    I love that you let your girls do stuff … their hands will learn so much. I hated dolls when I was a child but loved it when my dad gave me a hammer when it just a little smaller than me. I later learned wood working skills and I have saved thousands and thousands over the years doing household projects on my own!

      Wow, it does look teal in distance footage. If I didn’t see her mix & paint, I would think it was more blue than green. That happens sometimes with lighting, electronics & translation. Watched a That Shabby Guy paint a dresser he said was blue but on my end it was the most beautiful purple. He said other ppl ask where he got that beautiful “purple” color bc we all wanted it. 😂 He was shocked 😳 of course. 😃
      Anyhoo, turned out super!!! I love green, teal, purple… it’s all good 😊

    Love this! Thank you so much for sharing your tips and techniques! I have a similar dresser (maple?) and I sanded the drawer fronts but I can't seem to remove the impression of the old drawer pulls. Did you have to do anything more to remove those impressions or did the bleaching and tan wash take care of that?

  • @ivyanderson4314
    @ivyanderson4314 2 года назад

    Love this makeover!!! I saw that you primed before you painted. I know that you sometimes mix the primer right into your paint recipe. Is there a reason you did a primer coat this time? Also, Did you put a topcoat inside your paint mixture? I love watching your videos, I always learn so much. Thanks!

    • @blacksheephouse
      @blacksheephouse  2 года назад +2

      I primed with solid pure primer since the top was that shiny plastic laminate stuff (it’s almost like painting glass it is so hard and slick!) and then since I primed the top I went ahead and did base so color would be uniform and since I knew I would be priming anyway I didn’t add it to my paint mix ❤️

    • @blacksheephouse

    Question: for ur taupe wash on drawer fronts, u said u used 3 parts clear coat +1 part paint. The clear coat ,,, do u mean to use a waterbased topcoat as ur clearcoat here? And, did u topcoat any of this dresser?

    Did you apply any Protective Finish on drawers? I’m doing the same finish in my bathroom, should I apply Protective Finish for easy cleaning? Thank you

    • @blacksheephouse
      @blacksheephouse  2 года назад

      I would do a few coats of water based polyurethane to protect from water damage in a bathroom, on this dresser I didn’t add any extra topcoat just what was mixed into the tan paint

  • @tableflippinghousewife
    @tableflippinghousewife 2 года назад

    Yes! The green undertones! I did a similar dresser and had the same challenge. I’m glad to know now that the wood was poplar and that I wasn’t seeing things. Why the vinegar? To neutralize the bleach or does that help lighten the color too?

    • @blacksheephouse
      @blacksheephouse  2 года назад

      Haha There’s always some kind of new issue it seems!
      From what I understand it neutralizes the bleach and keeps it from drying out the wood over time which could lead to splitting.

  • @myruffleddreams1906
