      You beat me to commenting this. Among all the stones, the Reality Stone stood out to me the most because it was the least exploited stone given what the name is supposed to imply and that it was a plot device in a solo movie. The other stones' capabilities was well explored in the respective movies they first appeared in but not this one; only that its use was limited to turning matter to dark matter. But in Infinity War, it totally deserved the name "REALITY" stone. A big plus was also the fact that that stone can be found in the same place and person where it was located in the comics which was the Collector.
      2nd fave was the Power Stone. In GotG, it was shown that it's the most destructive among all the stones, but now they utilized its main function well which was to amplify strength. Thanos was so OP in physical combat thanks to that.

    I just saw Thor: The Dark World recently and I honestly think people are too hard on it. It's not perfect, but it's a solid film with some really good performances, scenes, and character moments.

      The Once and Future Nerd agreed. I still remember people liked it back in 2013, and somehow years later people suddenly despise this movie, maybe because of how generic it is. It is generic, but for me, its enjoyable

    • @unknownuser2897
      @unknownuser2897 6 лет назад +6

      daniel white There is a tendency nowadays to hate on anything even mildly successful for some reason. Makes me sad, as it turns people off from a lot of good and even great films.

    • @danielwhite3244
      @danielwhite3244 6 лет назад +4

      The Once and Future Nerd lets be honest, i dont think mcu ever makes a truly terrible movie. My lowest rated for mcu is iron man 2 and i still gave that movie a 6 out of 10 because it has good performance, some compelling moments but a lot of it was muddled with over reliance of building a universe. Mcu never claim itself to be flawless and perfect, but what makes mcu so special is that yes they are a just your usual blockbuster franchise. But somehow, they have heart, compelling characters even if the plot sometimes can be a but generic. When they are good, they are great. When they are bad, they are still entertaining. I mean its far different from transformers, twilight, fast and furious and any other brainless blockbuster franchise out there

    • @unknownuser2897
      @unknownuser2897 6 лет назад +5

      daniel white Absolutely agree. I've been researching the MCU films in preparation for Infinity War and I'm amazed how they're always something I like about all their movies, and many of them are very good.

    If the reality stone can actually bend reality, then the other stones would be useless.
    Can't it bend reality to fast forward or rewind time like the time stone?
    Can't it bend reality to give super strength like the power stone?
    Can't it bend reality to control minds or Teleport?
    I'm kind of disappointed that it's only used to make petty illusions in infinity war. Logically, the reality stone alone can do what all the other stones can do, except maybe the soul stone.

    • @parkerboy795
      @parkerboy795 6 лет назад +8

      Won't Smith Maybe, but having all the stones together and making you one of the most powerful beings in the universe with their power completely under your control isn't a bad idea. Really, they were only illusions cause Thanos willed it. If he wanted, they could have been real.

    I think Thor: The Dark World was meant to be about chaos, the aether did was a chaotic force. They used it to bring the movies theme out more, make it more noticeable to us and you which you made this video on. The title "The Dark World" wasn't named after the dark world Thor & Loki traveled to, they wouldn't name the movie after a place that only has 30 mins of screan time, I think the title was meant as the chaos going on, like you said, how Odin felt after Frigga's death, Loki after her death, etc. Overall the title tells the movie itself, how dark a world can get, Asgard, the 9 realms, every world/real going into darkness which was Malekith's mission, bring darkness which creates chaos I'd assume, the only issue I had was that the aether was suppose to have the theme of the infinity stone (reality) just like every other stones housing form, it didn't change reality and there was no sign of it through out the film which threw some of us off, that was my only issue

    From the name I just thought that if one of the stones was stolen or destroyed, Thanos could either use the time stone to rewind time, or use the reality stone to bend reality and make the stealing/destroying job unreal to recover it. Choosing that "reality" word for the name really made me confused about its utilities.

    I still do not understand what would happen if Malaketh were successful. We're told that it's something bad, but I still can't figure oat how it would effect us. Malaketh apparently lives outside the darkness just fine, and there is something that he really wants with the determination of the terminator. What I mean is that good villains don't view themselves as villains, but I still can't figure oat what exactly he wants and why. If anyone knows, feel free to let me know.

  • @EccentricGentelman

    Hello, I was hoping you could help me with a question that's been bothering me ever since I saw this film.
    It's the part where Odin says "These realms are not eternal, there will be a dusk as there was a dawn."
    Now by nature I initially tend to take things literally and think in absolutes, in black and white terms. I also tend to lean towards the negative. So when I heard Odin say that I at once thought he was talking about the end of the entire universe. This theory something that has always upset me greatly yet for some reason, everyone seems to think it's a fact and is perfectly fine about it. When this line came from Odin I thought it meant the MCU was adding that to it's nature and it ruined the whole franchise for me. I loved the MCU films but because of this I stopped watching them, I saw some of Endgame but skipped the rest.
    So I want to ask, did Odin mean just the 9 realms? Or did he mean all creation? And please be sensitive in your answers as this is a sensitive issue for me.

    The Soul Stone's theme is sacrifice. Thanos won because he was willing to put his feelings aside and sacrifice someone he loved. The heroes had several opportunities to make sacrifices but they weren't willing to do so. Not until it was too late. Once Thanos got the Time Stone the war was already won.

    Hey since we’re discussing infinity war spoilers here, I’ve been wanting to ask.
    SPOILERS FOR INFINITY WAR
    So In Thor the dark world and I’m guessing the avengers, basically all phase one and two films isn’t it stated by someone or multiple people (whom I can’t really remember must’ve been Odin or Thor or even Odin’s father) that the stones are too powerful to destroy or that they can’t be destroyed at all? Because I saw IW and I was thinking about how SW is destroying the mind stone in Wakanda. I know she was gifted Powers from the same stone but I don’t really think that she could’ve been able to destroy it even if her powers matched that of the mind stone.
    Also another thing is that I wasn’t expecting the Black Order to die so quickly in the film, I knew they would die eventually but I thought they would carry over to avengers 4.
    Finally, I think Steve Rogers should have really mourned the loss of Bucky again and the rest of his mates, or really everyone should have we should have seen them in shock and agony. Iron man was fine he was freaking out and probably having a full mental breakdown after peter was erased from existence, similar to how Okoye was freaking out that her king the Black Panther was gone.

    I'd say you covered this one pretty honestly, Ryan. No need to gaud up a mediocre effort by Marvel.

    spoiler:::;; warning
    AVENGERS INFINITY
    WAR
    there is red skull in the movie with soul stone.... mark raffalo was right that everybody will gonna die in infinity war. and it does happens. thanos gets all stones and he snapps his fingers and everybody starts to disappear in dust/ ashes.. emotional part was that when spidey says to Tony stark that he's feeling well and doesn't want to die and then he start disappear/dust and everybody.. in end credit scene Nick furry also starts to disappear after calling Captain marvel.bcoz thanos snapped his fingers.. everybody in wakanda died.. but i don't understand the part when dr. strange gives time stone to thanos and says its for good (i mean is he had plan or something?).. red skull demands soul for soul to thanos so he traded gamora,but gamora try to kill herself by jumping off the cliff but she didn't succeed and get killed. iron Man get stabbed.. Scarlett witch rip off stone from vision's head by killing him and destroys it but thanos travel backs to time and recover it and snap happens #sorry for spoiler but i warned you.. climax of the movie will bring tears in your eyes. i have never seen such movie with action comedy. and suddenly emotional.

    So the Dark Elves made the Reality Stone?
    🤔
    Power Stone: made by The Celestials
    Time Stone: made by Sorcerers
    Space: ??
    Mind: ??
    Soul: made itself??

    Heimdall has or is the soul stone. He can see where souls (everyone) are no matter where they are located. The soul stone is orange. Heimdall’s eyes are orange. Just my thoughts.
