    Hello Marcus, I have been using 3ds Max 2013 for a year now, self taught myself from tutorials, the only thing I had missing to learn was sub object multi texturing an object and this did it, I am in Second Life and have begun making money designing various themes. If you ever want to see any of my designs, I am happy to show them to you.
    On a last note, this tutorial has been extremely helpful in helping me understand assigning multiple material id's to one object, you have my thanks.
    Pat

    Hi Pat, thank you for the comment, and I wish you good luck in your modelling career. Any models you make you should upload to demonstrate your techniques and abilities, especially if you are looking to make money on the designs. All the best, Marcus

    Throw a Edit Mesh or Poly on top of the Modifier Stack. You should be able to make the changes on the new modifier.

    @MarcusDesigns Yeah, you know I've just remember that I had to add a ProBoolean substraction to that side of the wall, that's probably what's messing it all up :S
    I'ma try just copying the wall, placing it in the same place and delete the otherone :)
    I think when I copy it, the copy won't have no modifiers..

    What version are you using (Max 2012, or the Design version maybe)? Are you using the standard view of the materials or are you in slate view? It would be useful to be able to see an image of the material editor so I can see what is happening.

    Around 2:30, you click on the black box to change the color, but when i click on it, the color grid doesn't show up.

    @MarcusDesigns Hey sup dude!
    I've got a problem here that really ruined all expectations for a pretty house model...
    I've got a L-Shaped wall and I applied a brick material to it... It worked in 3 faces, but the texture deforms and stretches along other 2 faces :S
    I've tried rotating and offsetting, still I can't fix it, any ideas?

    Right at 1:42, none of the sub-materials have names like "Material #25 (Standard)" for me, they all say "None" and it is impossible to click on the color swatches next to them to change the colors (they're all just black). What could I be missing ?

    Nevermind, I found the problem. I forgot to change the materials to standard.

    @gordonfreemannr2 Actually i'm having the exact same issue. I set my IDs to unique pieces, etc, but after I add a texture to say.. ID 1, after that I can't see the rest of the textures I add, only gray. And it's driving me nuts lol. It's making things difficult because I can't tell if i've selected something by mistake until later. It won't even show the textures in render. D:

    What is the main material name? Is it a standard material?
