I realize this is an older video, happy I ran across it! 3 seasons later, have you used the 044 much how do you like it? I have built dad a farmertec 660 Lego kit, it has done well for two years (started paws needed some filing and a little dry graphite, replaced the bar adjuster with OE)
I saw in another comment you had stated that the kit uses the updated 12mm wrist pin. I have an extra 54mm top end for a 660, what are your thoughts on going way over under square on this platform? I believe that puts it at about 88cc, I’d port it pretty aggressively and make a pipe. Looking to build something different this spring for next firewood season, something lighter than the 660 that will hands down out cut a Factory 461.
I’m not looking for conformation bias, any actually feedback would be appreciated. As always, thanks for sharing.

I ran it alit sol d it last fall if you do a big bore just get a 52mm big bore for a 440 with that you basically have kiggrweight 460

Okay, I did just look and Duke offers a 54mm for the 460, I believe I have read that with some fitting the 460 jugs will shoehorn into the 440 plastic. I’m going to go for it, if it all goes south, top kits are cheep and there is always the one it comes with. Yes lightweight is one of the goals for sure, I expect to use this saw on spurs with a 32. We have a few large yard maples that need blocked down this next year.
Thanks for the reply, appreciate the content, I’ll post something when it all comes together.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but can't u put a 460top end on a 440?

Well yes and no a really 044 uses a 10mm wrist pin,an046 uses a 13mm..this 440 kit used the larger pin to sure on a real 440..but I'm sure there is an aftermarket 460 piston with the smaller pin...

@@JandSChainsaw I'd heard that the 440 is lighter saw an turns higher quicker than the 460 so blend the best of both with a 460 top end supposed to really be a huge improvement an a mean cutter. I never done 1 before tho.

      @@justinweaver8787 I have an 046 I swear they appear identical..topend being the only difference..maybe a real 044 is lighter idk..the 046 in stock k form is a mean ssw..I've had thoughts on a race between the 2...
