Cook/Professional Baker here, I’d like to say that this guy is an absolute joy of a Culinarian. Being an educator, contributor to health and wellness, and possibly the sweetest presence ever is amazing. He’s a great teacher and Maya did amazing as line cook. 10/10 👩🏾🍳👍🏾
Can we talk about the working chemistry between Myia and the owner of the food truck?? He was so patient and kind. Not condescending not being a try-hard. He’s amazing.

literally the machinery that produces the 'vegan food' pumps out far more inudstrial waste than anything. methane isn't bad for the enviroment. The whole planet feeds off of carbon and CO2. craziness.
i think meeting people where they are at and just asking to try to reduce not eliminate animal products from your diet as a much wiser strategy to market towards people on the edge that recognize it, but struggle making such an ideological stand. kudos to stressing that in the video, but ive known maya has been a proponent of that strategy and she's why i made changes to my diet for a handful of years now.
Non-animal products aren't necessarily more sustainable. Agriculture is usually what takes the most water, and chemical fertilizer, which requires fossil fuels to make.
@@CrowsofAcheronAnd you know what the animals eat, right? If everyone ate plant-based, we would need A LOT less agriculture than today.
@@CrowsofAcheronyeah, and 80% of agriculture is fed to the animals we produce. stopping their consumption also stops said agriculture.
And going from a regular meat eater diet to vegetarian or vegan is really difficult! Like for some people it's really easy but for most people it is a huge lifestyle change. I slowly decreased my meat intake before going vegetarian and I usually recommend reduction for people who's ideals align for it.
@@Presnix324 I think it depends where you live and how willing you are to change things. I personally think social pressure is the biggest reason for people who secretly want to be more aware of their impact to not be.

And I don't know how people see Maya's and his content as similar, even if you just look at shorts (idk if that guy makes long form) that's two totally opposite spectrum of content. Maya's main point beside rescue is to educate, she's educating her viewers as well as viewers of other streamers who comes to check out the collab and streamers themselves who can on their own later influence their audience. He just posts videos with animals, don't get me wrong, nothing bad with that. Just they live on a different planet of "content" also Alveus is 501(c)(3) and has to uphold certain standard, act as a charity and invest all of the fundraisers and money gained by Alveus' channels goes straight to the source, nothing in the pocket, as a 501(c)(3) the taxes are also public. I'm almost certain that he does none of that except rescuing animals, although I don't have deep knowledge I feel like space and treatment of his animals isn't that good. If comments are something to go for people are writing A LOT of R.I.P. about A LOT of his decesead animals, I feel "safer" to not support him.
@@0NeeN0 The death comments are mostly satire, the only real recent death of a significant animal to the channel he's had was his pet big ounce, who was old and had a tumor. Maya is definitely more focused on the educating side while URR is mostly made to make people laugh. They are definitely two different sides of the spectrum but there is no reason not to support him. He is constantly rescuing animals, nursing them back to health and then releasing them back into the wild. He treats his animals well too, i've been watching him for years and i've seen nothing that would make me think that he treats his animals badly

Love this video, can't wait for more! Next time, I would love if you could focus more on the specifics of what the vegan substituted products are made of and how they're made. Seeing you make the food is cool, but it's pretty much the same as making the food with regular meat products.
I’m excited for this to be a series. This was a fun video to watch and it’s informative. I haven’t considered going vegan, but man did that burger look good. Maybe in the next trip you can include good alternatives to beef, chicken, etc? Basically what to look for in the store for those considering changing things up! Thanks Maya 😊

the reason i've made changes to my diet, it's not easy to 100% switch to no meat, but i've cut red meat and am using SO many more alternatives :) shoutout maya
You don't have to cut meat either you can just source your meat better and just like that you have solved the issue, cutting off 100% of meat from your diet is harmful to you.
@@chah5001 there's plenty of healthy people who have taken meat completely out of their diet. Do you have a source for it being harmful?
@louis1001 it will have to be replaced with a much wider variety of other sources of nutrition and supplements which is not only harder to get for everyone in the world but also expensive and impractical to say the least.
@@chah5001a healthy diet is a healthy diet, vegan or not. If you add meat to a horrible diet it's also not healthy. If you just remove meat from the standard American diet, it'll be super unhealthy, but most vegans don't do this. Whole food vegan is the cheapest diet there is.

Yeah, good food is good food. Some vegan stuff isn't quite there yet so try not to let a bad experience foul it for you. I've had plenty of non-vegan food that wasn't great so I try to keep that in mind.

It was so much fun seeing all the other people coming over for the collab! Although it seems like some people showed up without even knowing what they signed up for. That's almost more dedication than the other way around😂
I still remember you going to that vegan restaurant and being like "I don't want to be a vegan that eats a bunch of salad". That is something that resonated with me. I am mostly a meet eater, but have had some really good vegan food. I am interested in reducing the amount of meet I eat. But when it comes to cooking it myself I just don't know where to start. So additionally to showcasing great vegan restaurants, I'd like to suggest a cooking series. There you could show how to make delicious vegan food yourself. Either with streamers, or cooks that have some recipes they would like to share. You could start with Chris as he seemed hyped to share vegan recipes.
I like your attitude towards vegan food instead of telling people that being vegan is the only tolerable option, you encourage them to slowly transition into it.

Good video! It's really important to show that you don't necessarily have to sacrifice _anything_ by going with the vegan (or vegetarian) option. Vegan burgers are for example so good these days that I opt for that every single time, and I'm not even vegan or vegetarian. It's simply the case that I'm now able choose the option that's better for the planet (and arguably myself) without downsides. Easy life! 👍

This is so cool! I actually own my own food truck down in Sargent TX! I have been trying to figure out how to make food truck content and I think this actually really helps! I used to stream for a few years and I wanted to somehow combine those two together!
