This was a very nostalgic song for Burch as it was his class song of 1988 and he also shares a story about seeing them in 1988 at the Daytona Beach Ocean center in 1988 during spring break. Alexis really liked David Coverdale's vocals and the song. Here I Go Again by Whitesnake remains a timeless classic.

I miss this type of music in the mainstream. It's so much better than todays autotuned garbage.
Thank you 🤘👍
That's why I went to Japan and Europe for 2010+ released songs for rock/metal. So many good songs from there I've discovered. I've heard these song so many times, though good, they kinda get tiring.
Today's music helps with auto mechanics. It's true. Example: If your car is running and making really horrible sounds... Immediately check to see if a Taylor Swift CD is playing.
Agreed
@@metalmark1214 Seems my reply with a link got deleted. Have you heard Nestor or Brother Firetribe? One from Sweden, other from Finland.
Tawny was just inexcusably, irresponsibly gorgeous.
Wasn't she the Ratt girl too on the Out of The Cellar and Invasion of Your Privacy albums? Dayum, those are good photos. Lol.
@@Falconer1128Tawny was on Out Of The Cellar, it was Marianne Gravatte on Invasion Of Your Privacy.
Will keep saying it, you can't beat 80's music. Best decade
:grins: I understand ... but the greatest music is from the 70's :D
Absolutely
80s music will always be the best decade in music in any genre.
Now we’re talking. David Coverdale has the voice and he’s intelligent to boot. Good combo.
Class of '87 and song was 'Never Say Goodbye' by Bon Jovi, one of the most perfect senior songs ever.
That was our choice as well, but got nixed by the administration because of the line about a 6 pack and the line about "loosing more than that in my back seat". So we went with Here i go again. Times were definitely different back then
"Never Say Goodbye" by Bon Jovi was my wife and I's song back in 1987 and still is our song today! After 37 years together we never Said Goodbye.
Class of 89. This song was an anthem to my generation. 🤘
You were graduating high school and I was being honorably discharged from the military when this song came out. Great memories serving my country.
Here I Go Again
Crying in the Rain
Still of the Night
Is this Love
All Your Live Tonight
Great Album
Absolutely love Cryin’ in the Rain.
R.I.P. Tawny Kitaen A true Rock video Goddess
She was a beautiful sexy woman, but she had her demons. After she & Coverdale divorced, she married California Angels pitcher, Chuck Finley. One night while he was driving, and Tawny was drunk, they had an argument, & she took her shoes off & beat the crap out of him with a Stiletto .
Whitesnake leader David Coverdale wrote the lyric in Portugal. While it's typically thought of as an inspiring song about facing your challenges head-on, it's really a song about heartbreak and the loneliness that comes with it. The song documents the breakdown of Coverdale's first marriage to Julia Borkowski, with whom he tied the knot in 1974.
In 1987, "Here I Go Again" was a #1 hit in America, all over the airwaves and MTV, but the song was written in 1981 and first released in 1982 when Whitesnake was a very different band. David Coverdale formed Whitesnake after leaving Deep Purple. He was well known in the UK, so Whitesnake had a built-in fanbase there, but cracking America was a lot harder. They made inroads in the US with their 1984 album Slide It In, but it was the Whitesnake album in 1987 that took off. When they toured America to support it, they did so as opening act for Mötley Crüe.
The video features very quick shots of the actress Tawny Kitaen dancing seductively on the hoods of two Jaguar cars. One belonged to Coverdale, the other to Marty Callner, who directed the video. It was a huge hit on MTV, and one of the first "tease" videos. Especially among hair bands, it became popular to show flashes of beautiful women throughout the video to keep the viewers (young boys) interested.
And if you listen closely to that 81 recording, Coverdale sings "Like a HOBO I was born to walk alone" instead of Drifter.
My senior song was Styx "The Best of Times." Good stuff!
I graduated in 1984 in southwest Wisconsin and this was my senior song as well. Styx "The Best Of Times". I thought it was a great pick.
Is This Love by Whitesnake! 😎🔥🤘🎸
I watched for Tawny Kitaen to be honest, lol
Nothing like 80s metal and hard rock. Tawny was beautiful.
Class ‘88 here. Our song was That’s what friends are for. We had a whole thing planned for right after everyone had walked and it started pouring 3/4 of the way through the ceremony.
I love watching Burch trying to restrain himself by nodding his head and trying not to sing along with the songs! 😂 It always reminds me of the scene in Waynes World where Wayne was in the TV studio and kept nodding his head with the countdown to live TV. If you know it, you’ll know it!!
REAL ROCK N ROLL BABY! 🤘🎸🎵
'87 here. Ours was Billy Joel's This is the time. Couldn't figure out why because it wasn't even on the radio anywhere near us, but after a year or two, it finally got airplay. Then I realized it was pretty appropriate.
I graduated high school in 1990 and our class song was "I remember you" by Skid Row. Still love the song to this day! I know the song " 5 more minutes" by Scotty McCreary that was Alexis's class song. That is a great song! Scotty McCreary wrote that song after his grandfather passed away.
The woman dancing over the cars is Tawny Kitean who was married to the lead singer from the band for a couple of years before they got divorced. She died a few years back from a lifetime of drug use. This was a huge song when I was in school.
Oh, the memories. Majority rules....a great class song. Go Dogs!
My senior song in 1987 was Never Say Goodbye by Bon Jovi. Every time I hear that song to this day it reminds me of all my friends and the good times we had.
Class of '88, senior song was Foreplay/Longtime by Boston.
A whole new world was my senior song in 1993.
Fellow class of 88! This song was totally all over senior year!
1986 our song was More Than a Feeling by Boston
Del Rio, TX High School Class of 88 - This was also our class song. 0:32
I don't have the faintest idea what a senior song or class song is. However I was at university 1980 to 1983 in Bristol. I saw them live at Colston hall, Bristol on 1981, and hitch hiked all the way from Bristol to London to see them in 1982. Loved them. Happy days.
David Coverdale was not only a founding member and lead singer of Whitesnake but was also the lead singer for Deep Purpler from 83 to 73 to 76 just a little FYI
I don’t remember what our school song was back in ‘87, but the song my friends and I chose was Rush “Fly By Night”.
Ok, love whitesnake but let’s be honest! Every guy loved this video… and it ain’t cause of the band, y’all know why! Love u guys, keep it up!
This song was released originally on a older white snake album with a more blues sound. He decided to redo it here on it went huge. Thank you for sharing.
I have that tape and in that version it was "Like a hobo I was born to walk alone" not like a drifter
ABSOLUTE BANGER! 🔥
Skid Row I Remember You was our class song. Denmark High School Class of ‘91.
Now You're Gone by Whitesnake! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Aww being a teenager of the 80s. My favorite is actually Still of the NIght. As for this song, I remember boys are our school. One was a bass player, he loved Whitesnake (and Tawny helped lol) The other was a guitarist he loved Def Leppard. The radio version has Heart's Mark Andes and Denny Carmassi on it. As for Tawny. Robin Crosby's girl, she was on the cover of Out of the Cellar. She was a gymnast. Love her back then, She was also an actress. Bachelor Party, Witchboard, etc., RIP.
Gods that makes me feel alive again :D Takes me right back to my twenties and nights at 'proper' rock clubs trying desperately to impress the ladies with my air guitar skills and hair :chuckles:
And one lady in particular it worked on ... so much so that I married her :) To the day that she passed she always said one of her great memories was of me rocking out in my trenchcoat to Still of the Night at one of the clubs we used to go to every week :D
EDIT: I was going to ask myself "When did I get so stay-at-home and boring?" ... but it's a question that answers itself ... I got old and my wife died young. It's a 'quote' that is attributed to no one that I know of but "Life is not for the weak!"
That was our senior song also. Absolutely, independent creatures.
My senior song was Rod Stewart "Forever Young"
Class of 84...Separate Ways..Journey
This was also my class song. Class of '88
Class of '95. Our senior song was Small Town by John Mellencamp.
Every teenage boy from the 80s remembers this video!
Class of '91 here. Santa Clara High, Santa Clara, CA. Our class song was Youth Gone Wild - Skid Row.
Hardee High class of 1992 reporting in, ours was Boyz II Men, End of the Road
The thing I liked about Dave's band the most is how clean their sound was, both musically and on their lyrics. They were sexual but you never felt they were degrading women to a piece of meat. There's always an element of a man begging for love rather than a guy of questionable credentials telling her she is cheap and easy. I'm still a fan because of this.
Exactly. All 13 of their albums are great. Especially their earliest ones.
I graduated in 1986...our senior song was 'Nothing Could Stand In Your Way' by Zappacosta. At least, that's what I think it was...I graduated top of my class, but I didn't bother with attending the grad...instead, saved the money for university that fall...ahh, the memories,,,it all seems like yesterday, where did the time go??? Love the channel!!
I'm a Whitesnake fan, and I love this video Here I Go Again. Other awesome Whiesnake songs are Still of the Night, Is This Love, Bad Boys, Give Me All Your Love Tonight, Fool for you Lovin, etc.
Canyon Springs High - Moreno Valley, CA. Class of 1994 - "End of the Road" by Boys II Men
I graduated in 1985. Ours was "We Are The World". We sang it at graduation.
Great singer for sure.
Graduated in 90.......Still Love this song and video. Watching as I was working and just had to pause and watch Tawny one more time
Class of 91. Our senior song was Time For Change Motley Crue.
It's in the movie rock of ages too, great movie
The 80's were the best. The best music ever.
Love you guys, AND 80s Hair bands❤️👍
my graduating class had to sing our class song to the music , it was forever young by Rod Stewart, we had 2 practice sessions and on the day nailed it with a graduating class of 3 hundred + kids
I wouldn’t have been able to do it, that song makes bawl like a baby every time I hear it and I’m not sure why. I don’t have kids, lol.
“Never Say Goodbye” Bon Jovi❤️
I love whitesnake
Every time I see Tawny dancing and doing splits on the car I think about the Bill Murray line from Ghostbusters, "Nimble little minx, isn't she?"
When hair period began, especially with the launch of 1987 album, DJs (and listeners) seemed to forget all the previous great rock/blues/funk (like their cover of "Day Tripper") Whitesnake had done. And people who know the great hits of that album seem to think Whitesnake have done nothing since. But albums like "Good to be bad" "Stormbringer" "Forevermore" "Restless Heart" are just loaded with powerful, gritty no-nonsense rock. And let us not forget the live unplugged "Starkers in Tokyo" (just Coverdale and Vanderberg) which still sounds gerat. I'd love to see reactions to songs like: Only My Soul (or Sailing Ships, if I can't get both), Slave, Best Years, Wings of the Storm, the instrumental "Belgian Tom's hat trick", Fool for your loving, Fool in love again, and W's version of "ain't no love in the heart of the city". Ah! And of course no Whitesnake concert was left without "Burn" (originally recorded by Deep Purple) often in a medley with "stormbringer".
Love this song. And yeah it was very much pop music of 1987:)
Our 1990 senior song as well
Seen Whitesnake 4 times. Have great memories and stories.
'97 here, I believe our class song was Green Day's "Time of Your Life".
My class song was Journey - Don't Stop Believing. This song was on on the ballet along with Rock N Roll High School by the Ramones.
I graduated from HS 37 years ago this week. I bought this Tape the first week of June 87. we had just moved to Tampa from Indiana. I did not want to go, but this album had a BIG impact on me settling into life in Florida! Such great nostalgia. Thank you for this.
YOUTH GONE WILD
Co '89 here, ours was "I'll Be There For You"
Great song..I only know 2 of their songs and this is definitely a fantastic one.great reaction
This song is my life. Ive made it clear in my will, that they will play this song at my wake.
There were two versions of this song. The album cut, which is the video here and what Rock stations played and the "radio edit" which were the single and was played on the pop stations.
My senior song was "nothing but a good time" by Poison. class of 1989
I graduated well past the 80s. I cant remember which song won out but I remember our choices were between a song from GnR or Motley Crüe. It had nothing to due with a song being relatable as it did my class loved 80s rock.
Righ in that era with you Burch, Class of 86 here. I love this track and this album and these guys were soo good live... saw them on this tour and the one after in 89-90 with Steve Vai for the Slip of the Tongue album and tour...
Crying in the rain live Aldrich amazing 73 year old drummer definitely won't be disappointed...
1981 Styx Best of Times was my senior song
did you know the song was originally on Whitesnake's 1982 Saint & Sinner album, co written by Bernie Marsden who sadly passed away last year. in his biography he talks about how in 1986 he got the right to his music writing from his former manager for 10P per track. the year later Whitesnake released the 87 album and Here i go again was a world wide hit, the royalty's form gave Bernie the chance to have a comfortable life for him and his family.
Scotty McCreary does 5 More Minutes. Tearjerker!
Bingo
77 Stairway to Heaven....
I always thought of this as my theme song as well. I graduated in 1990 (should have been '89 but that's another story) and our class voted for Goodbye to Romance by Ozzy as our class song.
She's beautiful, good review by u guys, seen them live as young cats, awesome show by them 🤘😆🤘🎸🥁🎤
Great song and reaction. My senior song was Bon Jovi Never Say Goodbye.❤❤
I was class of '88 and remember this song very well, and by the way sang it word for word...LOL
Class of 1983 in central PA high school was "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Class of '81 Back in Black
Winner - Closer to Free - Bo Deans (Party of Five theme song
Runner up - 1979 - Smashing Pumpkins (most of our class was born 78/79)
our class song was The Best of Times by Styx 1982
The original was on their Saints & Sinners album from 1982. Back when Whitesnake was more bluesy. It had Bernie Marsden and Mick Moody on guitars, Jon Lord on keys, Ian Paice on drums and Neil Murray on bass. Crying In The Rain was also on this album. When they recorded Here I Go Again in 1987 guitarist John Sykes didn't like the blues and the solo was recorded by Adrian Vandenburgh. Check out early Whitesnake. Songs like Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues, Love Hunter and Mean Business.
The original version had a “nip slip” at the beginning of the second chorus when she’s hanging out the window of the car. MTV didn’t catch it right away and it did air. I use to have it on VHS back in the day when I recorded My favorite videos.
how you described his voice vs others, as more masculine is dead on!! i always thought that.
Our senior song was Joe Walsh- Life's Been Good....class of 78
Great song!! ❤❤
I graduated in 1992. Smells like Teen Spirit was the song and our anthem
I swear the first few airings of this video contained a "Nip Slip"....anyone else remember ?
Its still there
do you all remember shades night club in orange park? they use to have concerts and i was at their last show b4 they quit doing concerts and saw Cinderellla, was waiting outside to get in and Tom was warming up his voice then while concert was ongoing shook Erics hand...memories I will never forget
Class of ‘88 here as well. Go Tornadoes. We used to listen to this song while cruising “the strip” in our tiny town with the t-tops out on my 1979 Cutlass Calais.
From what I remember, the "Kitty Cars", aka Jaguars, used in these videos all belonged to David Coverdale. The 2 that Tawny is gyrating on were ones he just bought for restoration. They were washed n waxed for the video, but otherwise inoperable. David has - or at least had - a large fleet of various year Jags. At least this is how I remember.
Oh, and BTW, that's David Coverdale singing "Burn" during his Deep Purple years.
