    I'm sure you'll be safe enough,I think you would start to feel sleepy before it got harmful.
    My only issue with propane heaters is that they cause a lot of condensation,my workshop roof is alluminium and it would be dripping water after a short time with a gas heater.
    I have a log burner bought from E-bay,keeps the shop nice and warm and the dogs love it.

    I grew up living in a 12x60 trailer with two heaters like this or simulator going 24hrs a day. Also had many other relatives do the same thing. If the heater has a catalyst you'll be fine.

      Hey Bill, I was surprised how little CO these heaters put out, I was surprised how much my trx250 puts out, it triggered the alarm immediately! Thanks for the good info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!

      Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide are 2 different things....
      Complete combustion of propane results in the formation of carbon DIoxide and water vapour.
      Carbon MONoxide is a by-product of combustion when there is not enough oxygen to burn the propane completely.
      Between that and the lead in the water for almost 30% of all Americans....
      Just a question... how many Trump voters in the family?

    I had been wondering about your heater. I run a propane radiant heater and have wondered about it, but then I only run it to take the chill off, usually about 40 degrees before I shut it down. 40 is warm compared to zero... Thanks for the information. I like that your heater doesn't sound like a blast furnace running all the time.

    • @HarveySpooner
      @HarveySpooner  6 лет назад

      Hey Fix-it Man!!! The heater is quiet, pretty cheap to run, does not need electricity and I like the way it radiates heat downward like the sun, I just wanted to be sure that I was not causing myself harm or recommending to others a way of causing themselves harm.... Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!

    Thank god you have a meter tester Harvey dont wanna see you get sick. Have you ever looked into a DIY Beer Can Heater? They work good on sunny day's not so much on cloudy day's. 10 bucks a day for heat is good.

    • @HarveySpooner
      @HarveySpooner  6 лет назад

      Hey Spongie!!! Not much on the beer can heater, I have had more success with the hard cider can heater!!! My son gets me the fuel for free.... The only problem with the cider can heater is that it gives me the urge to water trees all the time, kind of slows my work.... LOL!!! Thanks for the suggestions, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!

    Gotta use infrared heaters to keep this place warm. 1 degree low tonight. Been trying to get landlord to spring for more insulation. I'd install it. All he had to do was provide material cost but he's tighter than the bark on a tree. Guess he'll be shelling out for a plumber on Friday. :) Forgive my delight. LOL

    Flueless propane / natural gas fireplaces are very common and suposidly safe for indoors. I have one its an insert. It works awesome because all the heat goes into the room and not up the chimney. It stinks up the house a hell of alot less than the old wood fireplace did. Im sure its a million times better than a kerosene heater. maybe you can test one of those

      Hey Jeep, I got rid of all my kerosene heaters, they would mess with my sinuses, but, I started the TRX250 and the CO meter instantly alarmed as going over the safe limit.... Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!

    Two issues with propane heaters.
    1. Oxygen use.
    2. CO production.
    Oxygen use is probably more critical than CO production. You can easily drop the O2 levels below livable before the CO levels cause an alarm.
    Decreased Oxygen will cause drowsiness and confusion. Increased CO will cause headaches and confusion.

    • @HarveySpooner

      Hey BigDaddy, A nice hot furnace, perhaps from a mobile home would be perfect, something around 100K BTU, it would warm and dry out any humidity from the garage and make it comfortable to work in about 1hour.... Thanks for the suggestion, I am looking for one, thanks also for watching and commenting!!!

  • @hightowerone

    I'm guessing it would read 8 or 9 if you held down the gas on a cigarette lighter around it. 🤔

  • @Kev376
    @Kev376 4 года назад +1

    You should lookup your oxygen levels also, the oxygen will deplete faster cause it's using the oxygen to burn the propane, when there is alot of oxygen in the air the propane burns cleaner producing much less carbon, but once the oxygen gets low enough you start seeing a spike in carbon

      God people are some dumb. I bet you always leave a widow cracked in your house. Your house, especially garage is not 100 air tight no matter how sealed you make it. Even a tiny flow is more than enough.

    @rogeroconnor5182 6 лет назад +1

    i think that all things considered,this is a good option. you have plenty of air gaps and a state of the art 28 dollar meter,lol. i would still go buy a REAL carbon monoxide detector,it kills people everyday unfortunately.

    • @HarveySpooner
      @HarveySpooner  6 лет назад

      Hey Roger, the house has detectors and the heaters are vented, I was concerned about the garage because the patio heater is not vented, I was surprised though when I started up the trx250 with the doors opened and the detector alarmed immediately!!!
