be silent during select don't take somebodies role just because you pick before them. You will only have yourself t blame when they end up feeding in a role they can't play well.
because some playstyles don't mix well with other roles or some people dont find it enjoyable. The point is that players force the last pick into a role they can't play well and get mad and toxic when they don't do well. The only person to blame is the team for not listening. You may think that pick order is the law of the land but you only have yourself to blame for that loss.
Brendan Harward When faced with a weak lane of yours, it's better to play a champ you know than trying to pick into the meta or fotm. I assume you're pretty comfortable with ziggs to go bot with him, but unfortunately many people aren't gonna be prepared for that, and that's just something you're gonna have to deal with until people become a touch more tolerant :/

I am silver V. I duo queue a lot with my brother or just a friend (most of the time better than both me and my opponents). If I lose they can guide me through and I make a comeback. If I play with someone else it's also just nice to know there is at least one lane you can fully trust. I played five games with him or so and won them all even with bad teams. Just the two of us could carry although we could not do very much singlehandedly. After duo queeing we both played a game of soloqueue and we both lost so bad. We had flaming teams, bad scores etc. So it's not entirely true he's carrying me because one needs the other to win. Even though i still have a feeling my wins are mostly because of him.
Daniël Boucherie In a team full of five people, two is a much bigger difference than 1. Just mathematically speaking. 1v5 pentakills are extremely rare, but it's not inconceivable for two people to make plays and get a double-pentakill together. Especially bot laners. However, not all duo que players are like you. Some of them are just garbage, and they will collectively flame the other team members for their own failures, especially junglers. Being a jungle main is like signing up for verbal abuse.
Josh Fredette Dem feels, every jungler in our games got his feet burned by the other teammates as well. We can be garbage too though but I dont feel like I have the right to say anything about the rest of the team if i get destroyed. The two of us just hate flamers and mostly defend the attacked though which helps them out a lot. Power of three is more than two ^^
ChickensEatYou I would literally become a support main if League of Legends wasn't so reliant on solo lanes. So I get put off playing support and try to get in a position where I can actually make an impact on it regardless if my mid/jgler/bot lane do average.
supporting is almost never fun, UNLESS YOU MAKE IT! Find a champion that you're good at, one that you like, and if they have some cc and wont make completely impossible for the adc to last hit, play them support. Back when i was an elise main every time I had to play support I just went elise, and we kicked ass. Granted you can't always bring your 500/600 wins rengar support, but when you really know a champion and enjoy playing them, you begin to not care if you can't go full damage on them.
im sorry but im a support main and I always duo queue. we do talk on Skype but that doesn't mean we don't communicate with the rest of the team through pings and text when necessary. we do give each other constructive criticism and neither of us grief anyone for doing poorly cause everyone has bad games and good games im really rather insulted that you think duo queue people are like the scum of the lol world. I realize youre probably going to respond like you did in your video with idgaf but its a very stereotypical view of us bot laners who don't like getting suck with a shit lane partner.
Actually in my history of over a 1000 games of ranked, it is a very accurate summation of normal duo q behavior. Just because you don't do it, does not mean the majority do not do it. In addition it often times breeds additional negativity as the duo q automatically(usually) teams up on a teammate to criticize them or calls the rest of the team troll/trash/feeder. It is definitely a problem in the NA servers for sure.

Eh. I only duo with one guy and from the start we have amazing sync. NO not just in bot lane. In TEAMFIGHTS. Without saying a word or pinging we can engage and get what we came for with perfect timing. BUT....we both are open to roles. EXAMPLE: He dominates the ADC, jungle, and mid role. I am the jack of all trades (except for ADC I can't do that shit) but I am ready to kick ass if I manage to get mid. We don't call our role, we say what we CAN do, and move on. If he gets mid and I get support, come teamfight time I know what he is capable of so I protect his ass AND my ADC. We don't attack one person if they do bad, we give them double the motivation to keep trying. Our issue lies if you are a salty motherfucker or not. EXAMPLE: If I'm top and he's jung (he doesn't gank my lane much if I'm top because I play carefully top and it usually works well) and the ADC/Support rages at their lane partner, you can bet your ass we are putting on our gas masks and cleaning out the toxicity. And motivation and assuring the abused laner we got their back. As for communication if I have access to a headset I go in as a full TEAM, not just duo. If I don't we use pings to communicate and only type when we need to or when we are shotcalling for the future. We are absolutely shit at the game, but we keep teamwork in mind and we move as one: only time we run out of a fight is when we ping DANGER 1000000 times because 3 of the fucking members of the enemy team are missing while you chase that Amumu down and that Lissandra is obviously coming towards us because I warded the jungle. (Side note: I take pride in the fact that I ward like crazy)

I'm a support main, yes we do exist and yes we are completely shocked when we find another support main in our team. I'm one of the support mains who prefers to roll with a duo as I find the game more fun and it's one fewer person I need to worry about not knowing their role (also, both of my partners are top mains and top is by far my worst role). We call each other out on misplays, ping the team, talk to them when we need something said (but we keep the flaming in skype :P), and so forth. Now, one of my partners likes going duo bot with me, because we have synergy. We don't get pissy in chat if someone nabs ADC, and while I'm confused when this happens, I work with it when someone takes support from me. We don't feel obligated to the role, but we DO request that we go bot together, as it is difficult as a support to read the ADC for the first about 10 minutes after you meet the bloke. Also, I don't know who they're going to play, if they're competent with their pick, etc. This makes my job SUPER hard, because I have to try to make my Sona pick work with ADCs who prefer an all-in engage, or my Leona pick work with a super anti-engage ADC? I'm not saying anything against this video, it gives solid points, all I'm saying is to be willing to adapt, but realize some of us have reasons to request duoing bot with our partner. Sometimes it's just nicer for all parties involved.
I see. But well, it was ages ago when they stated MMR will not affect the position in the ranked queue. Also, it was a common occurance that IF one premade is firstpick, the other almost always was put secondpick. They changed that so that duo queing gives the host a higher chance to get firstpick while the secondpick is entirely random in placement. I'm also not playing LoL anymore. HoS is much better balanced and well, more fun. I only play LoL when I know friends want me to play with them at this moment. BTW, great profile picture. You don't happen to be on dA, do you?
Now this does not make a difference but it says on the league help center thing that the captain of a team in ranked is the person with the highest ELO on that team. but of course, it doesn't really matter but i just thought you should know.
Draft Pick is so stupid. I can't play top, but I can fill on other lanes, but each time I am last pick, I just have to go top. Almost each time. So I tell my team what I'm bad at top and I would love to get just a bit of a help of jungler. Guess what? My Lee Sin farming all day long, doens't give a fuck about top and then ALL team reports me cos I didn't do well. What happens next? I got banned from rankeds because of "feeding" for next 80 games. This makes me glad that I duo que with a friend honestly. However, we play opposite lanes and are open to changing where we are generally comfortable in order for teammates that are better at it.

Duo queue was the best part. When I was doing it myself with a plat 1 smurf, it was just like... whatever. I main support, they main ADC. If we couldn't get those roles, it wasn't the end of the world. But every time we got it, we won.

Being a support main I actually enjoy being last pick; I get to see both team comps flesh out and pick accordingly. What is most of our team damage? AD or AP? I pick to balance it out. What is our team comp like? Do we have enough Tanks and CC? Would certain buffs/auras be beneficial? What's our bot lane type? What's the enemy team like? Do I need more peel or to build certain resistances? Although I love banning with first pick, support first pick throws a wrench in my selection...

Zaphinine let me clarify the process in my own words for a second. 10 people (5 from each team) queue up normally and then each person selects the role they want and then the game randomly decides who picks first and all that and you go from there correct? the problem with that is that it is simply an extra 30 seconds-1 minute tacked onto the current process.
the only other way i read it is basically you want them to bring team builder to ranked and then once you've been matched up with the proper meta roles you go through pick order for bans and champ select for the role you've already established. pretty sure the second one was what you meant. in any case only issue with it is that it would take a fuck ton of time to do as ranked draft already does and someone might want to change their role based on bans or previous picks but can't cus they already called the role.

Honestly it's for the best that it's not for ranked games. If it was, before you know it there would be a couple dozen players in plat or diamond who can only play well a single champion on a single role.

What I meant is that you queue for the role ONLY, and then in the lobby you pick/ban. If you queue for a certain role then others won't take that role from you.

Draft isn't that bad honestly. There are benefits too being in any placement ( 1-5 select i mean) and they go in this order
1. You get first pick, and best chance at your role
2. Same as 1 but not as prevelent
3. Balanced between 1 and 5
4. closer too 5 but not last pick
5. You have the best chances of knowing your lane opponent and coutering

welkijken well, yeah, when i play jung i believe that most of the times i can help and carry the lanes and when i play adc (since i play late game carries like vayne and tristana) i can guarantee taht i can hold my lane (if not win it) and carry mid/late game...but when i play mid, even though i've won it many times i can't guarantee it and when i play top i ll probably end up on the toweer asking for help but at the very least, i know not to feed.
I don't see how that's a problem. They just end up straight in Bronze V and they're no longer a problem for anyone.

problem with team builder is that no one wants to play support and few people want to play jg so unless you have a full premade/can cover the undesirable roles you're gonna be waiting an extra 2-3 minutes at least for that last person and by then someone's gotten up to get a drink or take a shit and you have to wait for them to come back.

Pick order is my primary problem with draft pick. Like you said. People get stuck in roles they aren't comfortable with and are expected to be a pro at it. That is hella unfair.

To be honest, in higher elo, people can do any role so when it comes to pick order, first and second pick will be a strong op support/op champ in general or a tank. and the last two will be our main carries because they can counter pick the enemy team as well as choose based off synergy with their team. Of course this was how it was a long time ago. Not many are that smart anymore.

Actually, draft mode used to put the player with the highest MMR to captain position and it was working like that, when this video was made. It was changed though, now it's totally random.

the other thing about duo queues, especially bot duos, is that they sometimes don't know when to not go help their friends and they start doing dumb shit like following the adc to dragon 2 seconds after they get killed outside the pit. I hate being a support main because some people have never played support before and don't know how many wards can be active at once. I have a sightstone, not the enemies map.
I also hate being a support main because I might be the only person in my party who knows what a turret is, and if I say "we should try pushing lanes" everyone says "wards do no damage stfu".
And then there's the adc who dives behind enemy minions and three champs, goes 0/10, and everyone assumes I fed too...
Ranked needs some shit like team builder, but with roles only. So you still can counter pick and ban, but all players in your team main (or at least expect to play) a role. Even thou it would negatively affect time you spend on searching a game.
Actually I prefer Draft Mode soooo much more, I don't like about Blind Pick that:
1. Everybody just instalocks, sometimes not even saying a role
2. I played 1 Normal when Rankeds were down and 2 guys on my Team were total Dîckheads while we were winning, this happened more often when I "had to" play Normals (I only play Normal with Friends now, except for Aram)
3. and this is the WORST, if you are playing Darius or something like Hecarim, a really popular Champion right now, theres a big Chance of the Enemy having the same Champion and then you pretty much HAVE TO do better than the Guy with "your" Champion... I hate this so much.

And I hate it when you pick your champion in Blind Pick and then you see that you're going to face his/her direct counter in lane.
Mozedo Yeah getting countered like that can be really painful, but the Fact that there is a (compared to other Champs) high Chance I will face another Zed if I play Zed in Blind Pick / Team Builder just kinda makes me not play these "mainstream" Champions lol. I usually only play my Mains, because if I will face a "my Champ-Player" I will mostlikely own him so bad that he will think twice before picking "my" Champion again! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
At lower summoner levels it's relatively easy to predict what the enemy team will play using the free rotation. Let's say I play support and the free supports that week are Janna and Morgana, Leona would be the least desirable champion to play that week since there's a high chance you'll face a counter in laning phase.
Here is the issue with only relying on call order.
Scenario: load into ranked draft and we begin to communicate our roles
1"I can adc or mid"
2"i can top lane or support"
3"im good support u go top"
me"im good jungle and top but i cant adc"
5 (completely silent entire ban sequence)
so off this info we decide that 1 will mid, 2 will top, 3 will supp, and I will jungle leaving 5 to adc. Heres what happens during picks
5 picks jungle because he has the pick right before me and proclaims that he has the right to jungle because of pick order despite me telling him I can't adc. He procedes to insult me for not being able to play every role and says report if I don't adc. So I do what happens when I get stuck with adc. I pick ziggs apc bot and play to the best of my extent while he rages because I didn't pick a role I would feed at.
If you are silent throughout the select sequence and you steal somebodies role that they were going to play then you are a piece of shit and deserve to get reported for lack of communication. Communication during champ select is important to determining what role will be best for who and what your team's comp will be.
tl;dr
If you are gonna be silent during select don't take somebodies role just because you pick before them. You will only have yourself t blame when they end up feeding in a role they can't play well.

I am silver V. I duo queue a lot with my brother or just a friend (most of the time better than both me and my opponents). If I lose they can guide me through and I make a comeback. If I play with someone else it's also just nice to know there is at least one lane you can fully trust. I played five games with him or so and won them all even with bad teams. Just the two of us could carry although we could not do very much singlehandedly. After duo queeing we both played a game of soloqueue and we both lost so bad. We had flaming teams, bad scores etc. So it's not entirely true he's carrying me because one needs the other to win. Even though i still have a feeling my wins are mostly because of him.

Just mathematically speaking. 1v5 pentakills are extremely rare, but it's not inconceivable for two people to make plays and get a double-pentakill together. Especially bot laners. However, not all duo que players are like you. Some of them are just garbage, and they will collectively flame the other team members for their own failures, especially junglers.
Being a jungle main is like signing up for verbal abuse.

We can be garbage too though but I dont feel like I have the right to say anything about the rest of the team if i get destroyed. The two of us just hate flamers and mostly defend the attacked though which helps them out a lot. Power of three is more than two ^^

I would literally become a support main if League of Legends wasn't so reliant on solo lanes. So I get put off playing support and try to get in a position where I can actually make an impact on it regardless if my mid/jgler/bot lane do average.
I started to just fill everything, and then main support, just so I dont stress out in Champion Select, really helped me :)
supporting is almost never fun, UNLESS YOU MAKE IT! Find a champion that you're good at, one that you like, and if they have some cc and wont make completely impossible for the adc to last hit, play them support. Back when i was an elise main every time I had to play support I just went elise, and we kicked ass. Granted you can't always bring your 500/600 wins rengar support, but when you really know a champion and enjoy playing them, you begin to not care if you can't go full damage on them.

Actually in my history of over a 1000 games of ranked, it is a very accurate summation of normal duo q behavior. Just because you don't do it, does not mean the majority do not do it. In addition it often times breeds additional negativity as the duo q automatically(usually) teams up on a teammate to criticize them or calls the rest of the team troll/trash/feeder. It is definitely a problem in the NA servers for sure.

Eh. I only duo with one guy and from the start we have amazing sync. NO not just in bot lane. In TEAMFIGHTS. Without saying a word or pinging we can engage and get what we came for with perfect timing. BUT....we both are open to roles. EXAMPLE: He dominates the ADC, jungle, and mid role. I am the jack of all trades (except for ADC I can't do that shit) but I am ready to kick ass if I manage to get mid. We don't call our role, we say what we CAN do, and move on. If he gets mid and I get support, come teamfight time I know what he is capable of so I protect his ass AND my ADC. We don't attack one person if they do bad, we give them double the motivation to keep trying. Our issue lies if you are a salty motherfucker or not. EXAMPLE: If I'm top and he's jung (he doesn't gank my lane much if I'm top because I play carefully top and it usually works well) and the ADC/Support rages at their lane partner, you can bet your ass we are putting on our gas masks and cleaning out the toxicity. And motivation and assuring the abused laner we got their back. As for communication if I have access to a headset I go in as a full TEAM, not just duo. If I don't we use pings to communicate and only type when we need to or when we are shotcalling for the future. We are absolutely shit at the game, but we keep teamwork in mind and we move as one: only time we run out of a fight is when we ping DANGER 1000000 times because 3 of the fucking members of the enemy team are missing while you chase that Amumu down and that Lissandra is obviously coming towards us because I warded the jungle. (Side note: I take pride in the fact that I ward like crazy)

I don't know why people hate duos when it's either you work with a friend or try to play with a complete stranger whose playstyle/reaction time you have no clue about. Like seriously soloque sup is terrifying. You never know when they'll fight like a villain with tourette's

I'm a support main, yes we do exist and yes we are completely shocked when we find another support main in our team. I'm one of the support mains who prefers to roll with a duo as I find the game more fun and it's one fewer person I need to worry about not knowing their role (also, both of my partners are top mains and top is by far my worst role). We call each other out on misplays, ping the team, talk to them when we need something said (but we keep the flaming in skype :P), and so forth.
Now, one of my partners likes going duo bot with me, because we have synergy. We don't get pissy in chat if someone nabs ADC, and while I'm confused when this happens, I work with it when someone takes support from me. We don't feel obligated to the role, but we DO request that we go bot together, as it is difficult as a support to read the ADC for the first about 10 minutes after you meet the bloke. Also, I don't know who they're going to play, if they're competent with their pick, etc. This makes my job SUPER hard, because I have to try to make my Sona pick work with ADCs who prefer an all-in engage, or my Leona pick work with a super anti-engage ADC?
I'm not saying anything against this video, it gives solid points, all I'm saying is to be willing to adapt, but realize some of us have reasons to request duoing bot with our partner. Sometimes it's just nicer for all parties involved.

I see. But well, it was ages ago when they stated MMR will not affect the position in the ranked queue. Also, it was a common occurance that IF one premade is firstpick, the other almost always was put secondpick. They changed that so that duo queing gives the host a higher chance to get firstpick while the secondpick is entirely random in placement.
I'm also not playing LoL anymore. HoS is much better balanced and well, more fun. I only play LoL when I know friends want me to play with them at this moment.

Over 2 years and this is finally being implemented.
Now this does not make a difference but it says on the league help center thing that the captain of a team in ranked is the person with the highest ELO on that team. but of course, it doesn't really matter but i just thought you should know.
Draft Pick is so stupid. I can't play top, but I can fill on other lanes, but each time I am last pick, I just have to go top. Almost each time. So I tell my team what I'm bad at top and I would love to get just a bit of a help of jungler. Guess what? My Lee Sin farming all day long, doens't give a fuck about top and then ALL team reports me cos I didn't do well. What happens next? I got banned from rankeds because of "feeding" for next 80 games. Thank you Draft Pick!
So question, is it better to play champions that are mediocre but you're good with or OP champs that you're only decent with?
Sky, when the new season 6 comes there'll be a new type of rank queuing. You should update this video or make something similar on the lines of rank or draft play.

This makes me glad that I duo que with a friend honestly. However, we play opposite lanes and are open to changing where we are generally comfortable in order for teammates that are better at it.
2 years old now, still not sure why they haven't put team builder implemented into ranked.
omfg, playing a game right now, the same thing happened, a guy with last pick asked for mid and bitched when he didn't get it, and this other guy said they were a duo. so, yeah.... pretty spot on.

The unspoken rule of Draft Mode: Last Pick never gets mid lane...but in 70% of the cases support.

Duo queue was the best part. When I was doing it myself with a plat 1 smurf, it was just like... whatever. I main support, they main ADC. If we couldn't get those roles, it wasn't the end of the world. But every time we got it, we won.

Being a support main I actually enjoy being last pick; I get to see both team comps flesh out and pick accordingly.
What is most of our team damage? AD or AP? I pick to balance it out.
What is our team comp like? Do we have enough Tanks and CC? Would certain buffs/auras be beneficial? What's our bot lane type?
What's the enemy team like? Do I need more peel or to build certain resistances?
Although I love banning with first pick, support first pick throws a wrench in my selection...
