  • Welp the first official cook on my new UDS is in the books!! I decided to go with a 10lbs Pork Butt when the store had them for .99 cents a pound! Overall I was super satisfied with how it turned out and the Uncle Steve's Shake Competition Pig Powder was really good! Remember about the giveaway over on Instagram! Thanks for watching!! 🍻
    The Cook Details
    Fuel: B and B Oak Lump and Western Post Oak Chunks
    Pit Temp: 275-300F
    Protein: 10 pound pork shoulder
    Cook Times: Total cook time of 6 Hours - 4.5 hours smoked and 1.5 hours wrapped. Pulled off when probe tender which this time was 204F. Let rest for 7ish hours and pulled

    Hey Bri! Wow.......You really went for it with using Lump on this first cook.......I gotta give it to You for that! And....to Not run a heat deflector......That was Killer! 👍
    That was a true test on the adjustability of that UDS. Man that thing held steady temps....👍👍 Probe tender with awesome bark and still hot after resting 7 hours....Killer! 👍

    Looks beautiful very nice color.
    That's a cool cutting board also I've been debating on getting that one or not.

    Hey man, greetings from the emerald isle, loved the build vids, got a barrel last week, working on a fire box today, stainless steel base , exp' metal sides, a way to go but Indian summer in Ireland today so did a rot' chicken on the master touch, love your da's vids too.

    Very good finish to the build series.
    Cook a chicken, and steaks. I really liked the build videos, let's see what the UDS can do.

      @@MadHorseBBQI'm looking the 850. I just sold my MAK 1 star due and my UDS due to an upcoming move out of CA and have been researching USA made pellet grills. The P&S seems like the way to go. I appreciate all of the cooks you have done on your 1250.
