    // ABOUT ME
    I'm Christi Bovee, a voice and life coach with nearly three decades of experience in helping speakers, actors and singers "Find their voice and Make their sound." Using my proprietary method of Functional Voice Coaching ™ my clients overcome limiting beliefs and fear (often held for decades) and breakthrough to use their voices in freedom and power. The human voice thrives when the human heart feels safe, encouraged and loved. I come into my voice coaching with YOUR heart and voice in mind, not my ego and reputation.
    Each week I post new videos to help you uplevel your mindset and habits as a vocalist (including things around self-care, technique, training your brain as much or more than you train your voice, and MORE). I encourage you to step into your power, find YOUR voice and make YOUR sound in the world today. The world is waiting for you. Someone is literally praying for what YOU bring. To learn more, check out my links below or send me any questions you have. You are LOVED!
    DID YOU KNOW? I am allowed to be BOTH a work in progress AND help others grow at the same time? It's true! I appear here imperfect but growing as a coach and professional vocalist. I refuse to wait until I believe I'm perfect or someone else has deemed me worthy of impacting others. I know who I am and what I am called to do and who I am supposed to help. I am unapologetically accepting a life of massive growth and improvement, regardless of your opinion of me as a voice coach and a person. Fear is my greatest motivator. It really is a freeing way to live! I highly recommend you try this way of being for yourself and see how life shifts for YOU. Thanks for watching!

    This video was incredible. I used to act a lot in high school and have slacked on my voice training since then. This video really helped me with my stuttering and breath work.

    In just under a year of voice acting, I've finally landed a big gig and found that I was getting worn out pretty quickly during my reads, which were also taking a while to do in a satisfactory way. I never needed to do more than a few minutes here and there, as needed for auditions, but now I'm recording for a couple hours and I was feeling it. This certainly helped and scripts that were taking ten minutes to read, were dropping down to just under six. Big improvement for the first time, so thank you very much for this great warm up video!

    This is honestly good not only for voice acting but also good for vocals in some aspects as well, I think. I'm a beginner and starting to delve into using my speaking and singing voice a little bit late in the game. I'm starting to use these warm-ups, and I'm noticing more versatility, range, and stamina in my voice. Thank you so much for this.

    How wonderful to find your videos! As often happens, one thing led to another in that serendipitous way for lack of better word. I am subscribed to a couple of Queen channels, and like you was enthused to hear of the new release of 'Time'. I notice voice coach videos often as I peruse this vast oddity called RUclips. That comment dates me perhaps. I'm 63. To the point, for some reason I chose your video and your reaction to Freddie's "Time". I was touched.., had my Kleenex also! What an extraordinary man he was, a trailblazer in many ways. 20+ years ago my then teen son was listening to Queen music, that being my 2nd time to really hear this man's voice, the first as a teen myself when Queen came onto the music scene. ( Must have been very cool to attend the concert you mentioned.) Now, inspired by the movie I've spent more in earnest time studying the miracle that was Freddie Mercury, which has to include his voice. A long comment from me I know, just wanted to share how I got to your channel!. My history has been one of yoga, meditation & conscious breathing starting in natural childbirth classes in 1976. I realized a year later when I landed in a yoga class this was worth investing time in. I recognizeed yogic breathing techniques were being taught in the child birth classes, and later in many other self help classes. All good. Years later I was an assistant to a teacher of Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan), & taught self improvement/meditation classes, all of which relied on both breath and voice work techniques to help clear/strengthen the body/mind. Ok. Current:, I am older, working with illness, less able to do yoga, and fell back from the discipline needed for what I called ' daily breathing' & chanting. I am working towards getting those vital mechanisms back in place and really appreciate this video. I've gone through it twice today. ( Will probably go somewhere in my car to let my voice loose.Ha..I live in an apartment with thin walls, & noticed that I was holding back on projection.; - ) And I am very rusty. I have hopes of being in the public by next year, certainly developing my voice/breath is needed and working with all your content here is so helpful! Loved the jaw release work,amazing how we can clench the jaw unawares! Apologies for a tome of a comment. Gratitude for your being there!!. Subscribed & interested. Have a great day!

      How marvelous to hear from you today! WELCOME, dear Deborah. It is a rare thing indeed to find people actually interested in singing who find me via the reaction videos. This is a new format to me, so I'm learning so many things as I go along, and you finding me this way is a huge encouragement. Keep breathing, keep singing, keep being engaged and interested! Loved reading your story! The voice is a muscle and it can be gently stretched back into service. I highly recommend doing lots of 'lip trills' or buzzing as I call them. I'm constantly talking about this technique because it connects your breathing with your singing while keeping the larynx relaxed. Keep at it if it is stop and start at first. And doing what you can with yoga again would be marvelous for your voice as well. Even if it is chair yoga to start. Keep in touch. You've made my day today!😍

    Great video. It's a lot like yoga breathing.
    Somewhere around the 12:00 minutes mark I was getting a lot of inspiration for writing a Metal song...need to do it in false chords though. (Hope you don't mind I was imagining you with bizarre looking make-up)
    I'm not a public voice person but voice warm-ups like this are like yoga and work to relax the mind and body and remove tension. I thought this was great. I need to memorize some of these and pull them out when I need them.
    For years I did breathing before sleep and a few years ago I switched to false chord (whisper) screaming (and fry). It really releases tension before sleep. I often do the vowels but a lot of these will work well. Thanks.

      @dougarnold7955 4 года назад

      Thanks for the heart. I remember this video. I've been doing the gentle breathing on the false chords and I'm getting used to it.

    I'm an aspiring voice actor so these exercises are GREAT. However, to avoid vocal strain for those whose vocal technique is poor or weak and thus prone to strain, I'm thinking that it's very important to use these vocal exercises more gently at first, and then gradually build up,;rather than start at full throttle

    You are so cute! So sweet! I love the way you reacted to sober by tool. You are just refreshing and positive. I am the worst singer ever. I like watching your videos to help me get in a good mood! LOL ☺️
