  • Guys, this is NOT a scientific test... I was jacking around and filmed a bit... I didn't take time to make this into some kind of perfect by the book shootout. Again it's off the cuff having some fun. They are both really nice saws and a pleasure to run. I think a better test, which if I get the time I'll try to do, would be to tune both to the exact same rpm(these were both 12,800-13,000, but I really didn't take time to really nail that down) and put a long bar on them. From what I can feel, the clone has a noticeable boost in torque. Again, this is NOT an even test.. a fresh build vs. a work saw... I guess I could also do a compression test to put some numbers to the saws, I will saw that both saws have what feels to be equal compression. If I do another video, I'll do the old pull cord test on camera.. I suspect the OEM saw will win that as the rings on the clone are certainly not broken yet. I call it as I see it, good, bad or ugly....

Times first cuts OEM 12.8 Clone 9.8 seconds. Seems pretty strong for a clone. Thinking about buying the kit and doing a big bore and porting it some.

Great video really happy to see some of the differences between both saws with such a 440 guru

I really like the way you described how Saw should cut the same if it’s the same RPM same chain same everything but a different saw should cut the same I thought about that quite a bit only makes sense to me.

It's mechanics.. but i wasn't sure I was clear.. speed of a chain is speed of a chain.. the difference to be had is either top speed or torque to pull a bigger bar or cutter configuration..

Do you think you could cut a few more exhaust ports in a muffler and pack it with course stainless steel wool and fiberglass muffler mat? It works on a 4 wheeler. More air could escape at a lower velocity but you could still adjust back pressure with muffler packing. Anyway. Thanks for the video!

I have thought about it. And have looked into tuned pipes. Problem is the bulkiness.. on quad pipes its a pulse wave coming back and assisting fuel charge.. in our limited room i fear not hindering performance is an engineering impossibility.. i can get them more quiet.. and packing woukd likely help.. but i suspect it would collect carbon like a screen can and be an issue.. it is a science and art to tuning pipes..

@@bulletproofsaws good point. I may try it on a crappy saw anyway
