I'm sure you'll be safe enough,I think you would start to feel sleepy before it got harmful. My only issue with propane heaters is that they cause a lot of condensation,my workshop roof is alluminium and it would be dripping water after a short time with a gas heater. I have a log burner bought from E-bay,keeps the shop nice and warm and the dogs love it.
Hey Anything on 4 wheels!!!! Thanks for Ur help, I look forward to getting to 10K subscribers, at that point, I get a focus person from you tube and I can have some direct input to there policies.... Thanks again for Ur help, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
I grew up living in a 12x60 trailer with two heaters like this or simulator going 24hrs a day. Also had many other relatives do the same thing. If the heater has a catalyst you'll be fine.
Hey Bill, I was surprised how little CO these heaters put out, I was surprised how much my trx250 puts out, it triggered the alarm immediately! Thanks for the good info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide are 2 different things.... Complete combustion of propane results in the formation of carbon DIoxide and water vapour. Carbon MONoxide is a by-product of combustion when there is not enough oxygen to burn the propane completely. Between that and the lead in the water for almost 30% of all Americans.... Just a question... how many Trump voters in the family?
I had been wondering about your heater. I run a propane radiant heater and have wondered about it, but then I only run it to take the chill off, usually about 40 degrees before I shut it down. 40 is warm compared to zero... Thanks for the information. I like that your heater doesn't sound like a blast furnace running all the time.
Hey Fix-it Man!!! The heater is quiet, pretty cheap to run, does not need electricity and I like the way it radiates heat downward like the sun, I just wanted to be sure that I was not causing myself harm or recommending to others a way of causing themselves harm.... Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Thank god you have a meter tester Harvey dont wanna see you get sick. Have you ever looked into a DIY Beer Can Heater? They work good on sunny day's not so much on cloudy day's. 10 bucks a day for heat is good.
Hey Spongie!!! Not much on the beer can heater, I have had more success with the hard cider can heater!!! My son gets me the fuel for free.... The only problem with the cider can heater is that it gives me the urge to water trees all the time, kind of slows my work.... LOL!!! Thanks for the suggestions, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
Gotta use infrared heaters to keep this place warm. 1 degree low tonight. Been trying to get landlord to spring for more insulation. I'd install it. All he had to do was provide material cost but he's tighter than the bark on a tree. Guess he'll be shelling out for a plumber on Friday. :) Forgive my delight. LOL
Hey 59chevt!!!! I was surprised to see how little CO was emitted from the heater and how much was released from the TRX250!!! Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Flueless propane / natural gas fireplaces are very common and suposidly safe for indoors. I have one its an insert. It works awesome because all the heat goes into the room and not up the chimney. It stinks up the house a hell of alot less than the old wood fireplace did. Im sure its a million times better than a kerosene heater. maybe you can test one of those
Hey Jeep, I got rid of all my kerosene heaters, they would mess with my sinuses, but, I started the TRX250 and the CO meter instantly alarmed as going over the safe limit.... Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!
Two issues with propane heaters. 1. Oxygen use. 2. CO production. Oxygen use is probably more critical than CO production. You can easily drop the O2 levels below livable before the CO levels cause an alarm. Decreased Oxygen will cause drowsiness and confusion. Increased CO will cause headaches and confusion.
Hey David!!! Turns out these propane heaters seem pretty safe with just a little bit of ventilation, now, start up a motor and see how quickly the CO builds up.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!!
Hey ZIG!!! CO damage accumulates, it can present as the flu and it can aggravate other health issues.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, concerns, advice, watching, and commenting!!!
Hey Terri!!! I wanted to make sure that I was not causing any more damage to myself then necessary!!! Thanks for Ur thoughts, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
Hey Mike!!! I was surprised when I started up the TRX250 with the doors opened and the meter instantly alarmed.... I looked at CO detectors, I was after something with a read out so that I could be sure that I was not running on the edge of trouble.... Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Hey Biskit, I wanted to be sure that I was not slowly gassing myself with CO, I figured that I would share what I learned with the community.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!! Welcome to my channel, I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment, please come back often, new videos everyday!
i think in your situation the gas explosion from the gas can on the floor would get you before the carbon monx.i know for a fact that in a closed space gas fumes can be ignited from over 100 feet.. duh
Hello I love your video I have CDI in my Honda 250 the same one you are currently been doing video on I also have a trx200 sx is it ok to put the CDI in the 200 from out of my 250 it's a bit bigger just wants to be sure so I don't burn it out and be down both ATVs thx man can't wait to hear back for you
Hey 88Katana! For $28 U can know what U R being exposed to and U may find that U can seal up some more leaks and save some more $.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
Hey Ashley, The scientific stuff is the old engineer in me.... I hope this helps keep folks safe.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Hey Anything on 4 wheels!!!! Thanks for Ur help, I look forward to getting to 10K subscribers, at that point, I get a focus person from you tube and I can have some direct input to there policies.... Thanks again for Ur help, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
Hey Mike, The patio heater makes working out in the garage possible, without it, my time out there would be even more limited.... Up in the frigid north where U R, under it could be a place to defrost between wrenching sessions!!! Thanks for Ur encouragement, advice, thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide are 2 different things.... Complete combustion of propane results in the formation of carbon DIoxide and water vapour. Carbon MONoxide is a by-product of combustion when there is not enough oxygen to burn the propane completely. Carbon Dioxide is still dangerous but not detected by your test method.
Hey BigDaddy, A nice hot furnace, perhaps from a mobile home would be perfect, something around 100K BTU, it would warm and dry out any humidity from the garage and make it comfortable to work in about 1hour.... Thanks for the suggestion, I am looking for one, thanks also for watching and commenting!!!
You should lookup your oxygen levels also, the oxygen will deplete faster cause it's using the oxygen to burn the propane, when there is alot of oxygen in the air the propane burns cleaner producing much less carbon, but once the oxygen gets low enough you start seeing a spike in carbon
God people are some dumb. I bet you always leave a widow cracked in your house. Your house, especially garage is not 100 air tight no matter how sealed you make it. Even a tiny flow is more than enough.
i think that all things considered, this is a good option. you have plenty of air gaps and a state of the art 28 dollar meter, lol. i would still go buy a REAL carbon monoxide detector,it kills people everyday unfortunately.
Hey Roger, the house has detectors and the heaters are vented, I was concerned about the garage because the patio heater is not vented, I was surprised though when I started up the trx250 with the doors opened and the detector alarmed immediately!!! Some nasty stuff comes from a running engine! Thanks for Ur thoughts, advice, suggestions, watching, and commenting!!!!
Hey Ed, I just wanted to get an idea of the CO exposure, it seems that these propane heaters are pretty safe with just a little venting!!! Thanks for the laugh, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!

I use a Mr Big Buddy and a plug in carbon monoxide detector. Good to be safe.

You big buddy heat how much PC?

$10 a bottle! That's a good deal!
No kidding! Lowest I've seen is $16 for a 15lb tank
Do you think it’s safe to sit one inch away from the base and inhale the fumes?? Asking for a friend...

Just keeping the window cracked should be fine tho 👌🏻
I get a 0 on mine maybe because the rooms are so big, Great vid Harvey Cheers Dizzy.
Hey David!!! Turns out these propane heaters seem pretty safe with just a little bit of ventilation, now, start up a motor and see how quickly the CO builds up.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!!
Monoxide sneaks up on you....Nasty stuff and it plays for keeps.
Hey ZIG!!! CO damage accumulates, it can present as the flu and it can aggravate other health issues.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, concerns, advice, watching, and commenting!!!
Nice little meter
Hey Terri!!! I wanted to make sure that I was not causing any more damage to myself then necessary!!! Thanks for Ur thoughts, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
I keep a detector in my garage . I use a kerosene torpedo heater . It has not gone off since I got the heater and tuned it up .

Can it be used under a porch cover? Thanks
@Mallard
I don’t see why not. I’ve seen them used under overhangs and lean-to’s.
Signal Corp hooah!
Do you use any kind of heat shield on the ceiling?
Hello I love your video I have CDI in my Honda 250 the same one you are currently been doing video on I also have a trx200 sx is it ok to put the CDI in the 200 from out of my 250 it's a bit bigger just wants to be sure so I don't burn it out and be down both ATVs thx man can't wait to hear back for you
No answer yet Harvey
I might have to get a meter like that for the lp heater I use
Hey 88Katana! For $28 U can know what U R being exposed to and U may find that U can seal up some more leaks and save some more $.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
Scientific as always

Hello.! I have a patio heater like this one but I can't turn it on, it turns on but it doesn't stay on. What do I do.!?
Have you tried bypassing/skipping the tip sensor?

Looks good and safe to me. And at a $1 a hour price that is cheap.

Can you smell any propane when you use this heater?
Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide are 2 different things....
Complete combustion of propane results in the formation of carbon DIoxide and water vapour.
Carbon MONoxide is a by-product of combustion when there is not enough oxygen to burn the propane completely.
Carbon Dioxide is still dangerous but not detected by your test method.
Hey Tristyn!!! Good info!!! I will have to buy a CO2 monitor also!!! Thanks for the info!!! Thanks also for watching and commenting!!!
Maybe someday you can get a furnace from one off the jobs you and your buddy do
Hey BigDaddy, A nice hot furnace, perhaps from a mobile home would be perfect, something around 100K BTU, it would warm and dry out any humidity from the garage and make it comfortable to work in about 1hour.... Thanks for the suggestion, I am looking for one, thanks also for watching and commenting!!!
Harvey Spooner yes that's what I was thinking that be nice for you
I'm guessing it would read 8 or 9 if you held down the gas on a cigarette lighter around it. 🤔
You should lookup your oxygen levels also, the oxygen will deplete faster cause it's using the oxygen to burn the propane, when there is alot of oxygen in the air the propane burns cleaner producing much less carbon, but once the oxygen gets low enough you start seeing a spike in carbon
True, but that garage is leaking in outside air like a sieve.
God people are some dumb. I bet you always leave a widow cracked in your house. Your house, especially garage is not 100 air tight no matter how sealed you make it. Even a tiny flow is more than enough.

Just get a carbon monoxide alarm
Very cool don't close the door on yourself LOL
Hey Ed, I just wanted to get an idea of the CO exposure, it seems that these propane heaters are pretty safe with just a little venting!!! Thanks for the laugh, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
