  • Welcome back everybody! Today I cooked up an 8lb pork butt that I grabbed from my local grocery store. The cooker that I used in this video was built from a kit that I purchased from udsparts.com. This cooker is your "not so ugly drum" smoker! It puts out great barbecue every single time.
The butt was seasoned with a heavy layer of my own special SPG rub and finished with a good dose of Meat Church Deez Nuts Pecan rub. This combo just goes together. The cooker ran between 275-300 all day long with no adjustments what so ever. It really is a great kit. A little hickory and cherry smoke really turned this pulled pork into something special.
If you liked the video, subscribe to my channel and give me a thumbs up! I would love to hear from you as well, so leave me a question or a comment!
    Thanks for watching!

Not exactly sure the model number but it’s a Thermopro thermometer. I got it off of Amazon for about 50 bucks. It’s an awesome thermometer and very durable. Comes with two probes.

What are the advantages of a drum smoker over the Weber Summit Charcoal Grill

Thats a good question! Honestly, they're aren't any major advantages. It does produce a different flavor on a drum versus a summit or other komado style grill. I think a drum gives a more "authentic" pit flavor compared to any other cooker out there besides a stick burner. Something about the fat dripping on a bed if hot coals produces a very unique flavor.
